Something to watch at least. Team is beyond mid and spinning its wheels. Hughes had to do something so i like it.
Dadonov is really underrated. Great pro. I think he will fit in nicely in Dallas. He knows how to play with great players. He was erratic through most of the year but has come on strong lately.

updated with this info, thank you
the best setup man we have is suzuki but that first line is working, so i wouldn't split that up -- so he gets to be with drouin who's a slightly below-average playmaker (no one better on the team)
he'll be the main shooter on the line
and his defensive woes should hopefully be covered by dvorak who's very responsible defensively

Stars Timo Meier
Nowhere close. Stars don't have a 2023 1st, so AT MINIMUM the trade package likely starts with the 2024 1st Round Pick, Logan Stankoven, and the 2023 2nd Round Pick
The only way Dallas gets Meier is if they give up a package that they're going to be totally unwilling to give up, due to the fact that they won't be able to re-sign him this offseason.

JvR to Dallas
Someone has been reading Hockeybuzz. Not necessarily a bad trade but instead of Stranges the Flyers should take a draft pick or better prospect. The problem with Gurianov is he's a RFA coming off a bad year, how much is he going to want? I assume he's not fleeing to Russia but can go play anywhere else in Europe and the Flyers end up with nothing except his rights, possibly?

I don’t think most of us really care. It’s moreso about maximizing return. If it’s essentially a tie breaker I’d imagine the tie would go to the one out of division.

I always liked Gurianovs game and I think it’s a solid package, reckon the Stars would be the ones hesitant

Thoughts
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeautifulIdiot</b></div><div>I think that borque has pretty low upside NGL, he hasnt produced at any level enough to warrant his height. The best example of someone who was able to do this would be Garland where he put up absurd points in the Q before playing in the show,
for those reasons,
I'm out</div></div>
D+1 year for Garland: 39g-89a-128p (2.09 PPG)
D+1 year for Bourque: 20g-48a-68p (2.16 PPG)
Rookie Year in AHL for Garland: 5g-9a-14p in 55 games
Rookie Year in AHL for Bourque: 8g-15a-23p in 42 games -- On pace for 13g-25a-38p
Bourque had the highest PPG in all 3 major Canadian Junior Leagues last season. He's also putting together a pretty decent rookie year on a Texas Stars team that prioritizes veterans over younger players when it comes to ice time. So I'm gonna disagree that he hasn't produced at any level to warrant the hype surrounding him.
I'm not saying Bourque is a surefire, top-line, all-star caliber Center at the NHL level, but he's absolutely still on track to be at worst a middle-6, playmaking Center. Dallas will hold on to Bourque, who at worst looks like a young version of Conor Garland.

No, it doesn't work for Dallas. If they make the exact trade you have outlined above, they will have $2.8M this offseason to fill a MINIMUM of 5 roster spots. Gotta remember that Hintz's extension kicks in next season, so there's already an extra $5.3M that Dallas will have to account for. Adding another $5.75M (difference between Karlsson and Faksa's contracts in the trade above) is simply not financially possible for Dallas if they want to ice a full roster next season.

Buy out Suter to get under the cap. Also not sure I'd spend $2M on Stastny and Blueger when there are a half dozen players in the Stars system that should be able to fill out a 4th line role. Stankoven won't play on that line either. He'll wind up in the top-9 somewhere with linemates more suited to his play-style

21 yo is still young for a dman, even if he is NHL ready, it's better keeping him down there then trading him. Especially when he will replace Suter sooner than later and maybe Lindell in a couple years
In MTL, for exemple, we have Jesse Ylönen dying in the AHL lol
He is 23 yo now ! But because of our anchor contract he is buried in the AHL

Blues Fire Sale
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>C_M_O_R</b></div><div>With that haul, we could probably add Guri for a trade with Philly for Konecny. He’s younger with term. In your opinion, who would the Stars pursue at wing?</div></div>
Good question. Capwise, our options are limited. Before we make a decision in that regard, we need to make sure we can afford the target, both short and long term.
If we were to slot this winger to the lineup now, it'd had to be someone that fits to a line with Seguin and Marchment. Segs and Mason bring leadership, offensive prowess and some physicality into a line, but they somewhat lack speed. I think the guy we should go after would be someone that has good legs. Konecny works in this regard imo, but PHI will demand a huge cost for him.
We also need to consider the long-term need. Should we target a rental, and then trust Stankoven to fill that hole long term. Or should we pay up a bit more to get a long-term asset? If we think pure rentals, Patrick Kane obviously comes to mind, but Hawks probably don't want to deal him to a division rival. Kuzmenko, if he's available, is an option to consider as well.
Also, is there a potential option in the market that could be had for a reduced price for some reason. Would that save us cost wise and if it does, how much. Guys like Boeser has been in the rumors for a while, and I wonder if guys like Vrana or Mantha are also available at a cheaper price given their reduced roles in their current teams.
Lots of questions need answering. But it's safe to say it'll be nigh on impossible to find one guy who meshes well with all the mentioned criteria

7,5 x 3 and then 11 x 8 or so nets him more money in total in the long run.
I'd be down offering him 9+ if necessary right now, but monetarily we'd just be better off giving him that in 3 years with Benn, Suter, Faksa and Lindell of the books.

Jason Robertson
Robertson is what you hope Slafkovsky becomes. I’d hate to get rid of Robertson. Throwing in the 23 1st though makes me accept.
I believe I just don’t see Us as a real contender. Build from the back to the front. Let Otter and Heiskanen mature another year. Build around Johnston, Stankhoven and Borque. Add in Slafkovsky and 23 1st and the offense could be absolutely lethal in 2-4 years.
