Agreed other than Duhaime. He's being fine but hasn't done anything that would make me not want to try Dewar. I think Dewar was better on the PK and brought a bit of energy when he did get games this season.

Agreed, I think DE/BG have made their decision that MAF is the guy and they're not backing down now.
I would say that DE's lack of mid game/series adjustments have been one of the largest blunders thus far.

"I think the general consensus is that he will be walking after." I'd disagree. He has a NMC kicking in in 2024/25 and won't be moved until then if they don't think he'll accept an extension when they can offer him one in 2025.

Fiala is not a player you trade for scraps get it done
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>palhal</b></div><div>The trouble with the scenario is in three more years, the Wild will be having (hopefully) more RFAs to sign and maybe not as much cap for a UFA Fiala. No, I gotta think Fiala wants his big contract now. There aren't too many teams that can afford a Fiala contract without sending cap back t the Wild. Fiala for good futures, might be the best deal Minni can do. Yea, it's not "on ice" value and may never be, but it's that's the situations for teams in a cap and cap strapped league.
IMO, the best trade value the Wild will get will be with a trade with Ottawa. Choices of futures from Ottawa who wouldn't mind trading a few for an expensive impact player.</div></div>
Ideally I'd like them to sign him long term, but doubt his cap him could be fit in. Going shorter term might be low enough and I'd rather have him for 3 more years now if they can fit in his cap hit and try to resign him or move other players to resign him when he's coming up to UFA. If he does get traded he should bring a great return.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>Agree but I don't think it's impossible to fit him in. I think it comes down to choosing between Fiala or Dumba and Fleury (and probably Greenway in the future). That's an incredibly easy choice, especially when we have Addison, Wallstedt, and a plethora of winger prospects in the pipeline.
I think Guerin can point to Nylander's contract as a comp. But with the way he's playing Fiala should definitely ask for $8M AAV.</div></div>
I sure hope BG can use a contract like Landeskog and try to sign him for close to that 7 million amount to stay with a competitive team. Otherwise there are other recent comparable like Andrei Svechnikov or Kyle Conner that I think are pretty good comps. I think he might want to bet on himself again and take a shorter 3 year deal to prove he is a top winger in the league where he gets another bite at a mega contract at 28 years old when the Wild have a lot more cap space if he really did want to stay in MN.

I'm expecting this summer Fiala will be traded then Dumba will get an extension before the season starts around 5-5.5 million and BG will say how great he is for the locker room and he had to retain him.

I'd take a late 1st and a 3rd and a B prospect in a heartbeat for Dumba. He hasn't been the same since his initial pectoral injury. I don't think you can get this kind of return on him, unless he comes with a cheap extension like in the 4-4.5 million x 4 years range.

Massive overpay for Dumba. If they trade him I'd be surprised if they can get more than a late 1st or an early 2nd.

Best F prospects that you didn't mention above are probably: Niederbach, Soderblom and Mazur? Maybe the 2022 1st (9oa) and one of them is a good start. Will all depend how many teams are making offers for him to drive up the price or not.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>TanSor</b></div><div>I've wondered the same - sure feels like the organization doesn't like how Addison has developed. I could definitely see him being moved this offseason.</div></div>
I really think he'll be moved if Dumba is on this team. He could probably get a late 1st with a middle of the road prospect from a needy team.
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Wildfan24</b></div><div>I'll admit I'm not a adison fan yet. I think it's the perfect move keeping him in thin ahl but next year he will have to step up if dumba is traded</div></div>
I guess I would think giving him a look right now while Dumba is out makes sense to me since in theory thats who he'd replace if Dumba is moved next season. Addison seems to be doing great in Iowa so we can hope he'll be great of the Wild whenever he does get on the team fulltime.

The timing of the Merrill extension sure made me think that Goose was as good as gone. Then Goose gets that 2 year extension and I don't know what BG is going to do next.
I am surprised that Addison isn't getting a look right now with Dumba out. Benn sure leaves a lot to be desired. Maybe BG/DE don't trust Addison and he might be moved since he hasn't played well enough to force them to keep him with the big club?

Yep agreed. Fiala is playing a lot better than Brown this season and think the above trade would require an add on the Ott side.

Just a note, the last 3 years of Spurge's contract have a 10 team no trade list, so if his game goes to hell he could be moved potentially.
