Early Season Lines Idea
A couple solid pre-season games. Let’s settle down. The guy hasn’t been able to become a consistent NHLer for a reason. Not saying he can’t make the jump, as guys his age have certainly rounded into form before, but its extremely unlikely.

Early Season Lines Idea
Stralman played one game. Not only he isn't a top4 D but it's way to early to give him McAvoy's spot until he's back. Not sure what's the issue with Reilly. Agreed with your thoughts on Greer and the other young forwards.

Training Camp Questions
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsFan35</b></div><div>I agree with the sentiment that Smith is a more than serviceable third line winger, and is a benefit to have on the ice. That’s true. But the Bruins have logjammed their pipeline at practically every position in the name of attempting to compete for a postseason bid. The result has been stunting the growth of various prospects, who probably are ready for full roles in the NHL but can’t beat out the veterans. Lysell can NOT be ruined in such a manner. If he shows that he’s ready for NHL ice time this camp, then we have to play him. Smith, to me, is the odd man out</div></div>
This is all very true. It has been tough to bring a guy like Stud, or Steen up from the p-bruins and expect them to play the fourth line style when they have been practicing for a more skilled role for so long. I would agree it would be nice to see Lysell (or even Beecher) make the roster full time this season, but with the way this season is shaping up to go along, having the best opportunity to win the cup and have one final run IMO is with a guy like Smith sticking around with the team, (maybe could be seen as kind of "our own rental" kinda thing, where you know it's gonna be his last season with the team regardless) which is probably the way the Bruins actually end up playing it out (because they do dumb things). I too hope to see wags full time again. I guess we'll just have to wait and see!

Ottawa's top 6 is pretty full right now. Ottawa's need is at RD. Carlo would be more of interest. I'd say a 1st round pick is a little rich for him. What would you be looking for in order to trade Carlo to Ottawa?

NHL 23 Custom Roster Doc
Great stuff here. All the content you have posted on CF has been fantastic
Here are the changes I would make as a Devils fan
Switch Johnsson and Tatar. Tatar was better and more consistent than Johnsson last year
Haula I would lower to an 83 and Mercer upgrade to an 84 (he's about the same level as Sharangovich right now)
Hamilton I would still have as an 87-88. He was on a career high for points before he broke his jaw and toe which ruined his production/momentum.
Blackwood and Vanacek should have similar overalls and potential. Blackwood 83, Vanacek 84. A 6 overall difference is pretty wild. I would drop Bernier to a 77ish with his injury.
Holtz should be 77 medium elite imo. Just was a point per game in the AHL at the age of 19 and is on the verge of making it to the NHL
Great stuff again

You’d assume wrong.
Forbort is their top guy on the PK and when paired with Clifton 5x5 their metrics are crazy good.
Reilly would be the D man most likely traded. Craig Smith is also a candidate.

You still going to do rankings on the slides or no? Admittedly, with more in-depth explanations rankings aren’t needed as much but it’s a nice touch

Though too bad we don't get to see Bedard vs. Michkov till 2026-27.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsFan35</b></div><div>Thank you. As for Allen, I actually like him a lot. He’s good in all three zones, solid size (a bit short for a defender but more than makes up for it being 190 plus pounds). All situations kind of defender. Shows flashes of a really high hockey iq, but needs to make more consistent and quick decisions. Overall should be a lock in the first round, and could be a top 15 pick. Just not on my ranking for top 15 as of right now.</div></div>
All right thanks for the answer !

I really enjoyed your draft guide for the 2022 draft and this one looks really complete and promising. I like watching prospects during the year so your analyzes are interesting.
For that top 15, I really like Cameron Allen for Team Canada during the Hlinka-Gretzky tournament. What do you think about him ?

I love the new format so much, I like the addition of floor and a long description of your thoughts on the player, adds a lot more depth to your profiles and helps me in making my rankings too lol
Edit: You can take Ivan Zhigalov out of the goalie pool, pretty sure he was pick 225 last year

I would include Matthew Wood somewhere in the top 10. Also two good goalie prospects, Scott Ratzlaff and Yegor Zavragin.

Dump Foligno Trade Reilly and Bury Wagner
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BruinsFan35</b></div><div>I kind of agree with this. I would also kinda like to see Lysell stay in Junior if he doesn’t get significant ice time with the big club, which is unlikely. Studnicka could be 3RW, and McLaughlin could play 4RW. No need for Brett Ritchie, one of the Bruins’ biggest issues is the logjam at every position for the past few years. Buying depth pieces at the deadline to try and push for cups has stopped them from allowing kids to learn at the NHL level. Studnicka, Steen, and probably even Senyshyn (prior to being moved) should’ve been given better opportunities to earn spots out of camp and in the preseason. Instead, veterans from Free Agency had the inside lane on the final roster spots, year in and year out.</div></div>
I think attacking free agency and creating the log jam was completely acceptable for the state they were in, who they actually got in free agency is a different story. The issue that happened was instead of moving these prospects they just hoarded them. And I'm not saying anyone you listed was gonna bring anyone significant in but there were times were Studnicka was considered a valuable trade piece that couldve been used.
In terms of Lysell, I hope they line him up with Bergy come opening day. I think its the best spot for him to learn the pro level game. I just think the Bruins have major issues in trusting youth talent in a league thats getting more youthful by the season. Probably a majority of that falls on Cassidy's liking of more veteran players and Sweeney's drafting that resulted in not the greatest of talent.
