22-23 Off Season

Do you really think it is easy to do? Please, tell me, which goaltender can sign Blackhawcks in this summer with the same caphit? Don't forget, there are a few good available goaltenders, which would cost much more.

I like Mintyukov, but we don't know plans of other 10 teams before us. Let's see.

We really need a stay-at-home defensman, so why should we spend the first round on him? This one can be traded/signed as a free agent. This draft is going to be deep, and you can pick a defensman in both the second and third rounds.

Sharks Rebuild
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Rob32sjsharks</b></div><div>to start at the Draft we go D because that's the weak spot in our prospect depth, either Mintuko or Korchinski if they fall.
Simek will be dealt he wants out of San Jose and is unhappy, Labanc will be dangled for a bag of pucks and a Horton's coffee.
Balcers, Nieto, Bonino, and Dahlen are interchangeable and we have too many players/ prospects similar them anyways, I would assume maybe 2 or 3 get traded to free up cap space. Balcers and Dahlen seem most likely as they have the highest value due to upside and youth.
Hill or Reimer get moved, Hill for a 4th/3rd or Reimer for a 2nd plus a prospect seems reasonable.
Burns or Karlsson one of those two most likely get moved and our interim GM already stated they are available and they are listening to offers.
That leaves our needs at a top 6RW goal scorer for Eklund & Couture.
Skilled big winger to protect Bordeleau and for him to feed the puck to.
top 4 LD (unless Knyzhov is really recovered from injury and NHL ready again, though a 1 year rental as insurance wouldn't hurt)
top 4 RD (to replace Burns or Karlsson once/if one is dealt)
But our Biggest need is for Vlasic to get his head out of his rectum and realize he is still a highly paid hockey player and not a spectator and get to work.</div></div>
I really like your plan. It's all logical. I think we go for the best player on the Draft which would be available, no matter defensman or forward.

Pastrnak to SJ Without Extension Burns to DAL and Malkin on a One Year Deal
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CheechYou</b></div><div>It's just generally more common for star players to be traded without extensions, for whatever reason(s). I think in this sense, teams that trade for star players sometimes would rather not have them come with extensions, otherwise it'll drive up their price significantly.
Sometimes they'll immediately resign with the team that traded for them (i.e. Lindholm, if we can count him as a star player for the sake of the example), sometimes later (EK65), but they usually resign with the team that traded for them the majority of the time.</div></div>
That's all cool, but do we really need him? I think San Jose has two ways: develop young players in the system and make some point signings OR trade superstar for a superstar (top prospects for a superstar). Bad contracts spoil everything.

Why would the Sharks trade Pastrnak if he won't re-sign us? I really don't want to lose 2 frirst-round picks for a one year... As tough as Pasternak is, we need big guys.

SJ Trade For Ethan Bear Offer Sheet Roy Sign Marchment and Trade Burns to Pens
I don't think Ottawa will agree. Lots of talk that they're going to be buyers in the summer and aim for a playoff comeback. Unless our new GM fools Dorion or we have to sweeten it up a little more. I like the way of Burns's trade, but I really don't wanna lose him(((( (I prefer to retain only 2mil.)

Competitive roster for the 22-23 season
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>aedoran</b></div><div>He was claimed off of waivers in 2021 before the season started and Detroit had the highest waiver priority at that time. If Detroit wanted him they could've had him without giving up any assets. I was just trying to give an accurate description from Detroit's pov and since he was claimed off of waivers I think it works. I wasn't trying to be mean and I'm sorry if it offended you but it is true. Would you rather I use bottom 6 forward? His rels are all below the team average and if he is so good why is he being traded with Simek for a middle of the road prospect and a 7th rd pick? Detroit resigning Dekeyser would be about the same as adding Simek. Detroit doesn't need anymore wingers and RHDs are always in demand. So maybe instead of getting mad about how someone describes one of your players try offering something the other team needs or wants.</div></div>
Guys, you react as if I sent you Vlasic's contract for nothing. I sent a not bad defenseman to Detroit who just lost the competition to the young guys (and has a small salary for 2 years). And also as a sweetener, I added a good role player with a small cap hit and a contract for 1 year, besides he is RFA. I don't see Detroit being great with defensemen to say that. Both of these players will add competition and, most importantly, EXPERIENCE (you emphasize that he is 29). (I want to remind you that Detroit took 2nd place in goals conceded - 310 pucks). You react as if we are forcing this trade. It's just a fantasy.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>FunMustBeAlways</b></div><div>The Detroit trade is fair value but I doubt they'd want to do it. And even though I'd love a 2nd out of Hill the going rate is probably more like a 3rd.
You've basically made it so that the Sharks end up with around 8-10 million dollars to spend in free agency if they want. For that money I'd rather sign someone better than Nino. Obviously avoiding contracts over 4ish years is smart but I don't think Niederreiter is the guy. On the other hand I like Marchment but he gets more than 2.7.</div></div>
In my opinion signing Marchment create some risks. And I navigated by Barabanov's contract.

Boston is trending in the wrong direction and Detroit will surpass them. .</div></div>
Ok, Boston's future is foggy. There is a chance that Detroit take place in a wild card. Let's see. I think this off-season should be very interesting for many teams.

So are you a Tampa or Detroit fan? I made this trade only in the interests of Sharks. I would like to see Detroit in the playoffs, but I don't think they will be higher than Tampa, Toronto, Boston, Florida. Let's see their off-season. Moreover, Detroit should fill the payment.

You've wrote that as if Red Wings is a contender, which is finding some gains right now. Not bad players for this price with small contracts. For the Wings, it will definitely not be superfluous.

It's so strange to see this Burns trade. It's a small price to pay with such a large deduction. Burns is real terminator at 37. I don't like idea of trading Scheifele, because we really need a big scoring winger. Priority on a small contract as Brandon Coe can take this role later.
