Not rent free, I just think ur funny, but I agree with you this deal is very lopsided

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Don't like Kotkaniemi being played on the wing, but I don't mind this. Staal playing on the wing is a war crime though. I also think there will probably be better cheap options in free agency than Comtois. He's a fine call up option, but I'd rather pay someone better 850k to play 4th line minutes. Overall though, it's okay. A Fast buyout stings though, there will probably be takers for his deal because he is a very good playoff performer</div></div>
Opted to put Staal on the wing simply to prolong a career lol. However, moving Drury there works just as well.
Kotkamniemi is such a flipping enigma. Playing him on the wing is less than ideal, but the general idea is to jump start something..... anything! I still feel the game is there, just needs to find consistency and confidence in his abilities. My opinion may not reflect others.
Comtois...... there maybe better options for the contract, won't dismiss that. Went there as the organization has a level of familiarity with him now, and he has been pretty good with the Wolves.
Fast definitely hurts..... not disagreeing one bit. And if there is a taker for the 1 year, even better! Frees up $800K, which could be utilized.
With you being a long time Canes poster, I certainly appreciate the feedback. Nice to know that my hockey sense isn't out to lunch lol

Antianalytics is also antifun... come one.. like it's that big a deal I make these posts. This site is mostly for fun - we aren't doing this to pad our resume to be a real GM. We can all post on here for different reasons - is it realistic? No - but you asked for it as a joke. So I posted it for a joke. Is the value maybe there - idk, it could be; and that's what makes it fun for me. You think I look ridiculous; I think you look like a ****ing asshole

Not sure I follow your logic here. Finnish names are notoriously hard to spell. If they just said KK you wouldn't have said anything

Necas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Necas would be a significant upgrade to what is already on the wings in Montreal, I don't think that's questionable. But there isn't a fit here. The 2 guys Carolina would have major interest in are Suzuki and Caufield, and even then Caufield on his own is a downgrade from Necas.</div></div>
I love that we are arguing the same points on two different posts ahaha.
Again - I strongly disagree on Caufield (23yo) being a downgrade as he has better projected points (64 pts/82g v.s 58pts/82g) than Necas (25yo) while playing on a TERRIBLE team and coming back from major shoulder surgery. Also, Slaf, at 19, is projected 12 pts behind Necas... even after the terrible start where he got 10 pts in 34 games. So I would dial it back a little bit on that front.

Another PIT Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>I was summoned?
Canes decline. He's signed long term to a good value contract, he's 23, and he's still the youngest center on the roster. It's much more likely Drury (whose asked for a trade) or the shell of Jordan Staal get shipped out of town.
I hate that Chatfield contract too. He's not good. Actually a lot of these contracts are all over the place. Teuvo isn't making 6, you're underpaying Jarvis AND Necas. Why is Kochetkov the starting goaltender when Freddie is still clearly miles better?</div></div>
As is written

Necas to Vancouver
Like Necas quite a bit but Lekkerimaki is showing signs that he may be in North America next season. Possibly seeing NHL ice time so I wouldn't do this. Van would also need to shed a bunch of money somehow. Van would probably offer something like 1st, Garland/Miki + prospect and I doubt you'd want that.

As for the Canes trade, you're light. Missing a 4th, and then Carolina might do it. Brannstrom's not exactly got much value right now where Fast is a proven playoff performer and a key piece on one of the best defensive lines in the league</div></div>
Id still do it with a 4th. We have a million 4th this year

How would you make this trade more fair
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Caniac2000</b></div><div>Aho and EP40 are the same caliber of player, that would be a lateral swap for the Canes. Necas 1st Pesce could be workable, I've done Necas, Morrow 1st, Drury deals in the past</div></div>
Yeah, I'd give Petey the edge offensively but Aho definitely beats him defensively. It would be a lateral move that doesn't really make sense for the Canes. Necas, Drury, Morrow, 1st is probably pretty similar value wise to Necas, Pesce, 1st. I just think the 2nd offer would fill the Canucks needs better and I think it's the kind of move they'd be more interested in, but I wouldn't be opposed to the value in either of those deals.

Honestly, with Aho’s contract, I’m taking him over Petey any day.
