Apparently Sullivan hates him and there was some rumoured-behind-closed-doors-controversey that no one really knows the full story to cause media and kessel gave conflicting remarks on the matter. Also Bear is mid, I'd rather have dumba or holden for the right side or keep ruhwedel or friedman there.</div></div>
Well Dumba went to Arizona so he’s out. I don’t like any of the other guys you mentioned and Bear is at least serviceable. As for the Kessel stuff, wounds get mended all the time. I can see a world where he and Sullivan make up.

Last pieces to the puzzle
The only way the pens make another signing is by moving out a player. That player will not be one they just signed a month ago.

Sorry, but a team with an older four best players just broke the regular season points record last year?
Sidney Crosby is Sidney Crosby. He is still king. Erik karlsson just had his best season ever and won the Norris. Malkin is not 2009 malkin obviously but he is still a top 6 center on any team in the league. Letang is still elite and is extreme athlete who isn’t slowing down any time soon. He signed a 6 year deal.
Don’t be a mutt.

Are the penguins cup contenders
This is a team that reminds me of what happened with Boston. Everyone thought they’d be out of the playoffs, and then they shattered everyone’s expectations. Not saying Pittsburgh will win 65 games next year, or even 50, but I could see them possibly getting into the playoffs, and the structure of this team is built well for the playoffs, especially if they build off it.

Dubas is him
The plan is to put Carter on LTIR and then sign Kane to a one-year deal. Put him on LTIR. Then sign Dumba on a one year deal for 3RD. Defense optional team.

What if the odd man out is another Hextall mistake
Rust is not a mistake. He might be slightly overpaid, but he is a solid top 6 winger with pk and pp ability. He makes the team better. Fabbri is cheap glass.

Nah, they won't trade him. He's still a solid player, could have a rebound year.

That's why I am signing him at $1M. This is the most we would be able to afford when Jake is back with one scratch.

And I thought Hextalls trades were bad
Idk how you think it's a terrible trade lol.
If the pens had to give up things like multiple picks, poulin/poj/pickering etc and still have his cap at $10M... then it'd be bad.
But to move on from all hextall era additions with awful performance and contracts to land a guy that 100% makes the team better for the last push... it's a win.
But if you're cheering for three different teams then that's a casual fan lol.

And I thought Hextalls trades were bad
I love the trade. Even if he gets hurt we have cap space while he's LTIR. I'd rather have cap space than all those bad contracts attached to players we don't want to use... But if we still had those players we'd have to play them in order to trade them at some point. Which would only hurt the team moving forward. We're infinitely better off today than we were yesterday...

Dont need Karlsson heres what we do need
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>MajesticWalrus</b></div><div>I see what you're saying but well larsson is also a lefty and joseph actually is pretty physical, he can be over a hit per game</div></div>
Larsson spends most of his time in the AHL, where he earns 350K. And he doesn't require the Sens giving up a 4th rd to acquire.
Want to trade POJ for Larsson straight up? Assuming the Sens don't get rid of Joseph, they might do that. But I don't see them trading draft capital to acquire an AHL player, which is what POJ would be on the Sens.
You're more likely to get more interest from another team that doesn't have a logjam at LD.

EK65 trade already
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>Ok. Some of these Karlsson trade proposals are getting ridiculous.
So the Sharks are 1) retaining HALF, 2) taking on Petry, AND 3) taking on Granlund?</div></div>
I’m sure we will all be surprised by what the sharks get for Karlsson. The sharks don’t have much leverage. Karlsson wants traded, has a full NMC and can select which team he wants to go to, only 2 teams are going for him, any good team he’d be willing to go to has no cap space so they are going to have to retain and take at least 1 big contract back. In a perfect world teams would be able to just offer futures but that’s not gonna happen.

Just saying what I've seen. Could be biased from following Pittsburgh media more than Carolina, though. As a guy who lost to Sid, Geno, and Letang in the ECF, he may think he puts that group over the top again. Even with the cumulative aging.

Only reason I can see wanting PIT over CAR is Burns is in CAR. He might not want to have to fight for ice time again.

Trading our goalie prospect might be our best shot with jarry locked up. San Jose has had weak tending for a while and he’s a really good prospect (and Pittsburgh has a great track record of drafting goalies recently)
