Point to MN
I received several negative comments when I proposed Skinner, Faulk, Gauthier, a 1st round pick for Point and cap dumps Callahan and Dan Girardi
I think this offer gets zero thoughts from TBL

Could this be an option?
You are giving up an NHL ready defenceman, the best goalie in the AHL, a 2nd and a 1st for a guy who hasn't been in the league for years and was burried by a domestic assault scandal? You are out of your mind.

Meant it more as a jab at leafs fans who think every player would go their with the idea of a guaranteed cup.

NYR have no reason to give up Beleskey as cap dump since they have plenty of cap space already, and Hayes is worth at least a mid round 1st which your package don't provide in value

Pacioretty was 161st (<a href="http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?report=skaterscoring&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20172018&gameType=2&position=F&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,40&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=goalsPer60Minutes" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">http://www.nhl.com/stats/player?report=skaterscoring&reportType=season&seasonFrom=20172018&seasonTo=20172018&gameType=2&position=F&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,40&filter=gamesPlayed,gte,1&sort=goalsPer60Minutes</a>).
So you want to trade a middling 2nd line goal scorer for a poor one who's older, but won't be around as long, and also throw in a first round pick, a 2nd round pick, and a prospect?
The Caps are good enough to win the Cup as is. If they make trades, it's to stay this good for longer. I know there are teams that overpay to get veteran leadership, but they aren't usually teams that just won the Cup. Those teams get to be on the other side of this kind of deal. The Caps have a #1 goalie, a future #1 goalie, three #1 defensemen, two #1 centers, and a #1 wing on each side. They could logically trade Niskanen for a surefire future #1 defenseman plus picks and prospects. They could trade Wilson for a first pick, if they aren't getting anywhere on salary negotiations, and replace him with a grinder off waivers in training camp, and Ovechkin and Kuznetsov would still be a solid first line. There are definitely possibilities to explore for trades with the Caps.
The way to magically turn Burakovsky into a thirty goal scorer is to quit healthy scratching him and just play him on Nick Backstrom's left or on a line with Ovechkin and Kuznetsov for one year. Boom. Thirty goals. Done. Still got your first pick, and have RFA rights to a thirty goal scorer, whom you can then trade for another first pick, after you sign Pacioretty as a UFA, if you still think he's a better fit.
He isn't though. Pacioretty had 17 goals last year. Burakovsky got that as an NHL rookie and then ran into a Trotz ceiling. If he plays 20 minutes a night for 82 games, Burakovsky is a 20 goal scorer next year. Pacioretty's 20 goal scoring days might start again, or they might be over. The above trade is worse, on paper, than Forsberg for Erat, even before you start adding picks and prospects to the wrong side of it.</div></div>
You can’t use one season of stats to compare players. Paciorettys worst season in his career and your trying to say that a 23 year old player is better then him because f a season where he played 63 games.
And your actually wrong, Pacioretty has never been a 20 goal scorer. Never in his career has he finished with between 20-29 goals in a season.
He is a 30 goal scorer.

Why do leaf fans think they can trade Marleau. He has a NMC for a reason, to be on cup contender in his last nhl seasons. San Jose has their now cap problems without adding marleau. To think Marleau would even consider being traded to cap needy, non playoff is just leaf fan day dreaming.

NYI 19-20 Roster
While the values on these deals are not bad at all, I would argue a lot of the logic is missing.
it's highly unlikely Montreal would be buying at the deadline (no offense Habs fans).
Washington could just sign any of the retread goalies that float in FA year to year.
Why are the Islanders giving up a 1st and 3rd to move Ladd when their cap is flush in your post?
Colorado would likely not be a buyer for Lee, their still a bit away before the "final piece" move.
The Eberle deal is the only one that makes sense.
Finally, how are you convincing Duchene, Panarin & Bob (not one, but all three??) to sign for a team that you pointed out had a horrid 2018-19?

Best first line in hockey?
This is basically taking the three best forwards from every team, which means there would be lots of teams that would be close or better than this.
BOS: Bergeron/Marchand/Pastrnak
WPG: Scheifele/Wheeler/Laine
DAL: Benn/Seguin/Radulov
FLA: Barkov/Huberdeau/Hoffman
TBL: Stamkos/Kucherov/Miller
TOR: Matthews/Tavares/Marner
STL: Tarasenko/O'Reilly/Schwartz
PIT: Crosby, Malkin, Kessel
WSH: Ovechkin, Backstrom, Kuznetsov
Not saying they're all better, but they'd give this line a run for their money for sure. I'd probably take PIT, WSH, BOS and WPG over this line. McDavid is fantastic, but Draisaitl had a mediocre year and Nugent-Hopkins consistently underwhelms me.

As tempting as the offer is, and I would sweeten it with the forward prospect you pick, I don't think we can afford Trouba. Not even trading away Kapanen would do it . . . probably have to unload Nylander to keep Trouba after this year. But thanks.

Dermott took a good step forward last year, why push him to the number # 7 spot on D????
Gardiner should be dealt so he can be bumped up.
I doubt Jets would do that trade, they don't need Nylander long term.
They need a better D long term.

take a chance and trade at deadline
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>skriko</b></div><div>you dont understand hockey do yah ??,,, anybody that has ever played knows you make the playoffs at all cost</div></div>
That is the mentality that gets you finishing 7-9th every year. Ask NYR why they traded MCDonagh, Miller, Stepan the past couple years for picks and prospects? Not to make the playoffs the next year. How about STL trading Stastny at last years TDL?
Teams say they are trying to make the playoffs all the time because they have to but in reality they purposefully sabotage their team in order to assure they finish at the bottom of the rankings in order to get a top end talent in the draft which will lead them to multiple playoff births in the future. Sacrifice 1-2 years in order to be a good team for the following 10 years afterwards.
Edit: This is also a bad trade. Hudon had more points as a rookie than Ryan did last year and is way cheaper. Maybe you should ask yourself if you know how hockey works before blasting others.

i agree the players might think that way but players don't make management/future decisions for the team. Patch is going to be gone before the season or in a worst case scenario the deadline so we don't lose him for nothing, Hudon has potential and Ryan has nothing. The only way Ryan should come here is with picks as a cap dump from Ottawa that might help them and another team get a trade for Karlsson done. We will be looking at the standings from the bottom so there will be no need for a push for the playoffs. I think GOLDENDELICIOS has a good understanding of this.

Replace Lindgren with Hudon and there might be a deal here. Well, I’d be interested in that deal. Treliving might be set on CGY’s blue line and unwilling to make changes to it right now. Giordano/Brodie was a lethal pair a few years back.
