To play what position? I don't think you appreciate how good Alex Vlasic is, and how much they have invested in Kevin Korchinski, or that Dickinson is not Makar.

Early May 2 Rounds
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>DH28Hockey</b></div><div>I don't really agree with that, Demidov is better but with fairly limited experience and multiple DY injuries, and you could make a pretty fair case that Dickinson > Levshunov (I don't necessarily agree, but I wouldn't call that take outrageous). Given next years draft is forward heavy, if CHI likes a defenseman with that top pick I don't think that's a bad selection at all</div></div>
You do realize Vlasic just completed his rookie season and ranks top 3 in the entire NHL in the defensive zone while playing top line minutes against the competitions most difficult assignments. Dickinson is not displacing Vlasic in other words. Then behind Vlasic is Korchinski, who was the youngest defenseman in the entire league this year and 2022 #7 pick overall. Behind that, Hawks have 4 prospects/young players who are fighting it out for the 3rd line.
So in other words, no way will the hawks draft another LHD guy.

NYI Trade in summer
I like the Celebrini pick! Hawks would make that Islanders deal but not too sure the Isles would. Do the Isles really want AA? Hawks wouldn't consider trading Reichel for Barron without the Habs adding. Which the Habs probably wouldn't. I honestly don't see the Hawks trading Reichel for less than a 1st despite his poor season this year.

I would love to have Pesce with Korch. Sadly 4.5 doesn't come close, he will get much better offers from contending teams.

I think Chicago is about a year or two away from making a big move like Reinhart. They'll add this offseason, but likely not a 7+ year deal.

Nice idea. But the Hawks won't be making any long term commitments to any UFA's from this year's class. Think guys like Marchessault or Tanev on big money 2 year deals.

Chychrun Is Gone
Hawks easily decline. Branny is a decent player, but he's not a need in Chicago. The Hawks left side is all set for next season and beyond. Hawks also aren't looking to collect more mid round picks either. There is nothing in that package the Hawks want to take on Korpi.

Realistic Roster
Demidov is great, my thought process was to draft the elite RHD this year as we are bare in that department as well, and then draft an elite forward next year in a forward heavy draft.

Realistic Roster
Other than Leshevnov, this does seem pretty realistic. I agree w/ Jeep. Leshevnov goes back to college for a 2nd season if Hawks draft him. But I also think Demidov is the better choice. Not sure Turbo takes a 3 year deal unless Hawks up the salary quite a bit, which they could obviously do. Pretty solid job on this!

Nice job w/ the lineup. Not sure either Domi or Tanev will sign in Chicago, but positionally, you nailed the two biggest needs. Not sure Kyle is going to trade for a 6 foot tall D man or that Utah is ready to move on yet from Soderstrom. As for the draft, I'm on board w/ Demidov. And I'm a fan of Charlie Elick w/ the Tampa Bay 1st.to address RD.

Strapped for cap space
Chicago has two goalies in the minors with better save percentages that cost way less. Knight could still end up being a stud but his value is relatively low right now.

I don't want this to sound insensitive. How's Knights progress been going under the players assistance program? I'm open to the idea, though.

But they don’t have Knight’s potential and cap space is not a problem with Chicago and that would be the idea of taking a flyer on Knight needing a change of scenery

Meh, if someone told me the Habs had to move Dvo for a 3rd if they wanted to bring another vet via free agency like Toffoli or Monahan, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
Just depends on the situation. What if Habs draft a Center (Celebrini, Lindstrom, Catton) and they prove to be ready at training camp and Hughes needs to make room for them? Zero issues dumping Dvo for a 3rd.

Hawk cap Dumps and off-season for fun
The trades are interesting (if not all entirely practical) but the UFA deals are universally bad. Overpaying mid players in a terrible UFA class doesn't make sense, period, on anything but 1-year deals.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jeep71589</b></div><div>Yeah I have been reading about a lot of Prospects also and really like Willander for the Blackhawks. I was thinking the same either picking him with our 2nd rounder. But now I am hearing he may not even be there at 19th which blows my mind. I am figuring they draft forward heavy at least there first 3 picks. If they could add another late 1st and someone falls I could see a dmen then. Exciting time of year with such a good draft, so much cap space and draft capital.</div></div>
Yeah. Honestly, if I'm Davidson, I am not looking at defensemen in the 1st round this year unless we get at least two more 1st round picks, which is highly unlikely. Addressing goaltending and RHD can wait. We have time, and there is always free agency if prospects aren't ready when CHI switches gears into playoff mode.

Please DO NOT draft Daniil But. Not that high, at least. There will be much better options that fit CHI's needs and vision a lot more closely. I personally wouldn't even consider him unless he were still available in the 3rd round or beyond.

If Murray was 35 then sure I bet you could convince him, but he’s 29 and has a lot of years left. If he’s healthy then he’ll play.</div></div>
Just a note, he was eligible to play in last game of the playoffs....he was actually in the lineup on the bench. Leafs fans think LTIR is get outta jail card (cap hell) for free. Actually the NHL doctors have the final say if a player is eligible for LTIR.

I swap the '23 TBL 2nd with VAN's '24 2nd. That gives VAN the opportunity to poach Byram from COL or Miller from NYR.
