Blues sale perfect timing
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OilersRule</b></div><div>I think your leafs bias is a little strong on the Chicago and St-Louis trades.
Why would Chicago want B level prospects when they can likely get better options in the upcoming draft?... Domi has value right now, especially at retained $1.5M, I think they would likely get better options elsewhere
and for some reason, you're giving away Toronto's future for Bjugstad.... Toronto should keep Steeves and Amirov
Tank has made it clear he wants out of St-Louis, he won't be going back, Toronto is giving a lot, but again, if St-Louis is giving up on their season (which I don't think they are), they would likely want to re-tool faster, given they have a pretty solid team, goaltending is their major issue right now
And "I doubt any team is sending away a 2023 first for a rental" Florida literally shipped a 1st for Chiarot, and it's been well aware the 2023 draft was expected to be deep at the time they made the trade. Teams will ship a 1st, and hope they win a cup making it a late 1st at best.</div></div>
I gotcha but also st Louis has a good team outside of Tarasenko already.
Steeves is a solid third liner if he gets a shot in the NHL and he's young, amirov was my mistake he's battling cancer I think so he's not getting moved.
I don't think st Louis is "giving up" on their season I just think they might finally just miss the playoffs is all and yeah would become sellers with O'Reilly and Tarasenko but as I said their team is still very solid, so getting back some future guys makes sense and at least one first rd for each guy, the way I see it.
I'm making a new Leafs team I'm addicted to this acgm but I've changed my opinion I think there's no way in hell kerfoot, Holl or engvall moves all being upcoming ufas and if Dubas trades pieces slated for the future team like sandin and samsonov and it doesn't work out this year he's canned for sure.
Dubas is in a bigger pickle than I even thought so I basically disagree with all my teams now because I think the Leafs will be lucky to add one guy considering the cap and the status of the current guys.

Hawks decline. Robertson is the only piece that's remotely interesting, and he can't stay healthy. This deal is just bad from the Hawks side.

No, dead wrong, most of the fan base is willing to wait until the off-season. He'll be a legitimate asset once he's been paid his 5M dollar signing bonus and is only owed 1 million in cash. Team's will be lining up for that.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>That's silly. Nobody would be forced to buy him out. If the Oilers were stupid enough to make this trade, the Sens could turn around and trade Barrie for more assets. That's how the league works. Talk of a buyout is just ignoring reality.</div></div>
ok you're the type of "you understand fast but we have to explain you for a very long time" lol
I am NOT saying Barrie would be bought out by the team that would intentionally acquire him
I am saying that IF Ottawa makes that stupid trade they would be forced to buy him out to NOT lose DeBrincat or Zub
As of now :
- 3 teams have a lot of cap space but they are in the middle of their rebuild and their young stars will start getting costly too
- 24 teams have 2M$ or LESS in cap space (20 less than a 1M$). Teams have to do a lot of gymnastics just to stay cap compliant
- only 5 teams have more than 2.5 M$ in cap space (but less than 5.3). One of these teams is the Ottawa Senators and I can tell you that they will be absolutely against the cap next season
- we have no idea what the cap will be next year, nothing is official. As of now it's $83,500,000 and pretty much all teams will be tight against the cap so we will see more good players like Pacioretty, Bjorkstrand or Burns DUMPED for basically nothing. Barrie will most likely not be a priority so it's not certain he will be moveable, despite how great you think he is
So you see, there is what we call CONTEXT in the real world and in the reality, the Sens are not acquiring Tyson Barrie, even for free (or that would just be another really stupid Dorion move)
The plan is to buyout Zaitsev, not to trade him for a player they don't need and who would be more expensive to buyout...
I would bet a lot that you still won't get it.
lol @sensfire, you really liked his post?

When will Hutson and Beck turn pro
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OilersRule</b></div><div>absolutely, but by placing a young player in a position of weakness for the team, and while the team is building towards a solid future can expose a player.
The speed to assess and make decisions, is ultimately tied to confidence, expose a player too early, and ruin their development, and it's a lost piece.
Let them develop this season at the CHL/NCAA, then let them sit a year as an overager or AHL ready if possible, and develop at the next level.
Montreal is in no need to rush their prospects, Beck and Hutson making the team next year won't change they are still outside the playoffs, they aren't going to be impactful enough to change those results, so, why burn a year of ELC, and why risk their development?
It's cute to try to push into "rebuild is over" mode, but that might not be the best thing for the habs future.</div></div>

The Oilers can add about 2 million in cap with Kane on LTIR and they need about 5M pro rated cap hit around March to put Kaner back in the lineup. The pick doesnt have to be there but Jesse looks like a project at this point and with the Habs overcrowded wings, the Habs might prefer the pick over Pool Party. I rather see Ylonen in the lineup instead of Puljujarvi.

Also what categories are the habs better?
SF/60: Flames are 3rd, Habs are 22nd
SA/60: Flames are 7th, Habs are 13th
CF/60: Flames are 5th, Habs are 25th
CA/60: Flames are 11th, Habs are 17th
xGF/60: Flames are 14th, Habs are 25th
xGA/60: Flames are 12th, Habs are 23rd
Also the Flames have only played 1 team that currently has less than 14 points and thats the Penguins. The Habs have only beaten 2 teams with more points than them, the Red Wings and the Leafs. Montreal also currently has more points than the Avalanche too does than make them vetter than Colorado?</div></div>

Leafs gladly accept!
In reality it would cost quite a bit more.
Engvall for cap reasons, 2nd, 3rd. That would probably be the MINIMUM it would take to get Barby. I assume a team could potentially throw in a first.
ST Louis is in a great position. I like their team, but if they keep struggling, they can sell ROR, Tank and Barby for a bunch of picks and prospects. They would be in a great position long term. They could bounce back quite easily next year also.
If for some reason Parayko becomes available and he is willing to waive his ntc, the Leafs would be ALL over him. As would a team like Vancouver and Ottawa.

Kotkaniemi have one of the worst contract in the NHL. He's gonna have less than 15 goals this year and for the next 7 years.
