Sharks get the worse goalie, the worse forward, for a third? I get they are RFA, but this just kinda meh

I like Pinto a lot and Brännström is massively underrated, but Mercer has shown so far that he's on a completely different level from these two.
This doesn't strike me as particularly close and the Devils should have no qualms about declining this outright.

How is that package worth Mercer, let alone more assets?

Pinto is the better all around natural centre.

I get he is a center, but Mercer drives more offense, nearly scoring 30 last year. He had a down year much connected to being forced to center this year with Hughes out.

I'm happy to keep Mercer, you guys keep Pinto.

Yeah I don’t understand this swap for either team. Pinto has the best 200ft game on the Sens. And he likely starts next year on the top line with Tkachuk

Pinto talked enthusiastically about how much he loves being here, how he loves the group, and how he's hoping they get the deal done soon. Said he's going to Worlds even without a deal done, but he was hoping they'd have a deal done before it starts. He'll have a new contract before the Draft imo.
