Why would Detroit do that? They are a team that has been slowly building and it’s finally looking promising. One of their best young forwards is…. Tyler Bertuzzi…. So they should trade him????? For an expiring contract and a 2nd put defensemen, the position they look extremely good at.

Well because im a drunk middle aged man counting my days until military retirement. I spend my drunkard nights recovering from a recent spine surgery. I do not pretend like I am a legitimate general manager of a professional hockey team. The actual trades I have no idea are valued correctly or not.
But I am guessing you do?

I dont understand the boeser for Marino thing
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Pensfan89</b></div><div>That’s not true though. It’s easier to find a top 6 scoring winger than a top 4 defenseman. Much less a top 4 RHD.
How many top 4 defenseman are going to be UFAs this offseason? Not many. After Letang, Lindholm, and Klingberg the talent takes quite a significant drop. Now you’re picking from guys like Chiarot, Beaulieu, Colin Miller, etc who are ok but more like good-great 3rd pair guys. Where as top 6 scoring wingers, you’ll have Forsberg, Pavelski, Rust, Malkin, Giroux, Hertl, Gaudreau, Smith, Palat, and I can go on and on and on.</div></div>
I guess I disagree with you.

The thought process is it is easier to find a 2nd pairing defensemen than it is to find a top 6 scoring winger.
I would 100% trade Marino, but not until the off-season when we can address his replacement.
None of the Pens top 6 defense should be traded at the deadline this year.

Has to have a QO of 7.5M or more for one season. Not less.</div></div>
Oh my god dude!
YES, the qualifying offer must be a 1 yr, 100% salary for his pay bracket it’s a 1 year 7.5M offer.
The player can than reject that offer and work out a long term deal. OF ANY PRICE. If they can’t decide on a price it goes to an arbitrator.
You keep acting like we are don’t know his QO is a 1yr 7.5M when we do. What we are saying is a player can decide to not take that 1 year deal and take a long term deal at a different price. Lower or higher.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>LetsGoPens69</b></div><div>You might want to Google that.
And Nope. Have to offer atleast the QO. Can’t offer less. Can negotiate for more, not less. If a player doenst have arbitration he has to take the QO. If he does he can go to an arbitration hearing and can fight for more.
Read any article pertaining to a Boeser trade even. They say it in all of them. That his QO is 7.5M next seasons. Meaning he makes a minimum of that.
If a team doesn’t offer him that. He becomes a UFA. You might want to Google that.
Go to capfriendly menu, calculators, then to qualifying offer calculators. Boeser QO is 7.5M.</div></div>
Yes the QO is 7.5M
However, he can 110% sign a long term deal for less than that.
Sorry but you are just wrong.

No he wont. He has been playing well this year when healthy. No luck. He is in his final year of his contract. Arizona can eat half the salary and move him at the deadline for a higher pick.

Jackets Deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mr_Gardoki</b></div><div>LOL yeah, he's REALLY bad defensively. Honestly, Zucker is a better player than him and would rather ride him the rest of the season than have Domi in the lineup. Zucker's fancy stats are off the charts good this year. He's just been unlucky.
Kap + 2nd would be more than fair for Texier.</div></div>
So if you want a brother in arms with Zucker, I’m your guy. I am still a big fan of Zucker. He has been outstanding this year. He has done every single thing you can ask except getting the shots to go. That’s the thing with Zucker. He still brings a ton of tangibles to the ice when he isn’t scoring. I’m ok with trading him in the off-season, but they should 100% not trade him during this year.
