Teams don’t want to give assets like this to have the privilege of negotiating a deal to buy prime UFA years or being taken to arb and then right to UFA</div></div>
Hawks would rather extend him for 8 years anyways, So it's a win-win

His point was they need new deals that won't be affordable. I agree with you, but they won't move the core guys like Stamkos or Hedman, so I see what he's up to

Eichel
After mulling it over I’ve said I want the centerpiece of a Jack trade to be Eichel for 3OA and Zegras. If other pieces need to be moved to make it even then so be it, but this is what I need in the trade.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>VijayPatel11</b></div><div>I predict that Buffalo fans will be severely disappointed with the actual return for eichel</div></div>
I am leaning towards that as well. However, KA knows this could be his job on the line. There is no need to move him if the right deal does not present itself. Eichel has 5 more yrs in BUF. If he wants to act like a baby and complain, so be it. I'd rather have a whiny super star then a weak return.

Sneaky Best Eichel Suitor
JEEK is a nonstarter. I could see something like this:
Fiala
Rossi
1st
3rd
But, I think it's unlikely. We're very high on Fiala and Rossi.
Also, to make this work, the Wild would need to trade Dumba somewhere else and/or buyout Rask in order to pay our guys and afford Eichel's cap hit.

Stammer
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>NeedTheCleanser</b></div><div>Depends. Stamkos holds the cards with his NMC.
If he’s only willing to waive for a handful of teams (maybe BUF being one of them?), this deal might entice them. Perhaps add one of Montour or Ristolainen, as TB has a big hole at RD</div></div>
Ya its gonna be interesting but even 8th overall straight up for Stammer would be a good deal for both teams. Eichle would be happy to have an elite 2C, Buffalo would only really need another top 4 LHD and maybe a veteran goalie to actually be a competitive team for years to come and in the end would be a good off season for that team.
But it will be up to Stamkos, if he hamstrings Tampa then take him at as big of a discount as possible.

Johnny just needs a talented center
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Stadel</b></div><div>Yes and no. I agree its a poor way to run a franchise, but they've got no choice. The fans wont support full scale change or a rebuild if the v1.0 featuring Eichel was such a disaster. Pegula's need to sell the fans on something...anything.
As for the playoffs, I disagree with your assessment. The fact that the fans would see the strategy would bring them back. They've been rebuilding for years (in their eyes). Aggressive moves in FA and dealing the 8th overall pick will hurt the team long term, no doubt. But we'd be foolish to think that it wouldn't make them a much better team next season and get them in a playoff spot (or at least contending for one through a full season).</div></div>
the pegulas are looking more and more like tone deaf, clueless, heartless clowns by the minute. Im not sure if they even care about the fans at this point, its better if they dont, i would hate to think how in over their heads they are if they are actually trying

I dont mind the idea of Gourde, but I see him more as a winger. I didnt put him on a list due to his NTC and the fact that hes primarily been a winger. He's of course coming off of a very down year as well. But could certainly fall into the 2nd tier. Possibly first if back to his first year form. And yes, cost would not be high to get him, IF he waives his NTC

I just have a hard time believing Domi is worth 8th overall. I’m willing to trade the 2021 first but not this years. Lundell who I think will be around at 8th overall will probably be better than Domi in a couple years.

Defenseman player card: Ryan Graves
Graves is a rare talent in that he's an elite defensive defender with a fantastic shot. He's excellent at defending the blue line, but is considerably weak in the neutral zone and on the penalty-kill #GoAvsGo

Stan better be playing hardball with Strome. Stan needs to understand ALL of his options. That's all he's doing. Finding out what the market really is for him...and conveying that to his agent.</div></div>

Don't know enough about Samuelsson but the Hawks have a logjam of defensive prospects so unless he's a bonafide top liner prospect (pretty positive he is not) then the Hawks have little need for him. Mittelstadt and a 1st rounder would be interesting or alternatively, (2) 2nd rounders.

Yeah plus they already have a good pipeline. They can be a good winning team as soon as next season if they make the right moves.
