I think moving Byron anywhere would be this move right? PHX are already on the deep end and can't afford anyone else. Busted the cap space.

Option B - Duclair Brassard
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>villenash</b></div><div>The reasoning behind the NSH trade makes no sense. Why would Duchene play wing to Johansen? Forsberg and Arvidsson are his wingers. And Duchene has been good at center in NSH, he just had a down year in terms of production. He needs to get some wingers and that's what NSH is trying to do. They were in on Hall and are in on Hoffman, so that's their direction. Having said that, that's still a good deal for NSH - even for their 3C spot.</div></div>
Not saying he will, just a guess that they may try to get a power line; both an basically play on the wing or center which helps when they need the goals. Danault, like you said would fit in well to fill in that 2nd spot or play on the third when he's needed.

A move like this will unmistakably make the team weaker and there isn't really much more to it. There would need to be some kind of kicker to make them consider this move, and for now there isn't.</div></div>
Ok, your view point. No prob.

You guys have never seen him play. Byron brings leadership to the Sens team which they will need with the 2 new first rounders coming in. Plus they need to hit cap Minimum.

Thinking Kotkaniemi or Suzuki fits the bill. Not a pending UFA C they can't afford to keep.</div></div>
In a TB with cap space I'd agree with you, but they are back to the wall; need money to sign Sergachev and Cernak who aren't cheap. Danault will provide then with the help they need now, and an option if he fits the bill to sign next year with 11M$ available, or trade him out at deadline. With two more picks, they will be all set. Plus in 2yrs, they need to sign Point again, and he won't come cheap. So with Stamkos out, they get space. Brisebois is a numbers guy, he calculates 10 moves ahead.

Read again... I put in that the trade and 1st pick would be because Danault signs multi-year deal with them.. *facepalm*.. And next year, they may have to fight for him versus dealing for him with a done deal to keep him..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pinslack</b></div><div>If it's not Hall I hope it's nobody unless it's a 1 year deal
Duclair at 2m 2y (highly doubt) would be OK
Brassard/Koivu/Martin are good targets. Richardson/Gauthier at lower cost
I could add that Brassard would be priority because Bergevin seems to target PP players (Simmonds, Hoffman, Hall). Best cheap PP players out there</div></div>
Agreed. I always go for Brassard on most teams I'd like to see. He's one hell of a player, wonder if he'd like coming to MTL for the same terms I gave Duclair here. I went for Duclair on this one because he's a MTL home boy, so it would appease some of the backlash Timmins and Bergevin got for not drafting Lapierre at the draft when he was still available.. Take the injury away he's a top 10 player so I also think they should've taken the chance.

Don't think we're overpaying.. Who know how Pittsburg are going to do next year. They are ok at G but not great; While they still have Malkin and Crosby, they should be between the 10th and 16th NHL teams. So it's not a bad pick and you don't need to twist Guerin's arm to make the trade.
There might be better options out there, but we haven't heard them yet through the rumor mill.

I'm thinking Dallas would match that offer for Gurianov. They have space this year, plus next year when older players come to term and become UFAs.
It's a bit much (4M$), be he showed the potential, so I think they'd match.

Taylor Hall and Loaded Offense
Not to be mean, but Hall hasn't signed yet, so this would mean he's getting offers and exploring them. Which means, 6M$ isn't going to cut it. Him and Hoffman will probably hit the 8M$ and 7M$ cap hit respectively.
Plus you need to take into account that with this line-up, and cap space.. Your team has 0$ to bring up anyone if 1 player is hurt during the year. You need to plan for a 22-23 roaster team and still have at least 350K$ of space in case injuries happen.
Plus once Kempný is back (If he comes back this year at all) you just busted the cap space by over 2.5M$. Not a good thing. They would need to trade out an asset with a high price to bring back a player who has a major injury.. This is if he comes back by end of year of course.

