Keep FiFi
Spurge/Brodin/Goose all have NMC and won't be moved. Merrill was just extended and BG shouldn't move him unless he wants to look like an ass. Just traded for Midds which should be a low cost extension 1.5-2 million for 2/3 years IMO. That leaves Addison who shouldn't be traded unless he's fallen out of favor with BG/DE. Kulikov is probably most likely to be traded outside of Dumba.
I wonder if BG was testing the waters with Dumba's agent for an extension this summer and Dumba is expecting a raise. On one of his shows, Russo recently said he thinks BG will expect him to take a pay cut, maybe even under 5 million per year. Might have gotten BG to circle back to Goose to resign him knowing Dumba is going to want too much?
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>csick</b></div><div>Also doesn’t that kill the space in the next 2 years and you can’t improve the team?</div></div>
I believe Russo thought Fiala was asking for 7-8 million for a long-term extension last offseason.
If BG can sign Fiala in the 7ish range he can be fit in the cap with Boldy getting 4ish million in a bridge and Addison getting 2ish million in a bridge with room for depth players, assuming the cap isn't flat with a million increase/year or so.

It's the 2nd questionable extension on the D imo. I didn't like the Merrill extension and now that makes even less sense with this extension.

I'd go with Talbot, who I'd say is paid pretty close to a fair market price. But who knows, I could eat my words if Fleury stands on his head and backstops the Wild to a SC.

Then I'd pass. That money could be used to keep younger members of the team who could be part of the core in future years.

I personally think that MAF gets a 1-2 year deal in the 3-3.5 million range. I'd think that he picked waiving to be traded to MN to go to a competitive team and understood he wouldn't be trying to bend BG over a barrel for more money. I could totally be wrong but I assume he wants to play 1 or 2 more years and not move his family again.

Respectfully... you're going to be very disappointed in the return Fiala gets this summer if he's traded. He'll probably return a 1st rounder after the top ten and a prospect with a middle six or 2nd pair D projection?

Pretty sure they can trade Fiala or Dumba and keep the rest of Zucc, Freddy and Greenway. Not sure, but we'll see if Middleton is more than 2million/yr

Russo said off the cuff during a call last week he thought Dumba might consider something in the 4.5million range. Not saying it would happen but if Dumba wants to stay he'd be wise to let BG know he'd take a pay cut after the season is over before BG trades him or Fiala.

Roster with Jost
Don't mind the move at all. Sturm probably wasn't going to be resigned next year and he wasn't playing much right now anyway. Jost adds nice flexibility with a bit more scoring touch/better hands than Sturm. Big fan of Sturm but sure wish he had shown more growth after last year vs regression.
BG go out and get a grit defenseman now for like a 3rd.

While I agree that BG should be seeking a 2nd or similar value prospect, letting him walk for nothing is terrible asset management. Getting a 4th and an NCAA wing at SCSU is better than letting him walk for nothing if that was really the best offer he got.

Stupid idea probably
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Think it would have to be 1st and Jarventie over Pinto and a 2nd since the Sens org is apparently very high on Pinto. Which is fine if a center is what you're after, there's a ton of good center prospects in the top 12 this year and given Brackett's extensive draft history I'd be very confident with his selection.
Overall pretty realistic, though I'm not sure if Fleury will play after this season. And if we somehow did manage to trade for Pinto, he would definitely be playing in the middle 6. Hartman probably moves back to wing to make room</div></div>
Very good points on the ott trade.
Whether its true or not, supposedly Fleury wants another season and I'd like to think he can be better than he has been with Chicago. If the Wild did trade Talbot somewhere, I'm not sure I'd trust Kaapo yet to have a fulltime role. Sure hope I'm wrong and he's a very capable starter who could be the bridge before Wallstedt. It would be a lot easier if Kaapo could be the starter and just fill in with a 1 year 1 million dollar goalie to back him up.
