So you get a 28-32 overall pick and you give up the 60-64 this year and youd hope, a mid round 2nd next year. There ar ebetter odds of a successful player with the 1st than those 2 2nds

The NJD aren't giving up the 2nd overall pick for 2 years of William Nylander get real here.
Josh Freaking Anderson isn't returning Matthew Knies not even close.
Detroit accepts, New jersey rejects.
Your UFA signings are a royal joke.
Vincent Trocheck will get close to $6,500,000 x 5 to 6 years rather easily.
Reportedly Nick Leddy wanted $4,500,000 x 4 years to remain in Detroit, there's no way he's taking your low ball one year deal.
Per Eliotte Friedman Jack Campbell was offered $3,000,000 x 2 to 3 years and turned it down. So he's not taking your low ball offer either which is lower than what Dubas had offered him.</div></div>
not retired to stay on the pulse on everything. Is this are you Bobby?

Anderson actually can still play and provides something the leafs need and at 2.75 is worth it. I agree @ 5.5M its an overpay considering. I think on a good line like the one I have provided, he can actually score above his value (Bunting did on Matthews line)

That feels like an overpay for Anderson, maybe im overvaluing Knies though.
2OA is way too much for Bertuzzi.</div></div>
something comes back then. devils get a god cap hit for 2 years and he is cheaper than someone they will sign in FA. Honestly didnt even notice it was 2OA, been watching Oilers win playoff games :awesome
So ya I agree too much for bertuzzi. maybe another 2nd or late 1st back to flip for more help

Gaudreau gets more. How do you think the guy with the most 5v5 points in the cap era doesnt get paid as a top flight forward. Maybe Calgary doesnt pay $11M but some will pay more than $9.5M. Devils would love to land him for $10M + and then trade their 1st for someone else

i wouldnt love it either but i think you really are 5 years from competing, Weber, Price and Gallagher is a ton of cap that will be difficult to move. If anythign you are worse and can compete with the Yotes for Bedard

I just think of the toews trade with the islanders. those 2nds mean nothing with how he is playing.

You need to pay someone to take Lucic and Monahan goes on LTIR (he is done right?).
Gaudreau is closer to 11M and add another 500K to Tkachuk. I think many $1M extra for Mangiapane. Joel Farabee got more and he was mostly RFA years

They need some better D as well no? Muzzin long term injury, Holl not living up to what he did 2 years ago. Campbell played well enough IMO. These guys add a little more beef and physically to the leafs and do not sacrifice too much mobility

Leafs need physicality
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>GeneralLandro</b></div><div>What do you think he will get on his dew deal assuming he has a similar year to this last one next season</div></div>
less than $7M. Maybe $4M max (Farabee deal id $5M for example but flyers beleive there is more production there) You also know you will have him beyond next year as he is an RFA.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MrDinkiee</b></div><div>Jeannot is playing on Nashville's 3rd line and is two years younger, Nylander could play on the first line and has another year (also he's friends with Forsberg)</div></div>
But nylander can leave after 2 years. Jeannot may even play 2nd line here next year. Preds would be better off trading him for Fiala then Nylander

Why does Nashville trade for a guy with less team control and a far larger cap hit? Especially since they are rebuilding and Jernot allows them to since an additional player for a smaller cap hot that adds 40+ more points

I think Paul is more of a third liner based on ~3M cap hit. That just means Nuge is back in top 6 as a winger ( he isn't reliable enough for faceoffs)
Kane makes Nuge 3LW

Next Year - Flat Cap
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Bruins1054_gmb</b></div><div>Not that it helps teams much, but the Cap is supposed to go up to $82.5M next season.</div></div>
Suppose. I wonder if it does considering how much players owe the league still and large markets had limited or no capacity for 25% of the season. NHL is very much a gate driven league unlike NBA and NFL.
If anything its a conservative add the extra 1M would be a bonus.
