Trade deadline Buyers
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>sharks wont need that and Arizona is cash strapped so I doubt they retain.
This helps both teams as sharks would then have enough space to buy out Kane this summer if they cant trade him and still resign Hertl.
and Arizona can pick up a decent prospect in the 2nd round and also have a top 9 RW to replace kessel and a solid defensive D man on a cheaper deal.</div></div>
It’s a pretty large misconception Arizona is cash-strapped. $5m of kessel’s $6.8m this year were a signing bonus we paid back in July to get the best return possible for him at the deadline. Retaining 50% really only costs the yotes a $100k or so, it’s really just about bringing his salary cap number down. If they didn’t have to retain to get him somewhere like in this deal that would be great, it means they could retain on someone else’s expiring contract

#painforshane
it’ll be alright.
Lambert, Savoie or anyone else in the top 10 isn’t a bad consolation prize either.

Yup
Unless it's literally straight up for Eichel I'm not joking in the slightest to put it in perspective would one rather have...
Eichel 5 years @ 10M$
or:
Chychrun 4 years @ 4.6M$

Smart getting Anderson to recruit Matthews. Love the contract buy low with high upside but I think Edmonton is gonna give him crazy money

Eichel Odds

It’s not heartless it’s business. If this is the best offer put forth then he has to take it. It’s not his responsibility to send him to a team he wants to go to if he has no say in the matter. And look at this roster and tell me it’s not a playoff team. Coyotes have been a 1C away from being a legit playoff team for the last 5 years.
And for the love of god, please educate yourself before you spout off uneducated things about the coyotes relocating because it’s not happening.

Your not getting Dumba for a 3rd and a meh-level LD prospect. Dumba's value was a 1st+ before expansion draft concerns then, same as it is now. Just because people think they can lowball us because of the expansion draft, doesn't mean his value is any less than a 1st+.
Either you give us Dvorak for Dumba strait up.
Or
Give us Hayton + your 2022 1st for Dumba
Take your pick, it's one or the other.</div></div>
Capob isn't a meh level prospect though
Almost scored at a point per game rate in the AHL last season as a 22 year old D and it wasn't a JSchultz playing with Hall/RNH/Arco situation at all
He nearly had the highest scoring rate on the team!
Why write such a big post while ignoring a key detail
It's not his fault AZ don't call him up more often

Canes pass. We arent retaining and arent retaining for that long. We could buyout Gardiner and have more cap space.

it's steep but i'd be willing to do it but i think kuemper is the most underrated goalie in the league. i also don't put much value on a 2021 1st since there's not much scouting being done. i like jost but i think he's replaceable. the only real loss to me barron but i'm comfortable enough with the avs defense to sacrifice a prospect.

We Suck So Bad - Blow it Up
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>coga16</b></div><div>hes an avs top prospect...teams moving goalies never get top prospects or 1st back, and considering Kuemper is 32 at the time of his contract is up, you arent giving up high assets to goalies to make the trade worth it, extending going into their mid 30s.
Kuemper is more a 2nd and a low-mid prospect, thats just the goalie market in general</div></div>
Difference is that Kuemper is a top8 G. Most available goaltenders on the "goalie market" are usually backups or 1B. There's a certain gap here. If Barron is projected to be a top4 D, it's a bit too much but I would think this is close to what ARI could get if they move Kuemper right now.
