<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dannibalcorpse</b></div><div>cap floor. Weber's got 4x$7.857M left on his deal but only costs $3M in real money this season, then $1M per year the last 3 years. They've stockpiled enough 2s & 3s from other cap dumps that sacrificing one of them for that kind of cap value would presumably be worth it.</div></div>
I get that but trading the 34th overall pick to take someone else's problem off their hands when there's other ways to reach the cap floor seems kinda dumb doesn't it. I mean they're only about $11M from the cap floor and still need to ice an actual team, couldn't they collect more picks and/or prospects by taking short term cap dumps like they did last offseason??

In my mind, I believe that Jarmo is going to trade the 6th pick for an immediate, significant defensive upgrade. Chychrun makes huge sense, but as we've found with Jarmo, he will surprise you. With Korpisalo re-signed today, the GAA problem in JK/JD's minds is on the defense. Losing Jones and Savard was a massive blow to the defense and this offseason now becomes critical to reset, rebuild, retool, whatever you want to call it.

Just my take, though. If Arizona really wanted to move up, they seem to like Wright. In that case its to number one.</div></div>
Yea, this is the kind of draft where the teams boards are going to be wildly different after Wright. Makes it hard to justify moving up or down when some top 10 graded guys like Lambert are also being given Round 2 grades

Off-season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kartana</b></div><div>Arizona passes. The price that has been discussed with Canes fans is Necas, Suzuki and 1st.</div></div>
I would really hate to trade Necas, but if he doesn’t ramp up his scoring for the rest of the season, there are better options available. As long as Jarvis and Morrow stay out of trade talks, I don’t mind. But Necas, Suzuki, Bokk (as a throw in), and a first(2024), would be a package the Canes might offer, solely depending on how the rest of Necas’ season goes. Necas would get a bigger opportunity in Arizona, one that he might not have in Carolina. Between Turbo, Jarvis, and Necas, the Canes have 3 RW that are fighting for top 6 minutes, and while Turbo can play his off wing, the Canes would prefer him on his natural side. I would hate to lose Skjei, but Chychrun is an upgrade.

Continuing My Next Season Series With Arizona
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>tkecanuck341</b></div><div>Brock Faber is not available under any circumstances.
Anderson and/or Bjornfot will not be traded either. It defeats the purpose of making this trade. The Kings need more LHD, not just an upgrade. You obviously have no idea who Anderson is if you have him playing on your third pairing with a $800k extension. He's been playing top pairing minutes for 2+ seasons now and is likely going to get $4M+ this summer.
Replace Faber with Grans or Spence and drop Anderson from the trade return and the Kings would consider it.</div></div>
Nothing comes free in life and ARZ wants the equivalent of 3 1sts for Chychrun. That offer alone is underwhelming considering what else could be on the market by that time. These are greats youngsters but are getting way overhyped by this comment. LAK should add here or at least trade a better prospect than Vilardi/Faber. Classic « that guy is untouchable » fan crying.

I put it lower because of the usual "this kid is untouchable ", but even this they whine about.

Back to Back
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Kartana</b></div><div>Necas + Suzuki + 1st (and other assets) seems like a lot. I'm a Coyotes fan, but like it a lot. I'd push for Morrow/Drury instead of Suzuki, but would probably settle on Suzuki in your proposal. How do Canes fans value Necas?</div></div>
I will just leave that answer to not trading him in talks for Laine and Eichel. Ideally, Necas doesn’t get traded, but he has been having a down year this year, and while that could lead to a lower cap hit in extension talks, I would think Necas would want a bridge prove me deal, whereas the Canes would want a long term deal. Unfortunately for the Yotes, if the Canes were to trade for Chychrun, Morrow, Drury, and Jarvis would be off the table. I would say Necas would be as well, considering how much management adores him, but as it stands, the Canes have 3 RW fighting for top 6 minutes. Canes won’t deal Turbo, and Jarvis would be off the table as well, so Necas could be the odd man out.
As for swapping Suzuki out, I would swap him with Rees and remove the third to balance it out. I can’t see Suzuki or Bokk in the Canes long term plans, and while they were former first round picks, Suzuki I would value at a low first or high second, whereas Bokk would be lucky to draw a 4th, and that seems generous. Bokk would be more of a toss in than an actual piece, but who knows.

It comes down to age and control…Jarvis is multiple years behind Necas in age progress and team control via RFA but honestly they are basically close on the ice right now.
Neither is likely, but if Chychrun is the return…Necas makes more sense for both sides.

I think this is probably a fair ask but I can’t see canes moving Jarvis and to a lesser extent morrow. Jarvis is on a cheap contract and has fit into the lineup excellently. Morrow the canes are really high on morrow as well, but he could be moved. I would move pretty much any prospect other than Jarvis but that may not be enough from a coyotes perspective

I mean when you’re talking about Chychrun I can definitely see how you could view this as fair but Jarvis is becoming a staple of a winning lineup and he’s cheap right now. You can’t find these guys available for teams on the hunt for a cup.
So while Chychrun would be nice, and maybe some people see this trade as fair, it just won’t happen IMO

Considering how highly valued Jarvis and Morrow are to the Canes, I don’t really see this happening. Canes would be willing to move other prospects instead of Jarvis and Morrow, like maybe Heimosalmi and Koivunen/Gunler, and add in Ponomarev and Suzuki and the Canes would be closer to agreeing. But as far as the Canes are concerned, Jarvis and Morrow are untouchable.

If Ekblad is done for the year
Since Florida is going to be desperate, I think Chychrun would start with Lundell at this point. Mind you, if I am Arizona, I start with Lundell regardless, and keep adding from there. Chychrun was already going to be an expensive acquisition if Arizona chose to move him, you would think, at least for the Panthers, he is going to be more expensive. I mean, just look at the Keumper situation with Colorado. If Florida isnt able to get a suitable replacement outside of Chychrun, Chychrun's value would be a lot higher, at the very least to Florida.

DAL - With khudobin out for the season and dallas making a playoff push i doubt holtby is available. However this is good value.
VGK - Vegas declines. Georgiev has been a very inconsistent goalie. The only reason theyd want him is if they were going to use him as a rental this year if lehner is out. If thats the case it doesnt make any sense for them to move smith, who is also worth more than georgiev not to mention a solid prospect in dorofeyev.
ARI - ARI declines. Theyve said that an offer would have to blow them away for them to move chychrun. This is a very underwhelming offer tbh.
A pick thats probably around 25, a recent late 2nd round pick that i dont know anything about, a disappointing prospect who wont play for NYR, and a decent prospect in jones. There are some decent pieces here but not for a 1st pair dman on a great contract.

As long as they get 3 good pieces back including the 1st rounder , it’ll be good. 2 guys that can slot in the top 6 / top 4 within 1-2 years and a 1st round pick

Bobrovsky is so on and off , idk if they deal Knight and def not Lundell. But Spence is playing very well in the AHL right now so I like him. But if they can somehow squeeze Bjornfot or Faber instead , so be it but I doubt it
