Playoff Push
Those two adds in top 9 niederreiter and namestnikov are pretty much perfect fits, scheifele on the wing is growing on me, not sure if it’s matching extensions with helly growing, but appreciating it non the less. Don’t mind another swing at Vegas in the playoffs if that how it lines up, jets do owe them a ousting

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TheEarthmaster</b></div><div>A bunch of things can be true/logical here:
- Parayko isn't a top pair defenseman on a contending team
- Parayko's contract is sketchy at best
- The likelihood of Parayko actually playing until he's 37 is extremely low, so the contract probably isn't as sketchy as it appears
- Parayko is the best defenseman on the Blues, full stop
- The Blues defense is extremely bad, so the previous is sort of a backhanded compliment
- He is still a more than adequate top 4 defenseman and has put up solid defensive numbers even in his "down" years
- He hasn't had a top four caliber defense partner since early 2020, and even then it was Jay Bouwmeester so
- He would absolutely be one of the 3 best defenseman on the jets, full stop.
- Pionk was good offensively as recently as a year ago
- The Blues don't really need another good offensive defenseman
- Pionk is bad now
- Heinola is exactly the kind of young defenseman the Blues need to be targeting if they want to quickly turn around their defense core, and that's the obvious reason the Blues do this
- The Blues are rebuilding and you don't rebuild around 30 year olds, so it doesn't make a ton of sense for a rebuilding to shoulder the risk of that contract, and that's another reason the Blues do this
I've said before I'm not really in the mood to move Parayko, he'd be the last guy I'd get rid of and my first choices to move would be Krug and Faulk (respectively), but they simply cannot have all the same top 4 defenseman next year. Parayko might be the best of the current guys, but he also might be the only guy you actually can move. I wouldn't say yes to this specific trade if I was the Blues (or the Jets, frankly) but there's much much worse ideas out there than this one</div></div>
Am I missing something on Heinola? Maybe I just can’t get it out of my head that he’s been up and down for 4 years. Granted, he’s still very young. I’d imagine that it’s generally due to a flaw that he can’t secure a spot.

I'd give 'em that. ould cost less. I normally try to put the highest value, this way if it's lees then it's a bigger win.

Scary jets team. I've felt that way all year about em. Great game last night by them for the most part. I know they've been slumping lately, but I still think they are a major threat in the west. Really like the way pp1 looked. Really dangerous using the uncommon strong side setup. Really throws off opposing teams pk's when the umbrella wings play their strong side. Makes for accurate and fast puck movement

Back on February 23rd, the Jets said that Perfetti would miss a minimum of 8 weeks. If the minimum is what we get, and if he is game ready, then it looks like he could come back by game 4 of the first round.

Ouch. That's pretty bad for Winnipeg across the board. It's not very often a team makes 4 big trades at one time and loses all of them that badly.

I read some article about the Jets and it mentioned the lack of production from the bottom two lines, Stenlund goals against LA were the first from a bottom six Jet in like 13 games or something and the last bottom six guy before the LA game to score was Kuhlman and it was an empty netter.... 🤣

Hmm I'm gonna have to find this, just can't believe they didn't pull the trigger on Chycrun, only thing I can think of was the Coyotes had a bigger ask from a Central division team than an Eastern Conference team.

Assuming Kane would waive for Winnipeg, and that the Hawks would package Toews and Kane in a single deal, I don't think the value is too far off but the pieces aren't quite right. Hawks probably don't want Heinola. They have a pipeline full of left shot D prospects, including three who were on Canada's WJC team. Hawks would probably want another pick or another F prospect instead.

Central All Stars
Domi and Kyrou don't belong there at all. I know it will never be a possibility, national media will never look at AZ, but both Keller and Veggie are having all-star years on a really crappy Yotes team. Keller has hovered around a point per game the whole season. Veggie is nearly a full goal saved above expected per 60min on a monumentally bad defensive team. That is just one of his insane individual numbers. By individual numbers Veggie is the best tender in the league by a good margin.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>In all seriousness, we dont need a Smith type of player to use our cap space. We need a Toews/O'Rielly who can play shutdown that has cup experience and a good depth RD like a Schenn or Hamonic.</div></div>
I definitely see what your POV is but considering their is about 20ish teams currently buying and competing right now that is gonna make the buyers market very expensive and it just so happens a lot of teams are in need of a game changing veteran Center. Now if Winnipeg was to luck out and be outbid for their main targets I don’t see smith being a bad acquisition for that price, smith is better then nothing and with his previous play he could easily be a coleman, goodrow like factor for a competitive PO team.
That’s all I’m trying to point out

I understand what you mean helping us out in a cap scenario but in terms of skill level the only guy better then smith in Winnipeg’s bottom 6 is Lowry.
Smith hasn’t quite adjusted to Monty’s system aswell as everyone else which is disappointing but outside of this year smith has been better then Lowry for the rest of their careers.
If smith was to be performing like he did his other 145 games previous to this season he would make Boston even more of an uncontainable force, in which Boston would have no reason or want to move him. All he needs is just a spark to get him going again and I would bet you see all trade scenarios of his go away

Perfect time to bring up ville
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>arafay</b></div><div>Well, I don’t think bringing up ville is messing with it. Three different players have played in that 6th d role 11 games into the season, there’s nothing working about that. Adding in ville doesn’t mess it up, it potentially provides a solution.
As for ehelrs coming back, I welcome it. Our power play hasn’t looked the same without him. The 3rd line will still produce and will only get better. Gustafsson is getting better each game and Lowry is bringing a consistent showing. A healthy bottom 6 would only be more productive.
I’m still concerned about not having a true middle-sis guy though. Appleton is not a middle-six guy. Chevy needs to find someone in my opinion</div></div>
His name is Kerfoot lol. But for some reason Jets fans hate that idea.

The Scheifelen plan
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jetman</b></div><div>Nashville didn't get any better, Minny got worse plus had many ppl with breakout years last year and Dallas was hardly better than a failure of a Jets team
If the Jets can actually play like they are on paper, they could easily get into the top 3 spot in the Central</div></div>
I don't think 3rd in the Central is out of the range of possibilities either. I definitely don't see the Jet's finishing ahead of Colorado or St. Louis. If Johansen and Duchene regress, then I could see the Jet's overtaking them. I don't think Minnesota is going to be spectacular by any stretch of the imagination, but they will definitely be competitive and should make the playoffs. With Dallas, it depends on how the team adjusts to Deboers system, whether or not Oettinger takes a step, whether or not a guy like Marchment can come in and be a meaningful difference maker, and can Deboer get more out of guys like Benn, Seguin, and even Gurianov.
All of this is of course assuming that the team buys into what Bowness is preaching and Hellebuyck gets back to being a top goalie.
