If you're going by p% the Ducks aren't in the playoffs right now, and Verbeek has said that they're still in a rebuild and just recently indicated he would either be extending players or trading them at the deadline. So it's more likely than not that Lindholm, Manson and Rakell are gone by the deadline. But I agree, that's a terrible return for Anaheim.

Why would the Ducks do the Oilers a favor with that trade when there will be other suitors willing to pay more for Manson?

I just don't see why you do the last three trades when Verbeek confirmed that the Ducks are rebuilding. Also, I think Dermott + 1st is more suitable for Manson cuz the Ducks will need someone replacing Lindholm for a while.

GM Verbeek just confirmed that they're in a rebuild. Manson is likely getting traded. This trade works for the Ducks probably, assuming they're also trading Lindholm.

Nemeth is the only position I’d be concerned about upgrading or replacing and it wouldn’t cost Schneider and a 1st to do so. Analytics don’t tell the entire story, not too mention Miller is only 21. There’s no reason for us to do the above trade. If you don’t watch the Rangers night in and out I don’t think analytics provide the full picture.</div></div>
Well if you don’t think analytics provide a good enough picture for a trade then I don’t think you’re a good judge for what an actual GM would consider.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>HOCKEYBOY448</b></div><div>First off Schneider isn’t for sale. Second we need a third pairing d man if anything. We don’t need a top pair guy with our top 4 set pretty much with Fox and Lindgren and Trouba and Miller. This seems completely unnecessary and we’d be better off targeting a 3C to win faceoffs or a middle six forward to play on the right side.</div></div>
The Rangers left side is very weak. Miller is not performing well in CF% or xGF% next to Trouba and Nemeth is even worse. Lindholm is exactly what they need, they have the offensive horses to create but they don't have defense to get the forwards the puck. I think in a trade like this Scheider would easily be made available. There's not really a slot for him in NYR for the next 5 years anyway.

If Monahan is someone we need, andI'm not convinced, I think we'd need to add and I don't think that we'd be getting the draft picks back. I understand that Flames fans are currently down on Monahan, but he's still a serviceable top-6 center.</div></div>
I saw a bunch of Calgary fans proposing Debrusk for Monahan one for one on here, hence the trade. I don't think Boston makes that trade because of how bad Monahan is compared to his contract and the extra year on it.
Hence why I think this trade works. It's not a trade to acquire Monahan it's a trade to get picks, Monahan is just the body that comes with them.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Byrr</b></div><div>Why is Anaheim rebuilding again? They are 1st in the Pacific right now.</div></div>
Well, I guess it's more of a retool. Management seems to recognize that the Ducks aren't going to be contending for a Cup this year as Solomon said they are still in a rebuild. With valuable core players going to UFA status, this current conglomeration of the Ducks isn't worth trying to keep together given the age of the pieces.
Losing these pieces will definitely hurt them competing this year but it will set them up to really succeed when McTavish, Perrault, Zellweger, Thrun, and Pastujov break into the roster. It's not about just being in the playoffs, it's about setting up a team that can win within Zegras and Drysdale's primes. However, with the pieces still on the team, and players coming back from injury, I think this Ducks roster could still make the playoffs beating out one of SJ, WPG or NSH for a wild card spot.

If CGY fans say they don't need Manson because they have Tanev there, I hate to break it to you but he is due for an injury. The guy missed 50% of his games due to injury from 2015-2019. Also, even if he's healthy then you can bench Gudbranson and have incredible D depth for the playoffs with:
Hanifin-Andersson
Kylington-Tanev/Manson
Valimaki-Tanev/Manson
Zadorov-Gudbranson

Still In a Rebuild
Glad to see so many really measured comments on this :tearsofjoy
Chiarot was being reported to be offered a 1st round pick. You're all wrong about Lindholm, Shattenkirk, and Manson's value. I'll cede that COL trade is a bit of reach, but it's for the cap feasibility and the addition of Shattenkirk retained that made it not outlandish. COL is going to be in a cap bind next year, maybe sub in Behrens instead. Johnson has been COL's worst or second worst xGF% and CF% dman forever.
And Rakell is a stud who's well worth what's offered here.
And look up Jeff Marek's comment about DLo for a first. The only reason the deal didn't get done was because BM was a big baby when the trade got leaked and canceled it.

He's a defensive defenseman. LOL you don't think Lou would pull a move like that? He traded a 2nd rounder for 37-year-old Greene getting paid 5M who had a 45.24CF% and 46.17 xGF% on the Devils, he was the second-worst D-man on his team in controlling play, and by no means an offensive phenom. Hakanpa is 28, RHD, 6' 5", has an 800K contract, and actually has better defensive stats than Greene has had the last 5 seasons, 49.34 CF%, and 47.89 xGF%.
Lou would absolutely give up a 3rd for Hakanpaa.

No, he's properly rated. He's a number 3 RHD on a good team and on the Leafs would be their 2nd-3rd best defenseman behind Rielly and maybe Brodie.
A fair trade for Nylander would be Manson + Jones and maybe 3rd.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>keep_ups12</b></div><div>Where is Drysdale in the Laine deal and Steel for Weegar is probably what they would want</div></div>
Not in it, because the Jets aren't going to get a prospect of Drysdale or Zegras' caliber in a trade for Laine (which is why you don't trade away players like Laine). This isn't a fair trade, but it's in the ballpark of what the Jets would likely get if they traded him.
Henrique is a lot better than Steel right now, and likely will be for at least the next 3 years, and with Borgstrom & Heponiemi already projecting in similar roles I don't think FLA would be more inclined to that deal. Henrique will provide more value for them while Barkov and Huberdeau are still on their team-friendly deals.

I think that's a overpayment in itself, the 1st will likely be a lottery pick and Lindholm is a #1 Dman (most years) who's young.
But again, you're looking at it as fair value, I'm looking at what I could expect a GM like Chevy to actually say yes to.
