lmao, no way you think Robertson, 1st and a 3rd is too light for Murphy. Murphy has been horrible this year.
And a 2nd and a prospect is about market value for Barbashev, even though Barbashev is overrated as well.

Small Changes
Maybe it's changed but last I saw Chicago and Domi were considering an extension. I'm not certain he gets traded, or is what the Leafs should want.
Lafferty is being incredibly overrated.

Klingberg been horrible. No shot you get Holl, a 1st and a 3rd.
Would rather keep Holl tbh

After the madness
I don't think the Leafs touch their 1st rounder for a goalie. Samsonov been great, and Woll is a good 3rd goalie until Murray is back (which is expected to be next week).
Regardless, if Murray let's say has a set-back, then I think the Leafs would use the Sens 3rd to find something.

Capfriendly has changed him to LW, RW now, but he does play C. Marlies have just a ton of centres, so some have shifted over to wing. (Adam Gaudette, Bobby McMann, two others that primarily playing wing due to the center depth)
That being said, some sort of conditional pick would make sense too. I'd be okay with that

I no way does Barbashev cost "a couple 2nd rounders" lmao. Probably A 2nd. Dude has the same production as Pierre Engvall, a defensive based winger we already have. Would you trade multiple 2nd round picks for Pierre Engvall?

When the talk of Puljujarvi going on waivers came out, I actually thought of this as well. Back in camp, there was talk of Simmonds to the Oilers, when it looked like he wouldn't be with the Leafs. But since then we've had injuries allowing us to keep him around, though not playing much.

Steeves for Nyquist. - Nyquist replaces Knies or Holmberg come the playoffs.
1st + Kerfoot (cap) for Jack Roslovic.

The Leafs have Brodie, Liljegren, Timmins and Holl on their right side already. Brodie and Liljegren aren't being scratched, and Timmins has been great (and we just extended him, so clearly committed)
I don't see the sense in giving up the assets it would take to get Roy, just play him on the third pairing.
The Leafs need to focus on adding two third liners to the roster. Their defense is strong enough the way it is.

Matthews to Detroit for a 2023 first, Adam Erne, Shai Buium and Mazur. - this is how you all sound.
Detroit has no reason to do anyone favours.</div></div>
I agree this deal is a little more quantity than quality, however there's no basis for Knies and a 1st as a return, let alone a starting point.
The Horvat return is the ceiling for a Larkin return. Horvat had more points, double the goals, and defensively, Horvat is on par or better.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>bob123</b></div><div>Do you think adding Tarasenko and Acciari is enough to round out the team or do we need to more?</div></div>
My opinion is that forward should be the focus, with a top 6 and bottom 6 addition.
This certainly does that.
Only change is we'd likely need to send back Kerfoot or Engvall in the deal (or make another trade flipping one for a cheaper forward)

The Leafs have a lot that are too good to ask for and then a lot that are not quite enticing due to size/skating/position or whatnot. Maybe something like Woll or Steeves.</div></div>
Steeves probably makes sense. Dude is likely ready for NHL minutes, and we don't have a spot for him.
Woll is too important for us right now to consider moving.

Leafs say no. As cool and fun as it would be to reunite with JVR, Kerfoot's PK ability is important, and JVR is best on the powerplay, and we don't have room on our first powerplay.

Getting Bertuzzi for cheap
Just doesn't make sense tbh - We dump a forward with 23 points and a PPG of 0.45 for a 7th rounder, to acquire a player with 5 points (and a PPG of 0.29) for a 3rd rounder
I acknowledge the long-term context of Bertuzzi being a better player than Kerfoot, but the Leafs are focused on this season, and this season this hurts the Leafs roster.
I wish all the best to Bertuzzi, but it makes more sense for the Wings to sign him to a one year extension and for Bertuzzi to hopefully get back to full health and rebuild his value
