That's too much for Pesce. Start with the Ekholm deal and drop the bid based on term and ability.
Also too much for Konecny, but maybe I'm higher than most on Holloway. Foegele had 27 points at 5v5 last season and Konecny had 32. Is that 5 point boost worth all the stuff you gave up? Not even close.

I think he means within reason... like you aren't going to ask for Connor McDavid for Brett Pesce. There are a couple of pieces I might be interested in coming back to Carolina

I think this is a good deal for TK, and while I'd personally want the 2024 1st it would be silly to not consider this deal on that basis alone.

I think jack Campbell is a great goalie. Not sure why it's not working out in Edmonton. Toronto forgets how many games he kept them in and how great he played in LA to de=throne Quick. Edmonton needs to dump that salary though, no two ways about it.

At this point Edmonton can pick one more *** asset (maybe Nurse or Klef) to trade for a goalie/defender pair like Hart and Gudas (or similar...:Lyon/Montour). McDavid, Karlsson, Dreiseitl, Hart...nice ring to it. I bet you Torts would love Nurse!

Nah I disagree, karlsson at 7.5 mil for only 4 years if fair, Mesar is a fantastic forward prospect, Allen is a fine replacement and we lost Campbells contract without giving up anything extra? I say yes to this deal honestly, we still have assets and room to make a move for Pesce or another top 6 RW.

The Oilers will counter with just one of them.
That’s the game, that’s what Pesce will cost.

Sign Pesce to a 3 yrs 6M per contract starting in 24/25.</div></div>
A first Broberg and Ceci is just too much to pay for me. I’d feel like Carolina committed highway robbery

Ken Holland would make that deal immediately, without hesitation.
Broberg is not taking anyone’s position on defence, that’s a fact. He might get 40-50 games but he’s unlikely to move anyone out.
Oilers problem is 5v5 scoring.</div></div>
I surely hope that interest in TK isn't that strong. Oilers fail again and again because defense is not elite. I agree that 5v5 scoring can be improved but they have bigger weaknesses that need to be addressed first. I'd rather give up the 1st for a RHD.

Ceci might be a start, he’s RHD but if you think a mid level prospect & a 3rd, 4th liner gets it done you’re out.of.your.mind……
Try Broberg - Ceci - Bourgault or Lavoie plus picks…
Even then the ask might be Holloway - Broberg plus picks..
Remember, this team has Tulsky & he will want top grade return.</div></div>
If you consider the Ekholm trade it puts it into better perspective. Ekholm is a better player, he had the playoff run and now three more seasons AND Nashville retained money! They got a 1st and Reid Schaefer (last years late first round pick A- level prospect), Tyson Barrie and moved their 6th for our 4th round pick. Okay. Now Pesce isn’t quite as good and only has this one season remaining under contract and it’s known he’s not resigning in CAR. They get a first, B level prospect, quality third liner and quality replacement dman with two years left on his deal. So to me this is a fair trade

Ceci at 3M for two more seasons is a good cheaper replacement player for Pesce in the lineup especially year two when the cap jumps. Then you add Foegele who now has value because of his play in the playoffs. Now a 1st and a B level prospect for a guy that won’t resign in Carolina I think the offer is close

Your offer may be fair, in your eyes. But it wont be the best offer on the table, not even close.</div></div>
Nobody wants to play in Buffalo. McDavid and Draisaitl is much more appealing. That Eichel trade did the Sabres no favours. The org is still viewed as second rate and its in conference. EDM easily wins any trade vs them in Pesce and the Canes eyes.

Itd be more worthwhile for the canes to just run it back one more time than trade for what will be 27th overall or something plus Cody Ceci of all players.</div></div>
Broberg is great prospect and can turn out well. Ceci could thrive in the canes system if deployed correctly. The first round pick will turn into solid prospect if the canes play their cards right. Not to mention the second round pick is in the deepest draft in years so the canes could get a real gem. However if they do ultimately decide to keep pesce over trading him for picks and prospects that would understandable as they have a solid chance at a cup next year. However I believe this trade i have made here is a realistic return for pesce considering his expiring contract.

Parayko holds the cards here, but he also been poor for 2 seasons. I think Management would be relieved to get rid of his contract. Where there is smoke, there is fire. Edmonton would be the only place he’d waive his NTC to go to according to this article:

Lavoie, is not a bust. He has taken massive strides this season, actually. He is trending to make the team next season. I’ve been following this player, including watching all his games over the past 4 seasons and I wanted to trade him last summer, because I felt he was a bust. This season he really turned his game around.
If you care to read this, here is an excellent summary (with video) on the top goal scorer and the most consistent 5v5 player in Bakersfield this season:
https://oilersnation.com/news/amp/the-edmonton-oilers-prospect-report-raphael-lavoies-2022-23-season-review
Clearly you don’t watch Oilers games on the regular. Kostin wore the same uniform, but barely shared the ice with 97 or 29.
He generated his goals on the 4th line mainly, with some time on the 3rd. Linemates were mainly Janmark, Ryan, Bjugstad and McLeod. He had a primary assist on 2 McDavid goals, 27 Feb vs Boston & 1Mar vs TML.
Draisaitl had 0 points on Kostin’s scoring stats. Klim Shady has a wicked hard shot, scored on an off-wing wrister vs LA in the 1st round that was measured at 97 mph…. He could be a 20 goal scorer in this league as a 3rd liner, but he’s gonna get paid.

I think there are a few teams who can overpay Yamo's last year who can also make use of him. Whether or not the Oilers get anything in return is another thing. Maybe add a pick with Yamo to find a pending UFA rental? Who knows. We'll see.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Gronk9911</b></div><div>Thanks for the feedback, I actually like the one year deal better.
I gave both Brown & Bjugstad bonuses built into the contracts,Brown would go from 1M to 3M depending on bonus structure & Bjugstad would go from 1.5M to 2M depending on bonus structure both being games played, points, goals scored & plus minus.</div></div>
I saw the bonuses but they're still not favoring the players long-term. Brown is 29 & Bjugstad is 30. Very important time for NHLers.
I'm curious what the market is for Bjugstad tbh but there will be competition and EDM isn't in the market to overpay bottom 6 guys.
