Zona Deal
I can't see us trading 3rd OA. Wright, Slafkovsky and Cooley are in a tier of their own and Arizona need elite talent up front. Chychrun in a package for either 6th or 12th OA with adds from Columbus would work.

I agree with the guy who said "not bad". This looks good and realistic. The only thing for me is that it seems risky for Arizona to trade for Walker after his injury and I think Mrazek should cost more to dump, but Arizona should look at him. Maybe something like 2nd + 2nd/3rd/4th. Good work OP!

From a Coyotes perspective, I'd do the Montreal and Calgary trades. Don't think Calgary does that, though. Fischer seems to be in it for the long run with Arizona. The rest of the trades need more value going to Arizona.

This looks realistic to me. In line with what the user above said, I'd be willing to add a higher pick, but not a 2nd. Maybe our 3rd rounder.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>Really? Moving to the premium 1st overall only requires a late pick. Jesus. You call me way off. You're off your rocker!
You clearly arent up to date. The Yotes already offered a pick to take Weber's deal at the TDL but the paperwork for LTIR contract was late. The Habs arent paying to give away Weber's deal. It wasnt a discussion, it was done! I wont even get started on your Ghostbear 2 2nd rounders nonsense.
Why do ppl reply that are clueless?</div></div>
I'm usually never wrong in my trade predictions when it comes to the Coyotes. Not the first time people think like this. We'll see what happens, but I guess everyone can be wrong. After all we are not the ones making the calls.
The 1st is and should be a premium. It isn't this year to the same extent. It's close between the top 3 forwards, even if Wright still is the consensus nr. 1. Just look at Bob's rankings. It's also just 2 spots Arizona would be moving up. The price is another 1st. This has also been posted by others on this site, so just not me.
As you said the Weber deal was done. I haven't seen any report that we offered a pick. Feel free to share that. We did acquire Little instead, in which we got an asset and gave up a lesser one. I know the money helps Arizona, but that is only for the first years. It's still for 4 years and no team wants that for so long.
Gostisbehere should cost 2x 3rds to 2x 2nds. Maybe a 2nd and 3rd. He was excellent this season.
If you found my answer harsch, I apologize. That wasn't my intention. On the other hand, I don't know why it is so fun to bash people. We are fans that want to have fun and discuss what we love. No reason to come at someone like this.

I would guess Gostisbehere goes at the TDL, if not signed even. Way too little for Chychrun and Crouse. I'd be surprised to get a 3rd for Fischer. It also seems that the team really loves him and wants to keep him. Same with Crouse. Dadonov is a good target. I'd aim for higher than a 3rd, but like the idea.

I get that. The top 4 you mentioned is a tier of their own. I don't like Jiricek personally either. His skating is not good. If we take Cooley I like the thought of also getting Gauthier, but only him as a selection I don't think I'd be too thrilled about either. I do like a line of Gauthier - Cooley - Guenther.

If MTL wants Cooley
I don't see the need for taking Weber's contract. Moving up to select Wright is probably high on their list. Bill Armstrong mentioned Wright by name at the post lottery presser and tanked really hard this season. The price is okay. I'd give the COL 1st. Then again, personally I wouldn't move up at all since the gap between the top 3 forwards aren't that big.

The value is way off on all these trades. Leafs aren't giving that to Arizona for Crouse. The price for Arizona to move up is in fact only the 1st (and not CAR's, but COL's). Adding Chychrun to that package isn't in the least close. The price for Gostisbehere is 2x 2nds. Either add that and another pick to Weber's contract, or just give the 2nd rounders. Drouin can be a piece for us to take Weber's contract, and we add a late pick for both.
I think Arizona want to move up. From Bill Armstrong's press conference it was obvious. The price is COL's 1st. Personally I'd just take Cooley or Slavkovsky. The gap isn't that big to be giving up more high picks.

Getting a 1st for helping Cap Crunched Teams
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>willinlisbon</b></div><div>let's get something straight.
"WE" / Habs, dont have to move Webers contract AT ALL.
Its off the books once the season starts in LTIR.
And the Habs can well afford to pay the penalty for being over the cap on day 1 until he goes on LTIR.
Habs are doing ARI a favour....nto the other way around.
That's why there's a second involved.</div></div>
It is appealing for Arizona. That's why a deal was agreed, but nixed at the TDL. So we got Bryan Little instead. In which we got an asset, while also giving up a lesser asset. Even if Weber's contract is appealing to Arizona, that only applies for the first years. It's still a multi-year problem. We aren't giving up a high pick for that. Maybe a low pick, if anything. Also, it isn't a need anymore after we got Little. We still need to fill out the roster. That we can do with FA signings and/or trades (for example more cap dumps). We didn't tank this hard to give up our high picks. I see where you are coming from, but the price (if positive) will be lower.

