    1. 2021 4th round pick (ARI)
    Additional Details:
Similar to the Islanders trade, and obviously is dependent on Johnson waiving his trade protection.

But the idea is the Coyotes help out the Avs by taking $6M off their books, and opening up an expansion protection slot. Johnson also gets to go somewhere, where (if healthy) he'd actually get to play and play significant ice time.

Jost gets a shot at top 6 ice time and all situations play (something he's not gonna get in Colorado) and the Coyotes similar to Bellows can give him a full run

Holland hangs up the phone as soon as he hears the name OEL. No way anybody wants that 6 year deal without 50% retained and even then the term still makes it a cap dump. Pull Broberg and our 1st out of there and maybe you have the start of a conversation.

I mean Jost is a top PK guy now in colorado and plays 2nd line powerplay, probily will see the same amount of ice time there as he would in colorado now that he's solidified the 3C spot. I believe johnson is waiving his NMC so we don't have to worry about protecting him either.
I don't think it's really that much to give up from colorados end but i think they'd be more inclined to send someone like bowers or someone else who is burried rather than jost to burn EJ's contract if they need the space

Would probably cost more than Bowers considering the Staal deal to Detroit last year, but I agree. Jost is a no go in this deal

OEL at that retention for Neal is interesting. Take Broberg out.

I think Arizona can get a 3rd from Long Island in that Ladd deal.

    Really interesting and tactful AGM

Just a few things need a bit of shifting at most

    - dunno if Colorado is quite that eager to unload EJ

    - dunno if the AZ package to EDM is that valuable

    - dunno if NYI is that bothered by LTIR money

But yeah at most just some shifts, good in general

Lets say Seattle takes Skjei. May or may not but lets start there

How about the OEL deal with same retention and Garland to the Canes?

    Foegele, Gardiner, plus what?

As an Oilers fan I don't know. This looks intriguing. The 1st is a lower 1st and we're getting towards "win now" mode. Plus there are still some prospects in the pipeline already. By the time a lower 2021 1st Rd. pick is seriously NHL ready, McJesus and the German guy will be almost UFA. I'd take this. But obviously it'd be way nicer if the 1st was only a 2nd.

[Edit] Forget about what I just said. I overlooked Broberg was in that deal. No, that's too much.

Fair i guess id rather make it a lottery protected 2022 first then since kuemper only has one year left and is getting older. I think OEL needs to be retained 50% and then id do it

Fair enough. Alhough I agree on retaining a lot of OELs contract I don't know that's something GMs would do in reality. They want to get rid of it entirely or at least have control over the player. Thus an OEL deal ist not very realistic imo.
