KYLE TURN UP GAP YEAR
Not a bad effort. The D group and goaltending is spot on. Chatfield probably gets a little more $ per and gets 2 or 3 years, but he's the right type of player. Can't see Stammer signing w/ the Hawks, especially for one year. I'm going to be surprised if he leaves Tampa. PK88 coming back would be awesome, but seems unlikely as well. But I do expect the Hawks to be aggressive in free agency and sign at least two top 6 level forwards. As for that trade, Hawks perspective just keep Reichel. Can't see why Hawks make that deal

Next Year
As discussed in your prior Utah post, Hawks aren't spending a 2nd on Hayton. He just doesn't have that sort of value. Hawks also won't target Dillon or any other LD as a free agent other than maybe a depth left shot guy who can play both sides as their 7th D. I'm fine w/ Carrier and Foegele. Instead of Mantha, Hawks need a middle 6 C. Reichel isn't in the lineup. He will be for sure. Entwistle, Johnson, Roos won't be re-signed.

2024 Starting Lineup
Nope. Sorry, but this isn't close. Vlasic is the #1 LD and is getting 6+ years at $5m min. OEL doesn't get signed. Neither does Zaitsev or Tyler Johnson. No one is paying a 2nd for Hall coming off his knee surgery. Nazar is not a 4th liner. Dach is not a C. Utah probably ends up w/ Celebrini. Shall I go on?

Calgary back to Reichel era
Forgot to mention in my first post
1. Dumping Huberdeau is impossible, nobody is taking that contract off us, especially without us taking back equally as significant cap.
2. Even if we did manage to dump Huberdeau like this the projected cap floor for next season is 64.75M and the roster limit is 23 player per team, so even though you sit above the cap floor by 140k right now you would have to place at least 2 contracts in the minors and that would make the team illegal.
If we are trying to bring back a famous family name to the city then I would rather we just draft Iginla this summer

I agree with drafting Levshunov if you don't win the draft
You are also below the cap, I suggest bringing in a top 6 vet. Personally I think this is the perfect team for Toffoli, gives you guys another goal scorer and you will actually be able to offer him the term he wants without it harming you down the road

I agree with your assessment of Dach, but his waivers exemption has already expired, so he has to stay in Chicago unless we want to have him claimed.

I like the thought processing but its been confirmed we are rebuilding. The likelihood of going after FA like this is slim and some of them could get more money elsewhere and better chance to win.

I'm not seeing your point here lol. You're saying if GM's were wrong about Kapanen they can also be wrong on Hagel? If that's what you're trying to say that is a fine point, but from a hawks perspective it really doesn't matter what one person thinks he's worth, it is about what we can actually get in terms of trade value which is what I have been mentioning. Its possible for us to both be right. A GM would likley be willing to pay what i'm suggesting in a trade and later down the line we might see he wasn't worth that. My point is true right now and yours is just a guess though at the end of the day. I'm pretty sure Tampa would say it was worth it to trade Foote+1st for Coleman a few years ago

If I was GM
Would be a mistake to get rid of Stillman. He's been absolutely solid in a physical shut down role. Caleb Jones is fine a puck moving utility player, but he is heavily reliant on his partner. Stillman can be a shut down pairing with Murphy or play next to Regula or Mitchell next year as he complements them.
Galvas, Stillman, Phillips in my opinion all are guys we should keep.
Borgstrom needs to get moved, another bad project by Bowman. Khaira I'm indifferent about. I agree with Johnsson, move him if you can.

Who is playing to stay
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Juiceman</b></div><div>First off, there’s nothing sensitive about saying how bad this trade is for the Canucks. Secondly, we’d rather not acquire for DeHaan. Third, we have plenty of depth forwards to fill in for Sutter, don’t need another. Fourth, Klimovich was a second round draft pick this past draft so saying he’s worth less than that makes no sense, fifth, you clearly don’t know how LTIR because it doesn’t give you extra cap space, plus, we have enough cap space already.</div></div>
Once again a bunch of people getting all angry about trades without reading the description. The guy knows they aren't good trades. He is just fantasizing about having Podkolzin on a line with Toews and Kubalik. Chill out! Also, LTIR does give you extra cap space. Contrary to popular belief, LTIR salary still counts against the hard cap it just allows teams to exceed the cap based on the salary of the player on LTIR. Therefore, it does "give you extra cap space". Even if that wasn't the way it worked and it just subtracted their cap hit from the balance of the clubs cap, it would still be giving them more space. Also, Why are you people still booing Keith? It was like a billion years ago and he isn't even a Blackhawk anymore. Get over it!

Looking at this proposal from an Ottawa's perspective, depending on their level of faith in Ian Mitchell, the value could be there. That being said, from a needs perspective, don't think they'd do it. They really need Zub. And actually, RD (and RW) might be the only organizational weakness. Zub, JBD, Thomson, Roger and Guenette. All the hopes are on these 5 guys

You're right but it's evident that some people take this way too emotionally, it's the words used or the guy using caps and swearing lol
Totally agree that the Canucks should say no, this deal would most likely be counter-productive for them

This is a Seth Jones trade that from a Hawks perspective I'd be OK with but if I'm CBJ I'd likely pass. I'd want a 1st rounder instead of Zadorov. Give me strome, 1st, Mitchell, + prospect or another lower pick like 2nd rounder.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DaKeGa</b></div><div>Fair opinion. If it is anymore than that for Reinhart then I would be more content paying half that almost for a Blake Coleman type that is pretty versatile as well.</div></div>
I expect Blake Coleman will be getting a payday similar to the contract that Brandon Tanev got from Pittsburgh. He’s a good energy line player, but so is Ryan Hartman who is signed in Minnesota on a nice multi year deal for less than $2 million.
Hell, look at the bargain contract that Eriksson-Ek just got and that William Karlsson signed A couple years ago. Those are two of the best defensive centers in the game. Sure, Bergeron, Kopitar, Barkov, and Stone hog all the Selke votes. But I would definitely say those two are excellent 2 way centers. Overpaying for role players doesn’t win you a Stanley cup. Only when your role players are outperforming whatever you’re paying them do you have a shot at winning a cup.

Chi wins draft and trades Laffy to Ott
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DaKeGa</b></div><div>I agree that it is a far-out offer. That was the purpose to get a reaction of how far someone would go for the 1OA. Realistically however, 10 of the last 20 drafts show most likely that 1 guy can be valued over 5 other 1st rounders. A coin toss really, plus the offer had 3 more bodies returning, Nylander, an 8OA in the first round, Highmore a solid checking line forward, and Entwistle from team Canada and will be in the NHL. Lafreniere is also the undisputed 1OA which happens less than half the time as well. Not saying that Ottawa should or will do this, just showing that it is plausible that the trade could end up being 10 years from now that Ottawa would win that trade. No one would take that chance however.</div></div>
If it cost more than 5th + 18th + 33rd + Logan Brown, plus maybe another 2nd, I don't think it would be worthwhile. Being guaranteed a star 1C like Stutzle or Byfield is too huge to pass up, even for Lafreniere.

fair enough. I do think OTT would give the most, but IF the Hawks actually won the lottery. They keep AL for sure. They did go #3 then #1 in back to back year before....Toews/Kane...who knows.
