Ik typically everyone hates Boston and nobody wants to "help them out" but its just dumb thinking BOS has to give up pretty valuable assets to dump Taylor Hall</div></div>
Ok so Hall just got traded for nothing lol. It was dumb to think anyone would give up valuable assets to obtain Hall considering the year he just had and Boston’s cap situation.

Could we make it work
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>dugg133</b></div><div>Bertuzzi, Orlov, and Hathaway all end up getting more then that on the open market imo. Freddy also gets more then that, he's arb eligible and just had a 17 goal season.</div></div>
I don't think all of them will - I think that pretty in line with Bertuzzi/Orlov and Hathaway will be hurt by the cap crunch/excess of vet bottom 6 forwards on the market. There are a ton of them who are UFAs this offseason.
Freddy's QO is $1.15M - he gets a raise for having a good season. I think he will likely sign a one or two year bridge deal around $1.5-$2.25M and try to cash in when the cap goes up.

hall trade v2
Bruins decline. No need to sell Hall for pennies on the dollar.
People seem to think every player on the Bruins should be sold as a cap dump because they're close to the ceiling right now, yet fail to understand the difference between a dump and a casualty.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Natebarrette</b></div><div>2nds is not underselling on Hall. Domi is not as good skill wise, but fits a 3rd line roll better than hall does..
Well there is going to be kids up in the lineup next year, Beecher most fits the shoes of Nosek, and Lohrei im sure will get a look</div></div>
Yes, it is. Keep Hall, play him with Pastrnak, get his production back up and you will get more. Domi is awful defensively and certainly not better offensively. On top of that, it's a high-risk, low reward contract for an inconsistent player.
They could both get a look but not at the start of the season. Also, Merkulov needs to be with offensive-minded players and playing more than 8 minutes otherwise AHL is better for him. Rather have him on the 3rd line than Domi.

Selling high on Ullmark
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Leafs_and_Sens_Fan</b></div><div>I’m not sure it’s really selling high after that playoff collapse. Was playing injured. GMs are not swayed by small sample sizes like fans are.

Just funny, but of all the available "ANY TEAM"s, you traded Reilly to the one team he specifically did not want to sign with... <a href="https://www.nhl.com/bluejackets/news/jackets-ready-to-move-on-after-reillys-decision/c-771249" rel="nofollow noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Jackets ready to "move on" after Reilly's decision</a>

Dmitry Kulikov went for FCs last summer with 1x$2.25M, I'm sure someone looking for a body will just take Mike Reilly's 1x$3M for nothing if Boston has to move him.

Hear Me Out
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Natebarrette</b></div><div>I think the bruins are going to do everything in their power to Re-Sign Pasta. No excuse to lose a home grown talent like that who is one of the best players in the entire league. The cap will be a problem but they will have to figure that one out.
Only the Boston Red Sox like to not pay their home grown talent in this city.</div></div>
I agree, and I hope you're right. Like I said at the beginning, ridiculous scenario.
However, should the Bruins win the cup and be without their top two centers, like I've addressed above, and Pasta wants to move on, I think it's best to part ways. He's in his prime and probably won't want to be on a team who's potentially going through a rebuild. In that case, the best-case scenario for Boston would be a sign-and-trade, to get value and still move him to a contender.

Not really. Only 8 teams could have. Teams wanted to but could not. And this is in the offseason so he no longer has term, it’s now an expiring contract which makes a difference as well.
