If he’s only willing to waive for a handful of teams (maybe BUF being one of them?), this deal might entice them. Perhaps add one of Montour or Ristolainen, as TB has a big hole at RD

Ya its gonna be interesting but even 8th overall straight up for Stammer would be a good deal for both teams. Eichle would be happy to have an elite 2C, Buffalo would only really need another top 4 LHD and maybe a veteran goalie to actually be a competitive team for years to come and in the end would be a good off season for that team.

But it will be up to Stamkos, if he hamstrings Tampa then take him at as big of a discount as possible.

Panik was 4th on the Caps in points/60 this year. Ottawa fans want him for a 4th. That's already a steal. Don't see why the Caps take less, unless Buffalo is their bestest bestest friend foreversies? They'd probably just keep him another year and get him 20 goals, so they can unload him next year for cap space to give Vrana a raise. Seems easier, no?

Stamkos trade looks generous, given his injury history.

As a sabres fan I'd be scared of this trade even though yes ig seems off he hasn't played a full season in forever so idk how you expect him to be healthy

Check your narrative. Stamkos played the full 82 last year and 78 the year prior (and I'd be willing to bet some of that was resting down the stretch).
