Surprised you also did not acquire Travis Dermott off the Canucks who also played on that Erie Otters team.

Seems like Sakic is very high on Georgiev, or he himself is just very, very high.

If OTT can unload Watson to Minnesota, then I would take this.
You'd probably get 1.8M retained in CBrown.

Trade for Connor Brown
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>Koskinen_The_Great</b></div><div>Since when did Brown suddenly become this unbelievable player. He's a poor man's Lehkonen without the finishing. I've never seen a guy miss so many chances, all alone. In that instance, he's much like Puljujarvi.
Not getting Pool Party and a 1st. Especially when Brown becomes UFA and Lehkonen had cost control.
You're looking at a 2nd and Jesse at best!</div></div>
How in the world can he be a poor man’s Lehkonen “without finishing” when he puts up more goals and points while playing on a worse team LOL
50 point pace every single season in Ottawa. One of the leagues leading pkers at forward. Defensively responsible, plays up and down the lineup, can play pp as well. Only a year older than Lehkonen and can be traded at only 1.8m against the cap. He’ll get a 1st.

Another deal for Raanta
Raanta makes sense. He's on a nice contract. He's not durable though, so Skinner would see quite a bit of action

Another deal for Raanta
Raanta will very likely be cheaper than PJ, but I don’t think PJ is the answer for the Canes lack of top 6 scoring in the playoffs. I mean, he couldn’t even put up 40 points playing with McDavid. The Canes have a strong Finnish presence, but what they need right now is a pure goal scorer. And PJ is by no means a pure goal scorer. Besides, Koochie could benefit greatly from a full year in the AHL, and with Raanta backing up Freddie, Freddie can be given a bit of a relaxed work load from this past season.
The only reason I think the Canes should go after JP would be to give Laine an incentive to come here to reignite the WJC magic. That being said, it’s very unlikely to happen, and the Canes needs make this a fairly bad trade. Value is decent, although the picks should probably be coming Carolina’s way, but I think the Canes pass.

Another deal for Raanta
It looks like Jesse is done in Edmonton just from the quotes around the team.
Carolina makes sense with the big Finnish presence.
I dont like the return but Raanta is an option. We cant spend too much on a goalie with so many holes on D and the wing.

Another deal for Raanta
I like Pulj and the value is fine but idk if he’s the answer to our top 6 scoring woes and I don’t want to rush Koochie into the backup role when Freddy will definitely need substantial rest throughout the season. A year from now a deal like this makes way more sense for Canes than it does this summer imo.

In all honesty, I think this Fed kid is going to steal Harts job. I know it’s a much different league but that kid reminded me a lot of Ben Bishop. Plus Stuart could be a solid back up.
I know they want to win now but I don’t think we are a playoff team

Shocked Edmonton didn't land a goalie at TDL, but with 20 other teams running with 2 and sometimes 3 goalies for insurance it doesn't surprise me.
Dont think it would be Nashville taking on Barrie but considering Edmonton's big picture the return for him and Foegele seems about right. Either that or I need more coffee.

Husso has had one hot 14 game stretch, otherwise he's been average or below. He's not worth that contract.
Foegele for Soucy in the summer. You heard it here first.

Also i have a sneaking suspicion mike smith gets a career ending "medical procedure" done this offseason and then says "oh i gritted through it for the boys and pushed through the pain last season but unfortunately in view of being healthy and leading a life outside of hockey i need to take some time and ensure i recover fully yatta yatta yatta.
That way his pride stays intact and he can retire without saying his play fell off a cliff.

An underpay for Romanov and an overpay for Vanecek with little cap space.
Maybe Habs fans would be more receptive if you got rid of that fourth you get in return and switch out the second rounder for the first given to Washington, but I'd imagine they'd want Bouchard or Broberg for Romanov if he's even available

Better defensive defencemen and a goalie upgrade
<div class="quote"><div class="quote_t">Quoting: <b>evelutions2</b></div><div>It also helps that he plays with McDavid and Draisaitl. Almost any offensive dman who is clueless in his own zone would be able to get 50 pts year in and out if he played with McDavid and Draisaitl.
Carolina doesn’t have a McDavid or Draisaitl, and with how defensively oriented the Canes are, he would be a burden and an anchor that would sink the Canes. Better off keeping someone who is cheaper, more physical, and can actually play defense. If the Oilers want Bear back, an overpay would be order as they were dumb enough to just let him go. The Oilers can keep Barrie.</div></div>
I'm 100% sure Ken Holland would be glad to keep Barrie over Bear.
And getting 50 points is not guaranteed just by playing on the same team as McDavid and Draisaitl. No Oilers defenseman has done it since McDavid arrived, and Barrie's offensive bona fides were well established long before he went to Edmonton anyhow.
