Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Cue the Carolina fans telling me Necas is worth more than Matthews. That is a fair offer for an offense only player.

Anderson needs a change of scenery. All the people claiming he is unmovable are wrong. multiple 20 goal scorer - large body, rumors there were offers for a 1st last year. Perfect fit in Chicago, he is a leader and good vet (was apparently one of main leaders during playoff run) and basically costs nothing.

Hawks pass. Anderson is a cap dump, and an expensive one.

Does trading Necas for that hodge-podge of assets make the Canes better?

No.

So why would they do it?

Not the right pieces for Necas. I agree with the other posters that have said this, MTL and CAR are not good trade partners.

Morrow's coming out of college, and has less counts of sexual crime against him. Use the 30 million in cap space to re-sign the rest lmao

Why would they re-sign Skjei? Slavin and Orlov play LD, Burns, Morrow play right, and whoever on the cheap free agent market can play 3rd pairing. Necas Guentzel and Jarvis combined won't make 30 million. Maybe 20, depending on a Jarvis bridge deal.

that's kind of epically dismantling the d core of a team that is going to challenge for the cup. that's an interesting take - i would bet you that does not happen.

i would bet that one of necas, guentzel and jarvis doesn't stay - and i bet it's necas. maybe the deal is better but i think he moves.

Then Habs should have taken that offer and ran with it. Anderson is negative value to a rebuilding Hawks team.

"multiple 20 goal scorer" - Last year and then way back in 2018. Anderson is trash on an overpaid contract with 3 more years left. Donato has been better offensively than Anderson and he hits too. For 40% of the salary cost.

Gonna need a 1st round pick + to move him to a rebuilding team like the Hawks. You are way under the cap, so just keep him for yourself.

Pesce's not coming back, his dad has confirmed that, Skjei makes no sense to bring back because Orlov's here. People just forget Orlov exists. Morrow takes a spot on the backend full time, and the third pairing can be whatever. It doesn't really matter because after next deadline, Nikishin will come across. It makes Skjei completely superfluous.

So close on that Anderson trade. Just take out the 3rd and add Montreal 24' first rounder with no protection going to the hawks

if necas could play center as well as suzuki, he'd be playing center right now. Just as these offers for him are low balls saying he can play center so including suzuki in the deal coming back is ludacris.

Think you forgot to add assets to that anderson trade right?
normally a massive cap dump requires very good assets to move. Like slaf or mtls 1st

How much did toronto to pay to dump one year of marleu?
How much did calgary pay the habs to dump one year of monahan?
habs are dumping 3 more years of anderson and his horrible contract.
So on second thought slaf isn't enough. slaf and two 1sts.

Ok let’s park this. Mark my words if they trade Anderson this year - they will be giving up nothing. Not a pick or a player. Yes He is having a massive down year, but this is the type of player coveted in this league, and there are many many old school gm’s who will take a bite at rejuvenating a guy who has really only had one bad season. It will happen - mark my words.

Buddy every year for him is a down year lol. I like your optimism but he only had one good season in his entire eight season career so far.
I really think the habs are stuck with him because the market dictates it would take A LOT for them to dump that contract.
If there was a market for him he would be gone by now.
