Ottawa Senators Opening Day Roster 2024-2025
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Celtic</b></div><div>Take away bonk from the trade, would you do it?</div></div>
Assuming this is an offseason deal, it'd be a maybe. A lot of it would probably depend on how Norris performs in the back half of this season, would also probably take out the PHI 2nd and Boucher from the equation

Ottawa Senators Opening Day Roster 2024-2025
Respectfully, that's a no from Philly and it's not even close.
Forsberg is more or less a Cap dump, Boucher is a huge project at this point and even though I like Norris his performance this year and injury last year leave too many question marks on his long term value with that contract.
On the other hand, Bonk is having a fantastic D+1 year and looks like a borderline top pair prospect, Hart is one of the better RFA controlled Goaltenders in the league, and that 2nd rounder has more net value than either of Forsberg or Boucher at this point.
I'll put it this way: if Philly is offering Hart + Bonk in a trade package for Ottawa, the guy they're probably asking about is Tkachuk (even though I don't think Ottawa does that/that'd be enough)

Now what
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Dave26</b></div><div>So all 3 players have been playing bad. Why Calgary would sell low on both guys for another guy playing his worst hockey makes less than no sense. Best case scenario is keep them both around and hope they play better next season and then trade as rentals. Also Risto is signed for 3 years after rhis. So if he doesn’t figure it out he’d be a cap anchor and buy out candidate. So the risk is only for the Flames. Flyers get 2 guys on off years that they could get playing well and flip for assets and then they get rid of a very bad contract. Flames get royally screwed</div></div>
Ristolainen has been playing the best hockey of his career... did you just pull up an NHL stat page and draw a random conclusion?

Honestly, if I'm Montreal I'd <em>way</em> rather have Zegras + Levshunov than Reinbacher + Eiserman. Levshunov is a better prospect than Reinbacher at the same age IMO and Zegras is a better sytlistic and timeline fit than Eiserman (even though I think Eiserman has a real chance of being the better player long term)

Accelerating the rebuild TDL
You'd probably have to blow Carolina out of the water for Nikishin. They have the leverage in bringing him over and with Pesce/Burns/Orlov/Skeji all having varying long term futures with the team he's a guy who's going to be key for them.
You could probably get Morrow in this deal though, Carolina is in a tough bind with him (although their fans on this site are BRUTAL and will probably tell you that's not true)

The package you put together is just a hair more than the price to dump Campbell alone. You'd need to add another 2 1sts + young roster player if you want Zegras coming back

What is sean walker worth
Seeler = ~3rd, maybe a 2nd depending on how the rest of the market looks and if a cap strapped team really needs a solid player for a playoff run
Walker = 2nd+. He's like one of maybe 3 or 4 RHD rentals available on the market and has put up genuinely solid results this year on a cheap cap hit

Respectfully, this is very far off the mark for what it would take for TK, you'd probably need to triple the actual value of this package for Philly to move on from him

Yeah and technically he still would be. He is absolutely adored in Philly.
Having said that, Philly says yes to this. There's a greater need for Philly to gather futures now than there was a few months ago

Oh I'd love Lundell in Philly, I'm just saying it's a fairly easy claim to make that Florida would prefer TK to Laughton.
I think Lundell's true value is somewhere in the middle, I'd say Tippett but obviously Florida isn't a fit for him. Maybe something like Frost + Andrae for Lundell could get it done?

Yeah Kakko is pretty clearly not the primary piece of this (although even with his brutal start to the season I still think he's valuable), Perreault is a top-5 winger prospect in the league and the sort of guy I could see being absolutely lethal with a guy like McTavish (not to mention being 5 years younger than Zegras)

Absolutely the worst evaluation by a Rangers fan this month. Zegras has more points this year than Kakko, had more points last year, had more points the year before, and has more points over his career. In fact, Zegras had 65 points last year, which is more than Kakko scored in his TWO best years. How you can think that the Rangers would pass on this fleece is utterly amazing.</div></div>

Moving U23 Centers who've already had borderline star production in their careers is somewhat unprecedented. Anaheim doesn't have any real reason to move him unless they get a great offer, and Philly desperately needs a young, projectable top-6 Center in their system after losing Gauthier. It also helps that York, Drysdale, Farabee, and Brink have all played with or are largely familiar with Zegras
