I think most non-ducks fans would disagree with you. Although I think Gibson is capable of his 2015-2019 performances I don’t think his trade value is still at that level. This is probably a fair trade given the risk Pit is taking with Gibby‘s term.
Ducks get another pick in the deepest draft since 2015, they’re free up cap and a spot for Dostal, and utilize value from players that didn’t fit in their window.
Pens utilize a pick that doesn’t fit their window, they get a Swiss Army knife in Henrique who will score 30 there with great two-way ability, they get rid of a bad contract in Granlund and they get a bonafide starter/possible superstar goalie in Gibson for 4 years.

They literally can’t, they’re over the cap next season. They need to move cap in order to be cap compliant and front a whole roster.

Draft and Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>Best player available is Michkov after Bedard though
Contract is the only real reason he's not being talked about more
That and lack of ability to continue to out play Bedard head to head internationally
People forget head to head Michkov dominated Bedard to the point of a u-18 3rd overall Goal Scoring Record behind only Ovechkin and Caufield.
He's as Legit of a goal scorer as we've seen in years in the NHL Draft
Fantilli is good but he's basically Dach 2.0
As much as i love Dach and i do
His established Value after a few years out of the Draft is a mid 1st round pick
He's a hell of a player but the Transition to Center in the NHL based on his lack of Faceoff Skills held him back from hitting his top Projections.
Guess what Fantilli's only real weakness is ? Faceoffs
We moved Dach to Wing and not only did he have career best number but Caufield saw a big boost as did Suzuki
He may be a top line player 100%
It just in all likelihood wont be in ANA IMO
In the end you'll have passed on Michkov for a lesser winger
You'll still have an Elite player though so i guess its worth the gamble that Fantilli will learn to take faceoffs eventually unlike Dach who still struggles hard there.</div></div>
Fantilli is leagues ahead of where Dach was at the draft. He’s going to be Eichel or better. But I do agree that they should take Michkov instead, I just don’t think they would.

Draft and Offseason
I’ve seen Lafreniere trades where he’s traded straight up for a second so I don’t think I’m far off on that one.
Oilers would definitely give up a first for 4M in cap space over 4 years. They have 2M in cap space in 2024 and they need to resign Bouchard this season, thats going to be a low first. Carolina got a 1st for one year of Marleau 4 years of Campbell is easily a 1st.
Lou seems to not care about picks at all, and 5M more space for them is a necessity, they’re in a desperate situation to compete.
Buffalo can’t wait for Levi or another goalie to be ready they need one now, while they’re primed to compete, hence why I think that Gibson trade works on some level, maybe with minor tweaks.

He helps them a ton. The ducks aren’t gonna be competing for a Cup next year another 1st rounder helps the Ducks more than Carolina. Although I would be fine with them keeping him, but he will fetch a first somewhere.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Billy739</b></div><div>If im ANA im trading down with MTL, SJS or CBJ to take Reinbacher
Way cheaper then Dumba and long term gives you a deep Defense Core like ANA had a few years back before selling high.
Fantilli is great dont get me wrong but with Zegras , Mctavish and Strome he's not needed as much as that RD and you're not giving up skill the players both project as top guys and Starters.
I know MTL would likely give up both their picks though for Fantilli
Simple logic is Dach is great player but as far as Center he plays at a lower pace then at Wing.
If we got Fantilli we could put Dach on Top Line beside Caufield and Suzuki permanently
We could still do that with Smith too but he'll take 2 more years minimum while Fantilli could be ready now.
But thats me speaking to what i know as a MTL Fan.
Im sure CBJ would pay to get Fantilli for sure
I know SJS Sharks would but im not sure you'll trade with a rival</div></div>
Ducks already have: Drysdale, Luneau, Helleson and Warren. They definitely don’t need an RD prospect and you alway take the BPA when you’re at the bottom of the league. Ducks definitely take Fantilli.

I'm less confident we can get a 23 1st for kling, maybe a 24 is possible, or a 2nd and a good prospect.
I'm curious if we try to bury or buyout Silf next year.</div></div>
I think most GMs have already determined what Klingberg is even with this season. Plus the Pul is almost a negative asset

TDL and Offseason
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jded</b></div><div>I can’t tell you what league consensus is on him as to whether he’s overrated or not. What I can say is he’s playing great hockey, looks the part, and is improving every year. He’s a 22 year old first round pick typically playing with mediocre line mates, I have no idea why you would assume he is peaking right now and will regress. He looks as good as his stats suggest on the ice every night, and plays consistent hockey. His points aren’t a fluke. And if you could trade him high and get great value? Sure, I’d trade anyone under those conditions if you were truly getting great value. Is Chychrun good value? Sure. But not when you’re throwing a first round pick in there. Two guys who were drafted relatively reasonably for their value 7 picks apart in drafts 2 years apart, and you’re throwing in a first round pick to get older by a year and move up 7 spots. I don’t see great value anywhere in it. I keep Lundy</div></div>
I think he'll regress because he's shooting +20% right now and he and Silfverberg currently hold the worst xGF% and CF% on the team. However, for some reason, his reputation is exploding this year, despite the fact that his numbers haven't been ideal and his counting stats aren't sustainable. So personally I think the Ducks should sell high for a 23-year-old top 4 D with term who can slide in where Lindholm was, and let one of Steel, Groulx, or another prospect fill out the 3rd line C role that Lundestrom would hold in the future. Chychrun is far more valuable to a team than Lundestrom.

No, it didn't, the trade got canceled because Bob Murray was pissy that it was reported before it was made. But Jeff Marek reported that the pricing for DLo was a 1st and that the trade almost went through.
It's 100% an outrageous price, but GMs are stupid and PIT has made this kinda dumb trade before (see Reaves trade).

Do you think he gets that after one hot streak? No sweat off my back if he does sign with BOS, the other guy I think the Ducks should target if not DeBrusk would be Roy from VGK (since they have 0 cap space) or Lehkonen from MTL (who somehow also have no cap space). Both would probably sign similar contracts to DeBrusk's next one.

For me it depends on how high AZ values Lundestrom, because some of the commentaries I hear about him is like he's going to be a high-level shutdown C netting 45-55pts a season. But if they value him where i think he is, yeah i could see ANA throwing in an additional 2nd rd pick.
