Until I see it happen in the real world I’m gonna say Calgary declines

Hello ComixZone,
Thank you for the feedback!
Do you think Calgary has any genuine interest in adding William Nylander and extending him as a Flames fan, and if so what would the return be in your opinion if you guys were to sign and trade? I just look at that team and from the outside looking in, they are too good to tank and too weak upfront to lose Lindholm and Backlund for nothing, and I just thought Nylander genuinely fills that whole. If they lose those two centres plus Hanifin in free agency they are in no-man's land with some big money committed to guys like Huberdeau, Kadri, and Weegar. I completely expect some sort of re-tool. Would love to hear your opinion so I can apply it to future ideas.

If it’s Bratt, Holtz, and 1st then we would expect another piece like Dube in return

Thats an extremely underwhelming return for Johnny. Think about what it would cost a team to get Pasta and subtract a little. Then you have Gaudreau's value

The Next Step
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ComixZone</b></div><div>Pretty much boils down to the team shifting to a 3-scoring lines structure. They’d roll 3 lines endlessly with the 4th line doing spot duty. So lines 1-3 would get equal 5v5 ice time, and then the players you would expect to see get more minutes via PP/PK would do just that.
If this core is going to be kept together, they need 3 lines producing - this gives them the chance at that.</div></div>
So what Vegas does? But like without putting their best players on the 3rd line. IMO just keep Dube and Bennett together and just give them like Mangiapane or Backlund

Negative. He has the requisite number of games.

Cap dumping Big UFA signings to take more cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ComixZone</b></div><div>- Monahan trade is pure trash
- Rittich is overpaid
- Tkachuk is likely underpaid
- Flames won't lose Bennett for an offersheet that returns a 2nd
- Flames won't eat 1.5M on Neal "just because" without giving him a chance to bounce back
- Brodie is worth more than a 2nd and a 3rd
- Flames won't cough up a 1st for Zucker at this stage, and it would have been a mistake at the trade deadline</div></div>
The zucker trade thing they are still saying a first only because how many other teams that are in the works and are willing to give up higher calibre players than frolik. To be honest I don't think Calgary is gonna pursue zucker anymore to much going around making him way more expensive to go get than he really is. With Monahan I did that on a speculation that him and johnny hockey have been fight over a personal issue so I just mocked a quick release deal to get one or other out to reestablish chemistry in the locker room thats why I I signed Johansson in free agency to replace monahans play. I agree with Brodie he is worth more but at the same time it will be hard to convince other GMs to give up more considering the whole league knows he's being traded for cap room basically. Bennet is a wait and see thing thats just another what if mock things. I read an artical yesterday with tre having him second on the signing priority list. Once again I agree with Neal do think they'll give another opportunity to bounce back but at the same they might not want to wait and just dump him somewhere to get cap space for another free agent signing to bolster the right wing a bit more.
