Carolina and Florida pass, Carolina is in their cup window and they're not trading Martin Necas for futures.
And zero chance in hell of Florida retaining on Spencer Knight Especially for Cayden Primeau who doesn't have much value.

Canes aren't trading Nadeau for a player that would be 3LD on their team.

Can’t blame him, he didn’t play

Making changes
Doubtful that gets Necas. Danielson will likely be very good, but he isn’t as dominant as I would have imagined he would be in the WHL currently. Definitely a little bit of a red flag. Besides, Canes are looking to upgrade on Necas if they move him, not take a package of futures.

Rebuilt it
Canes pass. Orlov was brought in last year so we wouldn’t be scrambling to find a stop gap between Skjei and Nikishin this offseason. He’ll just be moved up to the 2nd pair when Skjei probably walks.

1) Why would the Canes want Blackwood?
2) why would the Canes give up Orlov to bring in a 4th goalie?

Andrei Svechnikov
Guhle is good, maybe even great - he would realistically be our #3 until Slavin starts to slow down, unless Nikishin lives up to his potential in which case Guhle would be behind him. I know he *can* play RD, but Rod does not like defensemen playing their off side, and I can't see the front office trading Svechnikov to break that rule.
Ultimately, as has been said multiple times, the Habs and Canes are not good trade partners, but there are very very few players that Waddell would trade Svechnikov for and none of them are on Montreal.

Svech
I'm not sure that Jersey accepts the trade as is, maybe switch Lauko for Boqvist?
I personally don't see Holtz as a good replacement for Svechnikov - Svech plays as a power forward and forechecks well. Holtz is much more of a sniper, and is smaller to boot. He is also the most valuable piece in the trade, as Boston's 1st will be very late, and I just don't value Frederic that highly.
I pointed out in a post yesterday that while Svech isn't "untouchable", he's right up there on the current Canes squad. I would doubt if he is ever put on the trade block, and so the price to buy him is going to be pretty high.

Player top 6
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Campabee</b></div><div>Necas doesn't have Suzuki's value, I would be hard pressed to say he has Zegras' value since Zegras has consistently been a 60 point player and Necas has 1 70 point season and the rest are at less than 55 points. If Necas has Suzuki's value then Zegras has Draisaitl's and Suzuki has McDavid, how does any of that make sense? Zegras and Necas are both terrible defensively, both are big top 6 forwards who's fanbases see them as centers, Zegras is younger, more consistent, puts up more points generally, has a better contract situation and won't be going to Arbitration looking for a 1 year 7+ mil deal so he can head to FA and get a much larger contract. Hell even Zegras' ceiling is higher than Necas and Necas has been in the league longer</div></div>
okay... just LOL.

Typically with Necas I tend to think, "what would I want to move Nick Suzuki" and then I just stop myself from posting Necas trades.

Next year
Canes wouldn’t be looking for an LHD in a return for Necas. They have Slavin and Orlov already under contract for next season, and Nikishin when he comes over would put Matheson into the press box from being 3LD. There is likely only 3 players that the Canes would be willing to move Necas to the Habs for, and the Habs aren’t going to move any of them. As has been many times, the Canes and Habs are not good trading partners for Necas.

Doubt the Canucks have anything else they can offer that would make sense for Necas so that ends my dream of him and Pettersson on a line together</div></div>
Hronek might be of interest, but not at the expense of Necas. The biggest problem would be the contract he wants, and from what I have heard, it sounds like he is wanting more than what Q. Hughes is making, which is just not worth it.
