Coyotes trade deadline Wishlist not all will happen
Really like these moves for us! Good values. Most of them are fair and realistic. We really need to acquire those 2023 picks. Good job!

One move
Portzline wrote an article in the Athletic today quoting Kekalainen saying they probably aren't moving up, since the price is too high (6th + 12th OA). Doesn't mean it isn't happening, though.
From Arizona's point of view it doesn't make sense, with the need for elite talent (especially at C) and already having 7 picks in the top 45. The value here is more or less fair, but not a trade Arizona makes.

Thread:
3th Ovrl pick Cooley
It's an easy no from Arizona. With 3rd OA we are getting one of the top forwards, most likely Cooley. Arizona are starving for elite talent, especially up front and at center. He might just be the best player in the draft. Also, we have 7 picks in the top 45, so there is no need for more picks.
I know what the pick value charts are saying, but those are general. This year has a clear top 3, hence it's going to cost to move up. 6+12 for 3. Arizona aren't adding anything. Still, it's an easy no from me, as explained above.
There are however rumors of Arizona wanting to move up. Friedmann mentioned it. The counteroffer I present is CAR 1st (#27, 3.2 GSVA) + COL 1st (#32, 2.7 GSVA) for CBJ 1st (#12, 5.5 GSVA). Even then Arizona is offering more value, so Columbus would have to add 0.4 GSVA, which is your 4th round pick (#109, 0.4 GSVA). 12 + 109 for 27 + 32.
All in all, I see where you're coming from. Both Portzline and Scheig wrote about this. If Columbus want to move up and get Cooley, it's to 2nd OA. Arizona aren't interested. Cooley is going to look good in a Coyotes sweater.

I agree. LAK was probably the frontrunners, but without 19th OA and Faber their offers aren't as exciting, even if they have the assets, I guess. Necas + 1st + picks/prospects from a deep pool is very enticing. Chychrun also feels like a player that makes a lot of sense for Carolina and Arizona get to move him out East. As you said, there is something here for both teams.

I'd prefer Necas, Morrow and 1st for Chychrun. Would take Gardiner back. Without Morrow I'd guess Heimosalmi + 2nd could work, but it's not ideal. How about that?

Chychrun has also had his share of injuries, but is healthy now and always comes back. I don't see Arizona acquiring Turcotte and Walker while injured and with their recent injuries. Too risky for us.

Same. For some reason people think he's overrated, which I don't understand. It's good to find someone who appreciates him as well. I do too and hope he stays.

That's true. Our beat writer wrote this 5 days ago, though. He's not perfect, but usually right. It was similar with Vejmelka around the TDL. He was supposedly available, but an extension got done. I expect the same outcome now.

Jarmo puts his foot on the gas
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>pocke</b></div><div>6+12 is worth more than the 3 alone based on the work done for Average Draft Pick Position GSVA. In terms of that sheet, 6+12 = 3 + 29. I can see Arizona wanting the more premium asset for Cooley, but Gauthier/Savoie/Jiricek + the 12 could help an org still a bit starved for assets. Just as well, the top tier starts to fall off at 12 so you're getting 2 picks within that. AZ having a lot of picks certainly makes the deal harder, but I think there's an angle that still works considering the upgrade.
If you'd like 12 + Ceulemans+ I think that's a deal that CBJ can make very easily. We don't have much as far as roster players for trade. Jenner isn't really tradeable and has an NTC. Nyquist and Voracek could be dealt for sure. Otherwise you're looking at Bean/Peeke or a roster playing prospect like Texier or Bemstrom. If CBJ get Chychrun and get to keep Boqvist I think they'd be happy to part with a further off prospect. Bjorkstrand and Roslovic have just signed deals and likely are too good to also be parting with the 12.</div></div>
Appreciate the answer! Good reasoning. I agree that the price is what you said for the pick swap, but every year is different and every team have own charts for respective year. Aaron Portzline had a good article in the Athletic about this a few days ago from Columbus' view. Since there is a clear top 3, I'd argue this year doesn't need an additional pick added. I do also find the appeal with those two picks.
I find it interesting you would give up Cuelemans that easily. Other CBJ fans I've talked to are more hesitant and would rather give up Boqvist. 12th + Cuelemans + is one of, if not the most, preferred deals for Chychrun for me personally. If that last piece is Texier it's a slam dunk for me, but I think Texier holds too much value for that to be fair for Columbus. Perhaps Bean is more fair. The deal could always be balanced with picks. All in all, it's potentially 2 top 4 D in Cuelemans and Korchinski/Mintyukov. It makes a lot of sense for Arizona in my mind.

Ideal Offseason - KINGS
This is the first time seeing a package like this for Chychrun. Like you said, most include Turcotte, but with him injured and having been injured a lot it's a risk for Arizona and his value isn't that high now. Vilardi makes more sense and has been rumored to be a guy Arizona likes. Durzi is a young, NHL-ready player, so he fits the criteria. Still, I wouldn't do it. The value isn't really there. It is rumored to be equivalent to 3-4 firsts. This isn't that. However, it's a good offer and better than most on here, so good work OP.

I don't think Arizona is trading Chychrun for a package that doesn't include a 1st, unless there is a truly elite piece coming back. I also think we are looking for even younger pieces than these guys (in general), but one asset is probably going to be in this age group. Not all of them, though.

3 for 6 + 12 is fair (not more), but considering Arizona has 7 picks in the top 45, it most likely isn't something we're doing. The Chychrun trade is really bad for Arizona, both the value and the fit of the assets.
I do believe there is a deal to be done between the two teams. I'd prefer 6th OA for Chychrun, but don't think Columbus does that. A deal around 12th + Cuelemans + roster player is something to discuss, as a base.

Regarding the price for Chychrun, I listened to the Kings of the Podcast episode 128. They discussed this around the 30 minute mark. It was interesting, especially coming from a Kings' point of view. I agreed with all of it.
My view is that I'd accept Vilardi, Faber (if he signs) and 1st. Maybe a later conditional pick or we add something more, but as a base. I know how Kings fans feel about Faber, but you have to give to get.

Coyotes Challenge 20
I really enjoyed reading your first version and this one. It's well thought of and interesting. Well done!
My feedback would be that I liked the first one better, especially the Chychrun trade. I think we would ask for Vilardi instead of Turcotte because of the injuries. I also don't think LA want to trade Bjornfot as he is a LHD, so they offer one of their RDs. Most likely Durzi, and Coyotes counter with Faber (if he wants to sign). Kings fans don't want to part with him, but we'll see what happens. Apparently the new asking price is 4 pieces as well, so the value is a bit short. Otherwise great work.
