Get this
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Sabres_Insider</b></div><div>why would the sabres give up a second to get a 2nd line centre.
The sabres are not trading draft picks this season. they have mitts, lazar, or Cozens who can fill in line 2</div></div>
And they will lose Taylor Hall at the deadline, and Stall Next Season. Stall is a Rental both for Buffalo and for Toronto (Should they acquire him ) So you get a cost controlled all round piece that is 10 years younger and produces as Stall and you get a second rounder. Sabres might make the playoffs....

They would just because Kerfoot could actually help the Sabres. Low cost .5 per game center that can move the puck. Added benefit + a second round pick for a UFA who is 36 and likely will not resign. It Sounds like sabres way of thinking.

No, but with the buyout payload that is what you face. It is rather cheap and easy to plug though. I put Rosen in there, he is reliable enough, you could get Del Zotto back until the Deangelo mess clears out

As for Reilly: are TOR fans that down on him? He's a top5 dman in the league IMO.</div></div>
Toronto fans love Reilly, me too. Reilly is a powerplay specialist. He has been paired with some pretty bad players over the years, and perhaps it is unfair. I think Leafs should try something else.

Rod who is extremely cheap." He then politely wishes you a good day and ends the call.</div></div>
But before he gets to that he remembers that his boss loves Morgan Reilly!

People don't really hate him, nor do I. I think he is one of the best offensive defensemen in the NHL. Defensively he leaves a lot to be desired. Leafs have other puck moving defensemen in the pike.

I like Severson and all, but he's not Rielly.
So this makes the team worse.
What's the point of that?</div></div>
Point is that Severson is a good RHD who is not Reilly in terms of offensive production, but he is way better defensively. This would open spots for Sandin, Dermott, Lehtonen. I think Reilly is pretty much Barrie - a powerplay specialist. Sandin, Lehtonen can be that.

Creative Nylander Trade
I appreciate all the feedback guys. I don't want people to get into a fight. I think different fan bases view their current players with bias, I know I do. My thoughts when I did the armchair on this one was to try and unite the Nylanders in Toronto. Trades are somewhat reasonable. I get that Logan Brown and Alex Nylander are valuable assets which is why I would want them as an ACgm. I did include valuable return according to evolving wild. I think anybody would have a hard time looking at the trades and free agency this year and use reason to disqualify anything.

Lillypad wouldn't make our roster and probably not anywhere in the foreseeable future as he's stuck behind Boqvist, Murphy, Mitchell, Seabrook and likely Regula at this point all on the right side.
We are not parting with Nylander for Holl, dermott, Kerfoot, Engvall or Lillypad. These are players that Hawks don't have use for. Sorry, not trying to be rude here.</div></div>
In your opinion what would Chicago want in return for Alex?

Actually Ryan is a Dman besides, Leafs do not need 4 powerplay quarterbacks. They need competent puckmovers who can play defense for 2-3 years. Ryan is a stopgap and i am pretty sure he will be a par with Ceci. Dermott is a loss but you are not getting anything out of nothing. Habs needs to get younger, Dermott will help on their left side, and Barrie will help their powerplay. I know Barrie is a rental, maybe they can resign him or maybe they cant. But then they have capspace prospect, and they need to turn it around.

Leafs dont need Barrie. He looses all puck battles, and they have to put him on the pp to pad his numbers. Reilly can do that. Savard =RD shut down guy with one year of term is exactly what the leafs need. Is Ceci better than Hainsey? A lot can be said about Hainsey. He plays a simple game, and is slow. But he is very good at never getting caught out of position, Ceci is not. Hainsey is 1 million less

To be completely honest, I am not opposed to that wild trade. It could actually work for the leafs. I think the wild decline though.</div></div>
I watch the Marlies on occasion. I like Liljegren and Bracco a lot. Bracco is in a tough spot on the Leafs and he is a powerplay specialist. Liljegren is awesome and young. I just think that Leafs blue line needs more toughness. Cernak provides that, compared to Liljegren. Liljegren clearly is a better puck mover than Cernak and probably has the best growing potential. But I want a young shutdown Muzzin type RD that can be moved up and down the lineup, and those aren't cheap.

Based on what? Leafs needs a cost controlled goalie backup not an over payed RHD who is replacement level. Goalie will have a bigger impact. We are talking about upping winning back to backs. Ceci has been alright. Holl has not been worse nor has Sandin, but they are 3.7 million less.

You can talk to each other in your native language. It does take a bit of getting used to because of pronunciation differences.(85% of words in either languages exists in the other) Danes and Swedes though has a VERY high proficiency in English. Frankly speaking most Danes and Swedes switch to English these days when talking to each other. Norwegian, Danish and Swedish is very easy to read regardless of where you are from out of those 3 countries.

It is an overpay and something Tampa might not realistically look into. I think Cernak is basically Colton Parayko in the rough and it will cost you.

Cernak is a versatile stay at home defenseman with some offensive upside. He kills penalties. Dermott is good, and Liljegren might be. Leafs cant resign Barrie, and they wont resign Ceci. This is a proactive move. Sandin will replace Dermott on the left, Cernak will replace Barrie on the right. Better balance.
