What he said ^^^ they won't move Getzlaf, not enough for Lindholm, and I'd rather sign a Vatanen/Shattenkirk/etc. and keep Guddy for 1 more year.

Ducks Fans - I want you opinion
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Lenny7</b></div><div>I started typing out my response to this post and re-did it about 6 times. What you said is exactly what I wanted to get across. Prospect-wise, Terry/Steel/Comtois/Lundestrom all have basically a full season or less experience at the NHL. If this team could somehow remain healthy (they were one of the top teams in the league when it came to man-games lost to injury), and sign someone like Brodie, I think they realistically have a chance to become one of the surprises of the next year or so.
I'm also not convinced that Eakins is the guy, but he definitely deserves a shot with a full/healthy roster.</div></div>
Thanks haha glad other fans feel the same. I think its easy to get super pessimistic after two pretty frustrating seasons. I'm really not that worried about the kids...yet. I agree that I'm not totally sold on Eakins yet but he deserves at least one more full season, maybe two. Never thought we tactically outsmarted anyone but at least the guys played hard and competed most nights. I really hope 1) we aren't stuck with an internal budget below the cap because 2) I really think we can weaponize our cap space (roughly Kesler's LTIR of about 6-7 mil) or sell good players on good contracts for a premium price (Lindholm, Rakell). The next two offseasons I really think we have a chance with the flat cap and expansion draft to acquire some legit talent at a discounted price.

Don't want to come across as a Bob Murray stan but he did lead the team to the most successful period in franchise history... 5 straight division titles, 6 straight playoff appearances and 2 trips to the conference finals. This notion that he doesn't know what he's doing or isn't the right guy to lead us out of this seems a bit overblown to me. We weren't very good around 2010-2013ish and we came out of that pretty well. You can argue we had prime Getzlaf and Perry to lead it, but based on pedigree Zegras and 6 OA should be as good or better. I don't think the kids Jones/Terry/Steel/Comtois can be any worse than last year and all have shown flashes of being pretty good. Cap wise we're pretty well set up for the future, no true boat anchor contract besides maybe the back end of Fowler. I'm thinking we should start to contend in 21-22 or for sure 22-23.

Ducks with Domi
I like Domi, near identical comp for Rakell except Domi can legit play center. I suggested Rakell for Domi near straight up but that was having already traded Rico in a package for Laine. Idk what MTL's needs are or what they are hoping to get for Domi.

Totally agree, value is close to fair maybe a little skewed towards the Rangers. I think we'd rather take the CAR first or a top prospect over Buchnevich. DeAngelo is really interesting because I have no idea what his value is, if this year is legit and not an outlier... he's a stud and could probably go 1 for 1 for Lindholm or close to it. There's just a lot of risk in projecting that, thus why his value should be somewhere in the middle.

So this trade is basically undoing the Montour trade (a late first and guhle for montour) then Rico and Silf for the 8th OA and taking Okposo's deal? This is ultimately all hypothetical because I don't see anyway GMBM brings Montour back, but I'd still probably lean towards no. I hate the term on Okposo's deal. Rico and Silf for 8th OA and a roster forward on not an awful deal I'd consider. Still not sure if that's enough depending on the forward. I think Silf is worth a mid to late first rounder on his own, Rico probably a late 1st.

Discord GM Game team Ducks fans rate my rebuilding moves good or bad
Alright if I'm going trade by trade: I'm good with taking on Bjugstad's salary to then flip him for Tyler Johnson. I like the Tyler Johnson trade. I'd rather keep Gudbranson than Stralman bc Guddy wasn't that bad and Stralman's deal has more term on it. McMichael for Rakell is probably pretty close to fair value, I'm just not super familiar with McMichael's game so I'd usually prefer a D prospect of similar level or a 1st rounder. I'm iffy on Risto bc on the surface seems like a young legit RHD, but all I hear is how bad he is defensively (ik you end up flipping him for Pulock later). Loved the Manson trade, I think a 1st and a legit D prospect would be great for him, then we get EJ who's probably better than Manson currently. I wouldn't take Stralman to begin with and then not sure I'd flip him for Helm (I'd need to look into contracts more for them). Think Greenway is way overrated. Don't like the package for Heinen. Think that's a bit much for Pulock and not enough for Fowler.
So in short I'd take like 3 (PIT, TB, COL) of the trades you proposed. Maybe the WSH one.

Wouldn't do that Larsson trade. He sucks but I'll give him another year, not worth bailing this early just to get a 4th. I'd do that Ehlers trade if 1) Drysdale isn't there (we really need the RHD) and 2) one of Holtz/Raymond/Rossi/Quinn are at 10.

Another Ducks fan coming in peace, take out the two 2nds and put in your 2020 1st and I'd do it. Lindholm is great and would likely resign, we just have a million LHD guys and think we could get a great return in a flat cap environment.

Youth down the middle
I think Domi for Rakell is pretty close to fair value, maybe picks or expendable prospects could get thrown in. Lindholm should fetch more than a first and Kulak though. I'd say either add a mid-tier prospect (Juulsen or Fleury) or take out kulak and give up one of your better D prospects (assuming Romanov is untouchable so maybe one of Norlinder or Harris?). Went off the prospect rankings Pronman just put out so if the prospect tiers are way off blame him, I'm not super familiar with your system.

Small Reset
Pretty steep package for ehlers, a hard no from the ducks. I proposed something sorta similar for Laine with an extension. I think the move down from 6 to 10 might make sense though if Drysdale is gone. Really like Jack Quinn and if we could get him at 10 and then use the value from moving down to go towards a young goal scorer like Laine or Ehlers think it might be worth it.

In-Depth Offseason Outlook
Pretty well done write up, completely agree with most of it. I think Vatanen or Barrie make way too much sense for us, but not sure if Bob will pull the trigger. It'd have to be short term though so we don't have to worry about expansion protection. Part of me wants to get sendy and just take a swing at a Nylander or Laine, but that's probably not the responsible thing to do. I think we need to move one of Larsson/Guhle and maybe one of the LW prospects to clear things up a bit.
