Marner Trade that Actually Works
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>but like how it this reasonable? Marner is a 95-100 point guy lol</div></div>
25g guy playing with the most prolific goal scorer in the last 30 years…. Let’s see how many points he gets on a team without Matthews. Same as how Zach Hyman is not a 50g scorer.

I had a very difficult time finding anything (realistic) from Boston’s roster or prospect pool I wanted anything to do with. This was just the parameters of a trade.

Just screwing around. Seems like everyone has to post a Marner trade today.
I know the Sharks should never give up that pick.

Sorry, he'll get $12.5 so I underpaid him.
Laugh now, cry later when it becomes reality.
Remember Nylander was "anything over $10 million was too much", last summer, by fall he signs for $11.5 million.

In my estimation he won’t become available until he hits RFA

Ryan Warsofsky - Celebrini - Stamkos
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Letsgosharks</b></div><div>So he would get more in California? Or am I misreading that</div></div>
Simplified
20 m x 2 years in SJS
without any professional tax help (that many smart athletes would definitely utilize)
Would probably nearly be 11m
Which would be just equal to 5m x 3 years in Florida.
Or less than 7m x 3 years
So San Jose needs to start in the 9.5 - 10.5 area to compete with anything the state of Florida offers. If Florida

I still said this is 25/26 and not quite a playoff team unless everything goes right! Think 26/27 is the year I would “expect” them to be fighting for the playoffs.

I expect 1 of Gushchin or Bordeleau to make this club long term and 1 to either end up being a bust or being dealt in a deal to bring in a need.
I personally wouldn’t mind both Celebrini or smith to stay in College or come over, as long as it is their decision.

I think for a team with a lot of cap and still wanting to compete he can be a top target for them. He still has 2-3 years of being a top 4 guy (not top pairing but top 4) the issue is he is 4.25 million dollars overpaid. Slowly turning into John Klingberg in front of our eyes

3 Trades 3 New UFAs and Youth
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dca919</b></div><div>Seider will be the top pair RHD. If you are arguing this full stop.
Petry has a 15 team NTC and a NMC (so can't bury him). He has a retained cap trade with a $2,343,750 remaining cap. There is no reason to buyout that remaining amount.
Holl has a 10 team NTC. But more importantly a 3.4M cap hit (so no team is going to take him without retention and a sweetener) was brought in before the Ghost signing and Petry trade to be what he will next year: a 3rd pair d-man. He might not be the best NHL d-man, but he will be a 3rd pair rather than wasting a buyout or a sweetened trade to save a couple million when Maatta and Fabbri are the most likely to get traded for cap relief (as they already have cheaper internal replacements at those positions).</div></div>
Imagine hearing an objection to your insisted upon Seider/Petry/Holl RD lineup and leading off thinking Seider was the issue...
