<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>So it breaks down to LaF + #23 for #11 + Podkolzin

And then a 2nd to take Goodrow

Neither part of this deal is remotely appealing to Drury</div></div>

I would imagine Drury, if he trades him, would deal Lafreniere for a more proven player. Supposedly Vancouver is interested in Lafreniere, and so this is my take on the trade since Vancouver doesn't really have anything that the Rangers could afford to take on.

A lot of people think Lafreniere's value tanked a ton, and in my opinion, if that is true, he's still worth around a top-10 pick (probably picks 8-12 of this coming draft) since he's only 21. I've seen too many suggest that he's worth a late 1st or less. Of course, Podkolzin's value too took a hit with the season he had, Drury probably should have no interest in him considering how Rangers are struggling to develop offensive players but who knows?

If Drury still wants top 3 value for him then it would just be Lafreniere+Goodrow for 11th OV+Podkolzin+ a 2nd probably. Maybe a more reasonable suggestion would have been Lafreniere+23rd OV Goodrow for 11th OV+ Podkolzin+ 2025 2nd+2023 3rd (75th OV).

Then it more or less breaks down to Lafreniere for Podkolzin+11th OV and 23rd OV for 2025 2nd + 2023 3rd + taking on Goodrow.

Rangers would definitely accept without Lafreniere in even if you considered Podkolzin and Goodrow a wash.

Trading back 12 spots from 11th is going to cost a lot more than a 2nd-round pick in a future draft.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Jimbo1119</b></div><div>I see from BUF fans' responses they are adamant about not trading Quinn...which probably indicates this is a trade of comparable value. I mean the trade value I'm putting on Schneider here is that 95% of the trade requests from other teams seem to demand Schneider going the other way! You gotta give to get- yet BUF fans in this instance don't seem to want to accept that.

But I'll approach this from a different angle...great teams seem to be built down the middle and from the defense out. Quinn might be the best player in this deal- and we'll see over time who has the better career- but Schneider is seen as a pillar of the NYR D for years to come. There is a reason so many execs have checked on him. Don't want to diminish Quinn- but wingers are more replaceable than solid Dmen...and in Schneider NYR have a guy with size, good skating, puck moving ability, and a RH shot. Guys like Schneider are at a premium. And NYR need to add Sykora?? NYR have plans for both of these guys- Schneider to replace Trouba and Sykora to eventually be the mid 6 pest every real good team needs. So thanks- but I'll pass on this trade.</div></div>

I’ll throw another wrinkle here:
Quinn is our best/most promising winger player/prospect under 24. On the other hand, Schneider would be behind Dahlin, Power, and likely Samuelson. While currently the Sabres are strong at wing and weak at D, the Sabres can better fix the current D weakness without sacrificing our future strength at W.
