<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MoxNix</b></div><div>What's with Kuzmenko anyhow? He looked pretty good last year but this year he isn't worth his salary... Good for Vancouver that he's UFA next year but really bad for them trying to trade him now. About the only way the Flames would be interested in him now would be at 50% retained. He is a right shot forward who can score goals and that's the Flames biggest need right now.</div></div>

A few things.
1. He does not play the style Toch wants, he isn't a hard fore checking dump and chase guy. Which is the style Toch likes to run on the offense. And when they do carry it in, he is never the one doing it and when he does he loses it 90% of the time.
2. He often doesn't play the right defensive position and make the right play, hence why in road games or "important" games he's been scratched or benched in close games.
3. He lost his bumper spot on the PP to Boeser, and lost his "trigger" man spot on the top 6. So his lack of production is largely impacted by that.

He really needs a change of scenes or change his play style. But as mentioned, his contract having 1 extra year beyond this one, hampers his ability to be traded without retention. I do think he holds positive value, he still obviously has skill. He just needs the right system (like what Bruce there it is had).

Kuzy would not be a negative asset in a move, he'll probably be a neutral asset for cap reasons. IE Beau in the Horvat trade.

I'd argue Lindholm and Horvat would gather about the same value. From a perspective in this trade to bring Lindholm to Vancouver. I'd argue 2024 1st, Raty, Kuzmenko, 2025 2nd -&gt; Lindholm + 2026 3rd(getting it back) is fair.
Or swap could see a swap of Raty for Brzustewicz or Hoglander, but then I don't see the 2nd/3rd above being involved then.

The 2025 2nd could be anything of fair value, due to the Isles pick last year was protected due to the potential for it being a top 12 pick being high, where as Vancouvers honestly is looking like in the 26-32(I hope it's 32) range.
