Don't you mean pretend the Buffalo front office were good human beings and let Eichel get the surgery he wanted?

Think FLA declines. Knight+Lundell > Shane Wright.
Stars probably accept though. Blackwood's made from glass but he'd be a solid 2G for Otter.

(TBL/CHI) - 2x 1st, Katchouk, Raddysh for Hagel, 2x 4th
I like this trade for the Blackhawks. Hagel is a great player, loved him in Chicago, but shooting at 22% and a team needing draft picks. Cant go wrong here. W for Chicago.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>jasonliq</b></div><div>jack eichel got a roster player prospect a first and a 2nd scheifele isnt eichel</div></div>
Vegas carried a lot of risk that Eichel would never play hockey again if the surgery didn’t work. Also factor in his salary hit and that limited the teams interested thereby limiting return. Scheifele is 4M cheaper for 3 playoff runs. A lot more teams can fit that kind of player in their cap structure meaning bids go up.
The proposal above really doesn’t address any of Pegs needs. Nils would be ok but we already have too many small offensive defenders.
I must admit, I don’t expect a huge return for FeFe, but the above proposal is woefully inadequate as it does not have a prime piece coming back like Laffy or Schneider.

Bruins Sell at the Deadline Begin Rebuild
Nothing was too out of line here, *if* the bruins decided they were out of it (maybe mcavoy gets hurt or something). Then I saw Carlo for Klingberg. That is disastrous for any sort of rebuild. Like, about as bad you could ever do.

Holtby has been decent for Dallas, but not amazing. This is a massive overpay, I don't even think Holtby is a starting goaltender anymore. Everyone thinks Vancouver ruined him, but no, he just isn't that good anymore, at least not consistently

Next Year
The San Jose trade illustrates a commonly-held misconception: that it benefits a bad team starting or in the process of a rebuild to dump bad contracts. Wrong. Developing Wiesblatt and the player taken with the first is what is going to help the Sharks improve. Conversely, the Minnesota trade is wrong because good teams don't get better by dumping good players to create cap space.
In short, Vlasic and a first to Arizona makes sense if Vlasic is on the Wild, not the Sharks.

Well, sure..?
You could pay Adam Fox 11m and come out with a good deal. How many players making this money or above are actually better than McAvoy? I'd say Stone, Kucherov, Eichel, Matthews, Panarin and McDavid. That's 6/20. Maybe Vasilievsky..? So a third?
I just don't.. I don't understand how this is a bad contract unless you compare it with an incredibly good contract. Nurse and Jones are making this type of money soon. In a world where people are massively overpaying young RHD, paying one accordingly seems pretty fine to me.

Fantastic deal. One of the best D in the entire league signed through his prime. Arguably the best 5v5 D in the entire NHL. Excellent, excellent player.

One of the best defensive pairs in the league is locked up for 8 years in the same price range as a few individual declining defensemen. That's unbelievable given the defensive market right now. Both Pulock and Pelech are on steals that will only look better as the cap rises.

Nobody from Zibanejad and down is better than Hertl except for Eichel, who you for some reason have at 20. Honestly some of these names makes me think you watch hockey with your eyes closed. Lindholm?? Kuznetsov? Suzuki after one above average year?
These are the stats that matter and show Hertl is top 15-20

Tampa can't afford Dumba they're already up against the cap next season, And no freaking way does Hampus Lindholm sign that lowball offer. he'd just stay in Anaheim for basically the same money he's currently making now.

We won’t know until then. I’m sure no Oilers fan ever thought that Wayne Gretzky would ever leave either but …. He did. Imagine what your take home income would be at $12.5 million in a tax free state like Nevada.
