blockbuster with Vancouver
If you want EP40 and Boeser then more is needed. How about this.
Pettersson, Elias [RFA Rights]
Boeser, Brock
Juolevi, Olli
Poolman, Tucker
for
Hughes, Jack
Hughes, Luke
Foote, Nolan
Thompson, Tyce
Severson, Damon
2022 1st round pick (NJD) (no protection)

Is he truly worth more than this
Yes. Dvorak's contract is great value and term, and he is capable of putting up 30 to 45 points in a season.
That gives Montreal a solid 1-2-3 down the middle: Suzuki - Dvorak - Evans and Poehling & Pacquette can battle over 4th centre position with an inside chance going to Poehling and an outside chance to Belzile.. They are going to miss Danault.

I struggled with having Rielly and fitting under the cap. I looked at not having Price, but then the goalie tandem becomes Jarry & Brossoit which is good, but not great.
Any suggestions?

Ya. They definitely need a backup goalie for WHEN, not IF Markstrom gets hurt. I really think Mackey steps up this season.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEmphatic1</b></div><div>If Kane's contract is terminated, I wonder what Doug Wilson will do. Is he going to attempt to replace him (I really hope he does not and try to trade more of our future for a replacement) or he's going to save the cap space because Hertl, Ferraro, and Knyzhov are all due for raises next off season?
I also wonder what happens to Kane. Does he get banned and go to the KHL?</div></div>
I vote dump Kane, go full rebuild....find a way to offload Karlson or Vlasic whichever is easier or both...take whatever makes sense (i.e., OEL and Garland in Vancouver), and trade Hertl, and Couture all for picks and prospects.
Kane can play with Virtanen, Leipsic and Volnov in the KHL.

If Ceci doesn't work out trade him after a year. There will be a team that finds value...you will have Schneider, Hegle and Bergland coming up on the RD, and Keith is gone after a year and you have Samorukov, Lagesson and Broberg on the LD.

Iafallo - Zibanejad - Poolparty
Hyman - RNH - Kakko
Foegle - Byfield - Kassian
Shore - McLeod - Ryan
Nurse - Barrie
Keith - Bouchard
Samorukov - Ceci
Petersen
Smith
Koskinen

Montreal in the mix
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRSus</b></div><div>Right, but IMO Suzuki is our #1 KK is our #2 and Romanov is our Corner Stone For LHD with Guhle eventually. The need for an Eichel type player is there for Montreal but his contract ties up Montreal with way to much money past the next 2-3 years when they will need to sign the young guys. To me the price isn't the problem in an eichel trade its just I see this team being able to grow around the kids they got now better then they would to build around just eichel and smaller pieces.
Eichel at 8.5 Would be amazing but McDavid Exists and he's worth his contract but that makes people think they deserve more because of it and now players like Tavares are aging while making 11 Million. They need criteria for players to earn over 10 mil cause some players earn way too much</div></div>
I mean, agreed that players make too much, then you look at the NBA and your brain explodes. Lowry just signed a deal to make 30mil a year. Ridiculous. McDavid is likely worth more. I mean, is Marner really worth almost 11mil? NOPE. Point contract price is probably really accurate. I see a lot more players getting big money without looking at the team dynamic and impacts on getting a Stanley Cup. I think McDavid is worth his contract, but it holds the Oilers back from having a more rounded team (...also the location and especially management impact that too).

Final piece for a long playoff season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>Final piece? :tearsofjoy
Anyway, the trade is terrible.
- Georgiev is a downgrade on Koskinen
- you didn't even save any money in the deal
- you gave up assets to do it
That's called a lose-lose-lose deal. The three main points (performance, cap and prospects) all took it in the pants.</div></div>
How do you see that? Koskinen is horrible (i.e., 0/4 on 4 shots vs. Vancouver in 2021). He is much older than Georgeiv and on the wrong side of his career peak. He is an overpaid backup. Georgiev is younger locked for two years on a good contract and hasnt hit his ceiling yet. To move out Koskinen means a loss to the Oilers any way you slice it. The Oilers are needing to start winning more playoff games now and with Smith and Koskinen that isn't happening, Georgeiv gives them a better shot.
I get the money piece....so retain less, only 1mil.

Samorukov definitely up'd his game in the KHL. I could definitely see him coming in an getting some NHL games. If he can out play Lagesson then he would stick around. Im hoping Oilers are open to that.
Is Samorukov going to be playing in North America this year or KHL?

Okay. Eakin is on the wrong side of the line to be a positive. Jenner is the best to slot in and most likely to be moved. With Dickinson being moved Faksa isn't going anywhere. I really like D. Strome, but he isnt the most defensively reliable, but I think like he big brother he will turn a corner.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HabsRSus</b></div><div>In what world does Caufield make sense at Center? He's 5'7 he'd literally have no advantage in the draw.
The only Lines with the current players are
Anderson Suzuki Caufield - Scoring, Size, Speed, Playmaking and Suzuki is good Defensively
Hoffman Kotkaniemi Toffoli - Good Offensive Potential ( Could easily be line 3 any night)
Drouin Poehling Gallagher - Wing depth is too good so someone has to pencil in this spot (Easily could be #2 any night)
Lehkonen Evans Armia - Checking Line
With our wing depth 1 of Gallagher/Toffoli/Hoffman/Anderson will play the 3rd line spot. In this scenario gally is but I think the two middle lines will play very similar minutes. 1st line will play a majority and the 4th line will be heavily used to defend and apply constant pressure just like Staal Perry Armia did in playoffs.
We need 1 more Solid 3C because I think evans looks better with lehkonen and armia and poehling has to still prove hes made the right advances in his game</div></div>
Trade Kraken for Colin Blackwell.

I guess Primeau is the back-up to start the season. I like how your team looks, but I know Perreault came to play/fulfill a dream, likely 4th line...energy and agitation...kinda like Perry.
Another line option:
Toffoli - Suzuki - Hoffman
Drouin - Caufield - Gallagher
Lehkonen - KK - Anderson
Paquette / Perreault - Evans - Armia
