<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>OilersRule</b></div><div>I think your leafs bias is a little strong on the Chicago and St-Louis trades.

Why would Chicago want B level prospects when they can likely get better options in the upcoming draft?... Domi has value right now, especially at retained $1.5M, I think they would likely get better options elsewhere

and for some reason, you're giving away Toronto's future for Bjugstad.... Toronto should keep Steeves and Amirov

Tank has made it clear he wants out of St-Louis, he won't be going back, Toronto is giving a lot, but again, if St-Louis is giving up on their season (which I don't think they are), they would likely want to re-tool faster, given they have a pretty solid team, goaltending is their major issue right now

And "I doubt any team is sending away a 2023 first for a rental" Florida literally shipped a 1st for Chiarot, and it's been well aware the 2023 draft was expected to be deep at the time they made the trade. Teams will ship a 1st, and hope they win a cup making it a late 1st at best.</div></div>

I gotcha but also st Louis has a good team outside of Tarasenko already.

Steeves is a solid third liner if he gets a shot in the NHL and he's young, amirov was my mistake he's battling cancer I think so he's not getting moved.

I don't think st Louis is "giving up" on their season I just think they might finally just miss the playoffs is all and yeah would become sellers with O'Reilly and Tarasenko but as I said their team is still very solid, so getting back some future guys makes sense and at least one first rd for each guy, the way I see it.

I'm making a new Leafs team I'm addicted to this acgm but I've changed my opinion I think there's no way in hell kerfoot, Holl or engvall moves all being upcoming ufas and if Dubas trades pieces slated for the future team like sandin and samsonov and it doesn't work out this year he's canned for sure.

Dubas is in a bigger pickle than I even thought so I basically disagree with all my teams now because I think the Leafs will be lucky to add one guy considering the cap and the status of the current guys.

<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>CD282</b></div><div>That's silly. Nobody would be forced to buy him out. If the Oilers were stupid enough to make this trade, the Sens could turn around and trade Barrie for more assets. That's how the league works. Talk of a buyout is just ignoring reality.</div></div>

ok you're the type of "you understand fast but we have to explain you for a very long time" lol

I am NOT saying Barrie would be bought out by the team that would intentionally acquire him

I am saying that IF Ottawa makes that stupid trade they would be forced to buy him out to NOT lose DeBrincat or Zub

As of now :

- 3 teams have a lot of cap space but they are in the middle of their rebuild and their young stars will start getting costly too

- 24 teams have 2M$ or LESS in cap space (20 less than a 1M$). Teams have to do a lot of gymnastics just to stay cap compliant

- only 5 teams have more than 2.5 M$ in cap space (but less than 5.3). One of these teams is the Ottawa Senators and I can tell you that they will be absolutely against the cap next season

- we have no idea what the cap will be next year, nothing is official. As of now it's $83,500,000 and pretty much all teams will be tight against the cap so we will see more good players like Pacioretty, Bjorkstrand or Burns DUMPED for basically nothing. Barrie will most likely not be a priority so it's not certain he will be moveable, despite how great you think he is

So you see, there is what we call CONTEXT in the real world and in the reality, the Sens are not acquiring Tyson Barrie, even for free (or that would just be another really stupid Dorion move)

The plan is to buyout Zaitsev, not to trade him for a player they don't need and who would be more expensive to buyout...

I would bet a lot that you still won't get it.

lol @sensfire, you really liked his post?
