2020 Two Round Mock Draft With Explanations
Jake Sanderson is a solid talent for sure but does Buffalo really want to pass up a high end skilled offensive player like Perfetti?? That would be a great fit beside Eichel.
Don’t get me wrong I live JS’s game. He’s going to be a top 4 shutdown D for many many years.

2020 Two Round Mock Draft With Explanations
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leemer</b></div><div>Excellent job
At pick 48 habs don’t really need another LHD in their prospect pool - you may feel he is BAP but there’s not much difference between that and their need for RHD so I think they pick Villaneuve. At pick 57 it’s a real toss up between Cuylle and Neighbours</div></div>
Thanks so much! That 48th overall pick was an interesting one, and I did believe Kuznetsov was the best available, but the habs do need help on the right side, so you're probably right, in thinking they'll pick a RHD.

Montreal Canadiens Draft List
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leemer</b></div><div>I agree with this list except I would put Gunler ahead of Amirov</div></div>
I'd rather Amirov or Gunler than Perreault. He seems like a one-dimensional player and I have a feeling he'll go higher than expected and bust.

habs picks
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leemer</b></div><div>If Quinn, Holloway, Mercer are picked in the top 15, then I’m in the Jarvis, Perreault, Gunler selection pool and avoid the extraction pain associated with the KHL and Mother Russia for Amirov. If Foerster falls into the pick 35 -40 range Bergevin should be all over that by trading up some picks or spare parts. Mav Bourque is ok but is not in the same goal scorer category of the players I have mentioned and is NOT the BAP</div></div>
KHL players drafted in the first round they can come over at any time if I recall correctly (I'm probably wrong). However, I do not see why Montreal drafts a first-round Center unless Marco Rossi drops to us because of his size again, based off what we have we have our 2 top centers and Bergevin believes that so I see us going LW more so then RW because we lack Quantity on the right and Quality on the left

The spiciest of Takes
Amirov isn’t a C, which is a good thing. I’d be torn between him, Holloway (who can play LW), and Perreault. IMO Zary & Lapierre are overrated by most, and they’re centres, which makes them even less useful.

My dream for MTL
I’d love to get Grans in the 2nd round, but I doubt he’d be available where we pick. Although I wouldn’t be opposed to trading up to get him.
Getting Perreault with our 2nd pick in the draft would be amazing, but probably unrealistic.

I think he’d be a solid pick early to mid second round.

Don't see Yzerman taking either Sanderson or Askarov at #4, He'd trade down a few spots for the extra pick to take either one.

Ya but Quinn isn’t small that’s why Caufield fell. I’d be ecstatic if in 2 years we had Gallagher Caufield Quinn Ylonen on the right with Suzuki KK Danault still intact

I feel like both teams/fan bases would hate this.
EDM is paying a ton here but Danault is insanely underrated by everyone outside of Quebec. I still this it's EDM saying no, maybe if it was a 2021 pick it would make it closer.

Exactly Domi's value is way higher than a 1st round pick tho. Kapanen is a 40 pts producer at best and he was traded for a 1st. Domi is a 55-65 pts producer...

I’m against trading for AA becuase his best year is behind him IMO. Twenty goal scorer when he’s not injured. Would rather use Domi to get Ehlers</div></div>
I like ehlers more than Laine as he will be cheaper but for that reason so does winnipeg.. they would prefer to trade Laine but they want 4-5 pieces for him and then he will want 9-10 million a season in one year.... and he is very inconsistent in his efforts.. huge gamble.. so I thought Puljajarvi would be less expensive and have upside..

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leemer</b></div><div>Thanks for both notes - I’m not convinced Montreal should be “going for it” yet because there’s too many question marks on their young core of Suzuki, KK, Romanov, and a possible rebound year of Drouin that no matter what Grade A players we get in a trade or even a free agent like Hall, that none of those will push us into a top 4 contender. Perhaps I’m too anxious for another top draft choice in this deep draft</div></div>
maybe they shouldn't but with Price and Weber age's and how they performed this year playoffs.. montreal has to go for it while these guys can still perform... all we need now is a goal scorer and some experience for romanov to develop.... the core will get somewhat broken up next year so if they could get a 35 plus goal scorer I would go for it....

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leemer</b></div><div>Good comments - I believe Perreault will fall into picks 25-31 due to his skating and would love Bergevin to package something and move up after picking someone else at 16. I would add Alex Cotton and Pavel Gogolev to your list as late bloomers. Aliso like Daniel Torgesson and William Dufour</div></div>
Perrault is a fantastic skater.he won fastest skater with and without puck and chl testing. I like the guys you mentioned but this was more my favourite players in round 1 or 2 that people are ranking way too low. Gogolev for example is one of my targets at the draft but not in the first two rounds
