The guy who is 3.20/0.899 in the AHL this season, or the guy who is 2.69/0.916 in the AHL this season?
Right, then, now that we have agreed that Petersen has a significantly greater trade value than Prosvetov, let's talk about whether Chychrun is worth more than Turcotte, Grans, and this year's first-round draft pick.</div></div>
Did you forget the part where Petersen’s cap hit is 5 million?

Both players have been awful in the NHL, obviously small sample size but Holtz has played with better players in the NHL.</div></div>
I don’t see anything in their post draft seasons that indicates that Rossi has clearly outproduced Holtz at all

Or you could see them trading him so that way they don't have to pay him and have more money to fill out the rest of the roster? Or is that still a "pipe dream" in your eyes. You're so close to getting the point but you just keep skating around it.

And then how about what Fiala got? Did MIN also get fleeced? Two teams trading RFA wingers got fleeced? Or is it that's just what their value is because they needed to be signed to big contracts that many contenders cannot afford and many tanking teams do not want to pony up draft picks while they suck. So it's a smaller portion of the market than you may think and thus leads to diminished returns than many expect. But according to you we need to use Tkachuk as the benchmark and completely disregard the two other RFA wingers that were traded last year, got it.

Meier and Bratt
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>comparing basketball to hockey is foolish. they are completely different in hockey you have 4 lines in basketball you have 1.
in hockey you have the ability to set up 1 defensive line to offset another teams top line. and when you don’t have depth teams focus on elite players and limit their ability, put that player on a deeper team and he flourishes much like Kane did when he left buffalo for the sharks and then the sharks for Oilers.</div></div>
So we should value Meier based on expected performance and point totals that he's never come close to because he'll be playing with better teammates? Any GM would be laughed at and fired if that's how they operated. Meier is closer to DeBrincat then Tkachuk in terms of situation and points totals. And that return should be closer in line but less because DeBrincat is younger, scored more goals, and has a full year of contract + RFA vs Meier who would be half a year of contract + RFA!

Yeah, that's never been how that works. A basketball player scoring 20 ppg on a dog**** lottery team isn't gonna be seen as more valuable than a guy on a contender putting up 27 ppg, even if the player on the contending team has better teammates.

How are you going to insult me and then just ignore the fact that that's still a 14 man roster? So Seabrook goes to LTIR, then you have 10 million for 9 spots. Let's say Colton get's Paul's contract as you said, that leaves them with 6.9 million for 8 other spots. Or just as logical a scenario is Colton pricing himself out and them trading him so that way they have cap to work with instead of having 8 guys on minimum contracts. It's not a pipe dream at all to think they trade Colton. I guess management wasn't your strong suit in school.

Look to the future
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>ChucktheFNG</b></div><div>Nyquist with half retained is worth a late second round pick and a sweetener. But his value fluctuates around here.
Peeke is pretty much untouchable right now since he just signed an extension and is one of three healthy NHL starters on the team in the d-corps, but his value would be inflated due to being a top 4 RHD. He's been shopped by most non-Jackets fans around here for stuff like this year's third and a middle/bottom 6 center/cap dump player.
Korpisalo is an absurd case. After last years' hip surgery, he looks like the old Korpisalo in the limited action he's seen so far. He's traded straight up for a 5th, but I think he garners much higher favor with other GM's by the TDL if he stays this course.
Gavrikov is the big sell for the Jackets this year if he can't get the extension. He's highly valued mostly because he's a bargain deal for his cap hit. Incredibly underrated by non-Jackets fans, but undeniably a very good shutdown LHD. The bidding war will probably end around a late first rounder, a late third rounder, and a decent to good prospect.
Roslovic may need a change of scenery, but he's shown in the past that he could make a push for a #1 Center spot if he gets his consistency problem in check. Not sure what to value him at, but I would ask for a 2nd rounder next year.
Marcus Bjork literally played his first NHL game this week and just signed to play in North America over the summer. I don't think anyone has a real value for that guy yet, but hey he's a goal a game d-man so far so you should buy high on him.
Sean Kuraly is going nowhere unless it's an over pay. He's been one of the more consistently decent/good players on this team. If Kuraly and Roslovic both go I don't know how this team replaces their boring commercials every commercial break about local hockey. With all that said, I have no idea how to value him. A couple mid round picks possibly?</div></div>
I wanna say you’re crazy for thinking Gavrikov will return a 1st, 3rd AND a decent/good prospect because that would be a HAUL for a rental non-star player unless there’s an extension but this is the same league that gave up a 1st rounder for a rental Chiarot last year so I’ll reserve my judgement
