I think this is a good deal for TK, and while I'd personally want the 2024 1st it would be silly to not consider this deal on that basis alone.

Going by what he said on Luke Gazdic podcast.

The 1M is explained in the comment section above, Browns contract and Toews contract would be bonus based. 1.5M in bonuses. So the actual contract would be 2.5M.

That's too much for Pesce. Start with the Ekholm deal and drop the bid based on term and ability.

Also too much for Konecny, but maybe I'm higher than most on Holloway. Foegele had 27 points at 5v5 last season and Konecny had 32. Is that 5 point boost worth all the stuff you gave up? Not even close.

I don’t think the Pesce deal is bad ether way.
TK is a 60 point player if healthy and probably a 70 to 80 points playing with Draisaitl or McDavid.
TK is a nasty player too, a true Marchand type player.
I think the deal might be a bit over, but TK is a player Oilers could use.

You gave up 3 first round picks for a 1 year rental defenseman and you think that's a good deal for Edmonton? Okay then...

Not a chance Konecny gets 70-80 points in Edmonton, as he's not getting 1st unit PP time. He literally scored just 5 points more than Foegele at 5v5 last season with better linemates. How is that worth giving up essentially 2 firsts + 2 seconds? And at twice the cap hit of Foegele too.

If you think TK isn’t better than Foegele I don’t know what to tell you.

Oilers traded the1st round pick and 4th overall pick (Puljujarvi) in order to move money to make the Ekholm trade work.
Then they sent Reid Reid Schaefer a 1st round pick
They sent the 1st overall pick in 2023
They sent a 4th overall pick.

Let’s count the 1st overall picks together 1 - JP 2 - Schaefer 3 - the 2023 pick

Now before you say anything else, You’re going to say the JP pick went to Carolina……Yes, but Holland mentions in the article the Ekholm trade was the main reason JP was traded.
Ether way, the return on Ekholm was 2 firsts and a top ten scoring RHD.
So your giving up to much isn’t any different then what the actual team gave up.
