final deadline moves
NYR don't need a pick when they're trying to contend, they also don't have a stable replacement for Schneider and their D depth is already very then. Easy decline. Just take a 3rd round pick and Zac Jones for Patches and call it a day.

The Rangers can afford his full cap hit without issue, but that along with his NMC means the cost would probably be reduced to a mid/late-round pick.

You can call Verbeek in the summer to talk about it because a) the ducks can't retain and b) Chytil has serious injury concerns. Answer is still going to be no, but you can call and ask.

It is not nearly as wild as your original trade. How is Buch a player that maybe gets you a first?

NYR counter with a 5th rounder. If you want any more they decline.

Fiscal reality
Can see Lindgren moved at some point...but right now is a bit premature...the depth you speak of is unproven. If Robertson emerges AND either Lundqvist or Jones fits as an adequate 3LD- then Lindgren can be moved. My guess is he's probably here for at least this year....but could be traded as soon as Christmas. As far as a destination for him... I think the most likely would be a contender - or a team looking to push themselves into contention (maybe LA??). Don't think a team in full rebuild mode would really benefit losing assets to take on Lindgren.

Anaheim needs no assistance reaching the floor. We either take on bad contracts packaged WITH picks, or we go sign someone in free agency.

Kadri amp Kane
I can’t see Chicago or Arizona retaining millions for 6 years. The payment would be astronomical

Lets See It
Miller is practically a top pairing left d man at 22. Othmann is gonna be needed to score goals in another year on his ELC. Byfield likely will be the best player of the 3 when their careers are over, but giving up 3 guys who could play in the lineup with an ELC for only 1 is kinda tough given the cap issues this team has. Well maybe not if they think Jones and Robertson can step into the lineup. Meaning Lindgren - Fox, Jones - Trouba and Robertson- Schneider. You know thinking about it I don’t necessarily hate it.

Druryplan going for it
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>With this much turnover your team would have the chemistry of an expansion team.</div></div>
Our core is the same Kreider, Fox, Shesty, Zib, Panarin, Lindgren, Schneider, Miller. Trouba is really the only guy from core we are moving here. The rest are either kids or role players.

aging C on short term deal
malkin was pretty clear about wanting a 3x6+ deal at the minimum also bonuses count towards the cap sooo that whole imaginary bonus thing you got going on doesn't work.
he just declined a 3x5 from pitsburgh the team he has played for his whole career so i doubt he's gonna give anyone else a discount

Trouba buyout
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>JFMclem</b></div><div>If the Red Wings let Kakko accept an offer sheet after this trade, they'd receive 3 1st Round picks, 1 3rd round pick, Nils Lundqvist (B+ prospect), and some throw ins. How much higher is the ask on Larkin than 3 1sts?</div></div>
It's a lot higher because he's valued in Detroit a lot more than just his stats. He's the leader on and off the ice. Who's even going to offer sheet Kakko? He'd have to be offered more than 4.2m to even have a 1st coming back. He's not worth that cap hit. And the pick coming back probably wouldn't be a top 10. Mike Milbury isn't a GM anymore so it won't happen. So the trade would be Larkin for an underachieving former #2 overall pick and two late first rounders. Hard Pass.

How does a rebuilding Blackhawks' team trade Fleury for a 5th round pick, but then the Rangers flip him to Vegas and get a 3rd rounder and Reilly Smith? Why doesn't Chicago just trade him directly to Vegas? They can eat half his salary. And then, if the Rangers or someone else wanted Smith, they would get something in return for him, too.

a three way trade i came up with last night on the forums
Rangers don't need any retention at all on Chiarot. So them paying a premium for it is just not something that's gonna happen
