Miller to COL doesn’t work in the cap world especially with MacKinnon due a monster contract and Byram and Newhook extensions too. That all being said Miller would thrive in COL and the value purely on a trade basis is good.</div></div>
Erik Johnson's contract expiring accounts for the cap space needed for a MacKinnon extension. Calling Olausson Colorado's best prospect isn't saying a whole lot. Gotta give to get. Obviously Miller is only a rental in this case due to Newhook and Byram needing extensions the next year

I just realized there are players being drafted now that may not have been born last time the leafs made it to round 2

It really won’t I see the exact same issues as every year: no bottom six. Add to the fact there progressively made their goaltending worse I predict no playoffs this year

Or you know every fan base…how far you make it in the playoffs is a gauge for whether your team is headed in the right direction. The leafs have shown time and time again they have a roster built for regular season success and get worked over by much deeper teams in the playoffs when match ups become more important and you need depth scoring as your top scorers care more likely to be shut down in some key situations

I’m not saying he will play for the Rangers but it’s not like it’s completely out of the question. An example of a 0% chance would be Wayne Gretzky playing for Vancouver in the year 2100.

Nucks Playoffs
Pearson isn't even close to a cap dump. He's a reliable two way forward that can play up and down the lineup and has Stanley Cup experience and only 2yrs left at 3.25mil. There is always a GM looking to add a guy like that to their roster.

If Canucks decided to tank then they would be best to trade demko. No point keeping a goalie that can steal games if you're trying to lose.

Just going to focus on the first trade...
I feel like Columbus would put some thought into it, but the question there needs to be "Is it easier to fix the whole at C or RD?". Like, JT Miller is excellent...Definitely won't argue with you there. But, the opportunity to pick Nemec, and then package their other pick to make a move there might make more sense. I mean, if I'm Columbus, I'm probably taking a long, hard look at overpaying a guy like Kadri, and hoping that he bridges the gap to Sillinger.
It's not a bad idea, I just don't think I'd do it.
The rest of 'em?
-I don't know how I'd feel about moving a 2nd for Pearson. I guess if it was late it wouldn't be the worst idea. I'd probably shop the UFA market first though.
-I *think* if you expect anything back from Myers, you're retaining $1.5 ish mil. Otherwise, I can't see anyone jumping at taking that contract on for free.
-I see no issue finding someone to give up a 3rd for Schenn.
-Probably looking at a pick over a prospect like Korczak from Vegas, but they're crazy people so who knows.
-Poolman is a dump, IMO. Gotta pay to dump. Lots of similar not-so-great contracts out there, or, you can find the same guy for cheaper as a UFA.
-Arizona confidently says "no take-backs on the original deal!" :tearsofjoy

the only one i would concider to be an over value of miller would be the CBJ one, otherwise I think that the canucks could get more back, especially if you can work out an extension before trading him

Petersen is set to take over for Quick once he leaves (or can steal it from him next season), unless they find a better choice (DiPietro is still a few seasons off)
The Kings are the wrong partner for Miller (we have center depth and not looking for rentals), even Kings brass knows our window isn't open yet, so there is no reason to sell your valuable rebuild pieces to strengthen a division rival during a flat cap.
That being said, the Kings have high-level prospects for sale but not for rentals, they would rather have Chychrun and his friendly contract for 3 seasons over half price Miller for one season.
