Watch it happen, Schenn will fetch a 2nd. Canucks reportedly turned down a 2nd for him at last year’s deadline

Demko Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>I'm judging him based off of both. In the past, Jarry and Demko have had very similar careers, very similar numbers. I care so much about those 15 games because that's how he's played recently and the Pens are absolutely in win-now mode. That alone makes Jarry more valueable than Demko *to Pittsburgh*. If they're going to have a shot at the playoffs, let alone another deep run with this core, they need someone who's good *now*. Demko is usually elite. He isn't right now, bad defense or good defense. And Jarry is. Why should we take Demko and hope he returns to form rather than keep Jarry, who's still playing at an elite level?</div></div>
Because Demkonat his best is better than Jarry at his best. A team in the Penguins situation might have to take a risk like that if they want another shot

Demko Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>I didn't propose this trade. I'm not the one who published this ACGM.
And I know that save percentage isn't always the best tool to measure a goalie's performance. But discarding it entirely, especially with the delta between the two save percentages being as high as it is, is foolish. How about this then: via Evolving-Hockey out of all goalies to have faced 600+ shot attempts this season, Jarry has saved 9.21 GSAx (15th). Demko's GSAx is -11.35 (50th).
And yeah, your defense sucks. Ours isn't great. In terms of shots against/60 (again via Evolving-Hockey), the Pens and 'Nucks are neck and neck at 7th and 8th worst (Pens let up ~0.4 shots more/60). In xG against/60, Pittsburgh is in the bottom half. The Pens' defense is average at best.
We're being bouyed by Jarry being stellar and a top 6 that can outscore our problems on occasion. The best goalies can steal games. Jarry does that for us a lot this season. I'd argue the Islanders and Predators are in a similar position, only a little more exaggerated. Demko clearly hasn't.</div></div>
Yeah sure judge Demko off a 15 game tough sample size, not the two previous years of eliete goaltending

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Haymaker26</b></div><div>Demko has a .883 SV% this season. Jarry's is .921%
Demko has a .909% on his career. Jarry has a .916%
But yeah, Jarry's absolutely the worse goalie.</div></div>
Save percentage doesn’t determine who the better goalie is. Demkos save percentage is greatly weaken by playing infront of arguably the worst defensive team in the league. Ask any NHL gm or scout, they’d take demko.
And if you think that Jarry is the better goalie then why would you propose this 1 for 1 trade?

Trade for Demko cause why not
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Hockeyfan1234</b></div><div>So the pens give up the better goalie plus more assets for Demko who is apparently toxic and been bad this year? Doesn’t make too much sense. To replace DeSmith would be a much likelier option. I doubt Dumo waives for Vancouver</div></div>
Wrong on so many levels. No one has a problem with Demko he’s not toxic and he’s clearly better than jarry

Totally agree. He’s the kind of guy you want to bet on. Character guy. I think a lot of his perceived struggles are a part of being on the dysfunctional Canucks.

It’s crazy that people think that JT Miller is so bad that he would take Connor Bedard to offload. Don’t get me wrong not a fan of that contract but that is completely ridiculous

Well whoever the buyer is, no one is giving a 3rd for the always injured overpaid Maurry. He’s been okay this year but hasn’t been consistent enough to rebuild his value that much

Boeser Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>First off, it's not really so that the Canucks are swimming in cap space.
It's been heavily reported that the Canucks are looking to move Boeser's cap without expecting much of value coming back to them, why else would they allow Boeser's agent / representation to reach out to other teams asking how he'd fit into their rosters.
Boeser is (and always has) produced at a decent rate, but he is still getting heavily outscored, outchanced and outshot at 5v5.
The Canucks are paying a very heavy price for the points Boeser is putting up, and I don't mean that in terms of cap hit but in that Boeser is responsible for giving up more goals against than he facilitates for the Canucks.
The question really isn't whether Boeser's overall game (good and bad) is worth half his cap hit, it's whether he is worth anything it all, let alone a 2nd and and NHL ready RHD in Walsh.</div></div>
The fact that Boesser is getting out chanced and outscored shouldn’t be an indictment of his play. It’s a result of his environment. Everyone on the team not named Petterson is also being outchanced.

Boeser Trade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Tintin</b></div><div>Retention is still needed cus Boeser is maybe worth half his AAV.
If Björkstrand got a 3rd + 4th, and Patches went for future considerations, both superior wingers to Boeser, I see no reason for why Boeser should return anything higher than a 5th rd pick.</div></div>
Because Vegas and Columbus were forced to move those players because they were over the cap after acquiring eichel and gaudreau. There is nothing forcing Vancouver to move Boesser, so a team will have to offer something of value to aquire him

I would take it, they overvalued miller last year lost out on great trade packages. Can’t afford to make the same mistake with Horvat. This fits the ask of 3 peices, a young center and a young RHD and a first in a loaded draft

There is no benefit to “sell low” on Demko. Either someone pays the premium package a top tier goalie gets in a trade or he stays a Canuck.