I know this deal would go through</div></div>
It was, but nixed as you said. So we got Bryan Little instead. Now it's not a need. We aren't that far off the cap floor and still need to fill out our roster. Also, a deal would look more like that deal. Montreal gets an asset, but so do we.

Arizona aren't giving you picks for Weber's contract. And definitely not our own 2nd. If you want to trade his contract, you'll have to give us a 2nd or other picks.

Arizona aren't trading one of their 1sts, let alone for that package. We aren't giving a 3rd for Weber's contract, either. You can attach a 2nd to it and then maybe we'll take it.

The first trade favours New Jersey by a lot and the second trade favours Arizona by quite a bit. I do agree it would be nice for Arizona to get 2nd OA in a deal with New Jersey around Chychrun and select Slafkovsky + Cooley/Nemec.

Nylander and Chychrun
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OldNYIfan</b></div><div>Thank you for the kind words.
I think that Arizona is a little more likely to take actual skaters who will play next season rather than futures because they have so few NHL-qualified guys on the roster for 2022-2023 right now. For that reason, I'm pretty sure that neither Turcotte nor Walker is what they're looking for, as you say, but Vilardi and Spence might be sufficient (along with Iafallo). But my real belief is that the Coyotes shouldn't trade Chychrun at all because then they'll be lucky to win 20 games next year without him.
I should have paid a little more attention to the Arizona deal but I was pre-occupied with the Nylander-Petersen idea which, as you can see, wasn't well received by the Maple Leafs folks.</div></div>
Good answer! Appreciate the reasoning. Vilardi and Spence are nice. There's a fit, let's see if and in that case how the GMs solve it. Will be interesting!
I agree that we shouldn't trade him. I thought there was a chance he was staying despite all the rumors, but I listened to the DFO rundown podcast that came out recently with Armstrong as a guest. At the end Seravalli said Chychrun has told management he isn't returning and that the Coyotes are going to try to fix that for him. First time I heard from a good sources he wants out so a trade seems inevitable. It's sad, but I guess we can't have nice things here in Arizona. I hope he goes to a good organization and Los Angeles is that.

Nylander and Chychrun
It's been laid out pretty clearly what Arizona wants in a Chychrun deal from various sources. This is not it. Neither the pieces or the value.
Also, no reason for Arizona to acquire a player that is hurt as much as Turcotte and a player that hasn't played for almost the whole season (Walker). Injury history applies to Chychrun as well, but he has shown to come back fine from it. Until Walker has played it's not smart for Arizona to consider acquiring him.
I understand Clarke is off the table. Faber seems to be as well, but you can't get quality without giving up something of value in return. I'd consider a combination of Faber, Vilardi and your next two 1sts. Otherwise, there are plenty of suitors that I appreciate more. For example, any of Columbus' 1sts or Ottawa 1st.
Anyways, I always like your AGMs. They are well thought out and presented in a good way.

I mean they're only about $11M from the cap floor and still need to ice an actual team, couldn't they collect more picks and/or prospects by taking short term cap dumps like they did last offseason??</div></div>
We can. As a Coyotes fan, this is not something we would do. As you said, there are cap dumps available and our GM has said that's the plan for this summer. Still, we were looking at Weber at the TDL and a deal was agreed upon, but didn't happen. If it does in the summer, no need to give up that high of a pick to help somebody else, even if it could help us as well.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>sh51_aa</b></div><div>Now, if you look at our depthchart up front we're in a situation where we have to much forwards and need to cut some - after all NJD and ARI are not in the same state of their respective rebuilds anymore. And to your 2nd point: Apparently ARI is looking for cheap forwards and Johnsson is just that. And yes, you might be able to get players without trading picks away but that doesn't necessarly mean that it's "unrealistic" or that it "doesn't make sense" to do so.</div></div>
I wouldn't call that price cheap. By cheap, I'd assume signings like Milos Keleman (that we signed) or Linus Johansson (who there are rumors about), who are FA. Also, Johnsson isn't young. He is 27. By young, it is players like McBain and Nathan Smith that are around U23.
I agree it isn't unrealistic, but it's safe to say it doesn't make sense.
