Free found scratcher. Could be nothing, could be $5,000.
While none are grand slams, the Pens now have goalie prospects of Clang 19, Blomqvist 20, Gauthier 21, and Lindberg 23. The last two were free undrafted signs.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CrossFireX33</b></div><div>I see the penguins have gotten serious about fixing their goaltending issues</div></div>
He was arguably the best UFA goalie available.
Rask is a UFA but a) injured til 2022 and b) wishes to retire a Bruin - so isn’t available by any definition.
Dubnyk has never been an elite goalie and his play has fallen off a Cliff - or two - the past 2 seasons.
McElhinney was a solid NHL back-up til he ran into Father Time last year & will be lucky to get a PTO at this stage (although Craig Anderson got signed so who knows).
Jon Gillies has played a few NHL games and may have back-up potential but at best is a 3rd stringer after a rough season last year.
Other than that you have goalies that aren’t ready, and likely never will be ready, to play in the NHL:
Artyom Zagidulin
Jeremy Helvig
Evan Cormier
Cole Kehler
Jake Kielly
That’s it. Given what’s available - they’d have to give up assets in a trade or sign Domingue for league minimum.

Would love this as a Flames fan but definitely think its a bad idea for the pens. A down year for Zucker is basically Lucic’s peak and we cant really retain salary. I guess it depends how much Burke wants his truckulence.

Detroit Red Wings signed Marc Staal (1 Year / $2,000,000 AAV)
When you trade or sign a player who was good but isn't anymore the hockey world gets split.
This is kinda the same. Marc Staal who's was getting paid everything by the Rangers was terrible. But the guy who played for Detroit last season is probably worth this. Worst case he's up at the end of next year.
The NMC is just to keep him out of Grand Rapids. If Detroit were to move him at the deadline he'd probably waive it.

(CHI/COL) - Söderberg for Dickinson, Rolston
Colorado gets Kevin Connauton + a 3rd round pick for trading away Soderberg when his cap hit was close to 5 million and he had trade protections.
Chicago gets a fringe AHL player + a 5th round pick from 2020 for trading away Soderberg when his cap hit is 1 million and had no trade protections.
Colorado wins.

Penguins lineup changes
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Marcsnack</b></div><div>Honestly I am all for giving O'Connor a shot. Looked good in training camp and he even was on the PP2 in practice. I would love him to get a chance. I think the Zucker-Malkin-Rust line has been the weakest thus far. I would love to see Guentzel back on that line, because they had some real chemistry before he got hurt last year. Zucker and Sid also looked great together in the playoffs. I would go:
Zucker-Crosby-Kapanen
Guentzel-Malkin-Rust
McCann-Jankowski-Tanev
O'Connor-Blueger-Sceviour
(ZAR will also be back soon, wonder what they do then)
Defensively, I dont know who to put where between Ruhwedel and Ceci. I want POJ to be with the steadier dman, so Ruhwedel, but then again, I dont want Ceci on top 4 minutes. Its tough haha.</div></div>
This is exactly what I’m thinking
