That is true, personally don’t like Nuge on the PK or any top 6 player (for injury reasons), nor do I think Tippett likes it. Which is why I think priority is to get a decent PK centre who could play 3rd/4th line 5 on 5 efficiently. Somebody like Johan Larsson or Erik Haula (mind you that’s taking a big risk).

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Mayb81</b></div><div>To be fair, he hasn’t exactly had the best line mates on the third line. I think last time he was playing with Khaira and Gagner. I’m not saying Benson and Kassian are all stars but there an improvement. Plus you could always move the wingers up and down the lines or move Nuge back with Draisaitl. It’s not like these will be the lines for an entire season. I just like the idea of 3 great offensive lines.</div></div>
He had Eberle and Pouliot in the 16-17 playoffs. Sure, Pouliot had a complete offensive collapse but Eberle was still a decent scorer and they had a offensive collapse. Not to mention, this is with two centred lines above him that are going to get 20+ mins a night (I’d prefer them to be in the 18-20 min range as I believe their offensive ability isn’t hurt but Tippett won’t do that). He’d be getting in the range of 10-12 minutes a night, which would almost kill his 5on5 offensive game completely. Take the forward line 3 and 4 more as a 4a-4b combination and less of a 3 scoring lines system.

Johnsson suffered a major injury and hasn’t proven he’s a top 6 winger. Stats say he’s worth around a 3rd and a b- prospect at best. (Kemp+3rd)

Stop playing RNH on 3rd line. He doesn’t belong there, it’s been proven time after time that his performance gets significantly impeded.

Johnsson Trade
I don’t mind Johnsson but Archibald is an important player for the PK and Johnsson is coming off that big injur, so for that reason I think the Oilers say no.

Honestly think he needs a shot, when Klefbom was injured he wasn’t superb but wasn’t bad by any means. I think it’s probably worth a shot, considering Klefbom’s performance significantly impedes when paired with Larsson and Jones actually looked decent with Larsson.

More of a 2A, 2B, 2C pairing system. From how he played with Jones I’d assume he could handle 20 minutes still be effective with a competent Two-way dman in Klefbom. If not, switch him back with Larsson.

How to make Minnesota Matter
A lot of these trades make no sense for either team. The Flames trade is especially on the bad side of things, I’d almost say Hanifin and Lucic (even at 4.25) cancel each other out in value, so you’re practically giving a 1st which will likely be 11 and will be in the range of some elite talents (Rossi, Lundell, Mercer, Quinn, Jarvis, Askarov), on top of that you’re giving a PPG winger in Fiala.

Why does Edmonton need to acquire that pick? Yamamoto is ready and has chemistry with RNH and Draisaitl, no way I’m moving Yamamoto right now.

Big Edmonton Trade
Makes zero sense for Edmonton, D-core is pretty solidified and winger core is empty. So I don’t think trading Nuge is a move that Edmonton would do unless another winger is coming back.

That Green contract is pretty bad at this point in his career, he’ll be lucky if he gets a contract let alone 2.75 for 3 years.

I don’t see the big difference between Puljujarvi and Brown. Neither have put sufficient numbers in the NHL, both have good NHL/e in significantly lower tiered leagues. They’re 22, they aren’t 18 anymore and their values have dropped immensely. Maybe EDM adds a b prospect or a 3rd but I don’t think that warrants an “are you joking”.

It’s 1 year difference and I’d rather pay Neal 4.75 cap wise than Subban at 9+another 1 on Neal and another 750k on Lucic. 10.750 mil in cap on PK SUBBAN, when you’re already cap stricken... That’d be extremely poor cap management.

Could be a maritimer, and I’d assume that’s probably a pretty good guess. I admit that my “way better” was pretty dumb, as for Mackinnon it’s pretty obvious that he’s a fairway ahead. Though but I do think it’s funny that Mcdavid was not far behind in the Selke race in 16-17 and was on 17 spots in difference in 17-18 and it would’ve been a lot closer if Chiarelli wasn’t clueless.

Fact is going into a playoff series in order to win the cup today, I'd take Crosby over McDavid, meaning he is better than McDavid today.</div></div>
I don’t like bringing up stats because it’s a decent amount of work without evolvinghockey.
Corsi Relative (5 on 5); Crosby: 2.6 Mcdavid: 1.7 down year for both (more so for Crosby).
Takeaway Giveaway rates (5on5) Crosby: 0
Mcdavid: -9 very down year for Mcdavid, relatively stagnant year for Crosby but I’m being lenient there.
PDO (5on5): Crosby: 98.6 Mcdavid: 102.0 down year for Crosby, Stagnant for Mcdavid
Zone starts offensive and defensive (5on5): Mcdavid 56.6 O 43.6D Crosby: 63.5O 36.5D
Crosby up year slightly, Mcdavid stagnant.
PPG (5on5): Crosby: 0.66 Mcdavid: 0.81
If you don’t understand the stats look them up, Crosby is better than Mcdavid defensively but Mcdavid is better offensively but it’s not by much.

Wow, super impressive counter-argument and completely avoid any points I make. On top of that we're talking about CURRENT not past, we aren’t talking about his accolades from 10-12 years ago. I agree Crosby all around was a better player in his youngish prime when you compare him to Mcdavid but he’s a 33 year old centre!
