Grier masterclass

claims Eyssimont off waivers from Winnipeg, trades him to Tampa for Namestnikov with retention, and trades Namestnikov to Winnipeg for a 4th

Solid depth pick up for this years playoff push. The 4th line all year as been a hodge podge of anyone that can breath, skate and hold onto a stick. I guess he wanted to contend and play in the playoffs. Maybe his contract included playoff bonuses. Whatever a solid bottom 6 rental for a 4th rounder considering the Jets injury situation up front. Good no risk, high reward deal. I like it!

Basically WPG trades Eyssimont and a 4th for a retained Namestnikov

I'd say Namestnikov helps a bit, he's better then almost any current bottom sixer the Jets have.

He automatically has the most points of our bottom 5(Lowry has more)

He waived cause playing in the playoffs is better for his resume to find another contract for next year.

Was surprised he wasn't able to fit back in in Tampa.

Remember in recent years Namestnikov was traded for a 4th or something and I thought Chevy should've grabbed him then to help the mid or bottom six.

I read some article about the Jets and it mentioned the lack of production from the bottom two lines, Stenlund goals against LA were the first from a bottom six Jet in like 13 games or something and the last bottom six guy before the LA game to score was Kuhlman and it was an empty netter.... 🤣

Exactly. Now we need a 3C who can play top 6 wing like Stas and Copp did. A top 4 RD would be nice but I think that window is now closed

Both teams should have kept Eyssimont. Oh well a 4th is good and Jets get an experienced playoff vet.

It improves the team in the sense it takes Saku or Karson out of the lineup.