Price for Weegar
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>BeerLeagueTendy</b></div><div>MTL is weak on LD, Dermott would be an upgrade</div></div>
Don't get me wrong, I like Dermott, but we're not weak on the LD. We got Edmundson, Chariot and Kulak plus some good young players coming up like Romanov and Mete that can round up RD or LD when we need it. Plus he'll be asking for a cool 2M$ minimum with his numbers and MTL is trying to get an offensive UFA right now (Rumors are Hall, Hoffman, ect but who knows what'll happen really), so cap space is going to be an issue.
He's worth the 2nd pick, that's for sure. But not for MTL at this time .. Just my opinion. Still would like this if we didn't have Kulak or Chariot right now.

My moves
Duclair seems to have a bad rep.. But for me, I like him. If he comes to MTL you have Weber and Price who are tired of not contending for the cup so they'll put him in his place, plus you have his raw talent that produced in Ottawa last year. He's a MTL native so this would also help with all the comments about HABS not having enough QC born players in the NHL line up.
I like this!

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Riley816</b></div><div>Why do the Sabres have to overpay to help Montreal get rid of Drouin???</div></div>
Got the comment in the wrong side.. Actually MTL overpays to get Drouin's contract out. Sabres get Mete as a good Dman with experience, and Drouin will play well with someone like Staal. They get a good 2nd liner to play with Staal.

New Team
This team would give the offense we need with Hall pushing Suzuki and Anderson in the right direction;
We get older blood with Brassard who can still produce as a third centerman, but be moved up if need be while providing advice and mentorship to Suzuki and KK;
Bring in a Mtl native in Duclair, he's able to produce, replace on the first line if the need is there, and has been talked against by some bad mouths out there, so he needs to bring it back up and prove himself as a competitive player but also be put back in his place with the leadership of Weber and Hall.
Trading away Drouin to Buffalo will provide Buffalo with a good player, but also a good up and coming Dman with NHL experience. They give up a young prospect that has not been able to prove himself as NHL ready from the games he played, but with the Laval coaching team he may get his second wind.
The big piece is the trade with Minnesota which they get their new second line centerman who can play 1st line; they get a good prospect plus fillers to develop. They do give up a 1st rounder but with Danault there they get better odds at finishing higher in the league so would become a higher pick between 15 and 25 which is not a high price to pay for Danault and Poehling.

WTF BERGEVIN
Well see. He's got potential, with Suzuki and KK as centers he could go back to his 20+ goals a season. He'll also cost less than Domi, he wanted a 5 to 6M$ hit for 4 to 5 yrs. Anderson will hit the 3.4-3.5M$ for three to four years (My guess). This will bring in more space for Gallagher, KK, and Lek who'll all want pay raises next year.
He a bigger player also, in line with what we need right now to get more power offense.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>thesaadfather</b></div><div>Your reasoning is even worse than the trade. First of all, the Hawks can’t take on Danault’s cap hit now, and they certainly won’t be able to re-sign. They’re sure as hell not going to trade 17 OV for a player that is just a rental when they’re not even competing. Second of all, what the hell are you talking about with Strome and Dach? Sure, they can both develop more, but Strome is already a top 6 center, and Dach played like one in the playoffs. If one of Toews, Dach, or Strome gets hurt, we’re still fine at center.
This is a garbage offer and you clearly don’t know anything about the Hawks’ situation. Don’t like it? Then glad for you.</div></div>
So move on with your life.. from what I've seen you have no clue either on how to trade.. but you're crapping on other people... Makes sense ...

1. Detroit doesn’t want to trade Mantha nor is he disgruntled
2. Hab fans have some weird obsession with QC players
3. Inter division premium
4. Detroit doesn’t want Domi or Mete
5. Detroit would be robbing Peter to pay Paul
6. If KK or Suzuki aren’t included there is no point from Detroit
We’ll probably need to copy and paste this a few times in the daily Mantha to Montreal ACGM.</div></div>
