No reason for Columbus to do that. We're not in a cap crunch, either, it makes way more sense to hope for a Laine bounceback.

Detroit passes, Shai Buium wants to play with his buddy Carter Mazur in Detroit.

And good luck with Patrik Laine who's missed some 200 games in the last 5 seasons. The dude is worthless and will never stay healthy.

FYI Shai Buium is a 3 year player at Denver therefore you can only sign him to a 2 year ELC not 3 year ELC. And he should be signing his 2 year ELC with Detroit at any time since their season is officially over.

we don't need that much help reaching the cap floor. Laine is the opposite of a GMMG player.

You can trade Blackwood, but not to the Canes. And why Orlov?

You can't. The Jackets do not have any cap pressures, so if you want him we need to be getting back value commesurate with that of a top-line scorer. And we don't need depth pieces, so it'd have to be one or two quality assets. Because otherwise we're far better off just keeping him and hoping for a bounceback post-PAP.

1) Why would the Canes want Blackwood?
2) why would the Canes give up Orlov to bring in a 4th goalie?

I’m sure he can bounce back but I don’t think anyone is spending assets equal to a 1st line scorer for him at the moment. 128 games in 3 seasons, a bit of a risk to spend high quality assets on someone like that.

Probably not. We don't expect him to be leaving.

I assumed not. I think the idea here by the creator was if they wanted to get out of that contract and for cheap San Jose is the spot. $17 mil isn’t so easy to move generally.
